Currency of which country ??

 This question was asked on Koun Banega Karodpati program.

Question 

Ngultrum is the currency of which of these countries ??

1.   Bangladesh 

2.  Nepal

3.   Myanmar 

4.  Bhutan 

Answer 

For the first time ,  I am hearing about the name of this currency  !!!

I knew Taka is the currency of Bangladesh.

I don't have any idea about other neighbouring country's currencies.

I checked with Google.

Currency of Nepal is  Nepali Rupees.

Currency of Myanmar is  Kyat , I didn't know

3 options are ruled out !!!

Remaining is              BHUTAN     ......

So I gathered some information about this.

The official currency of Bhutan is  Ngultrum  spelled as just  Nu.

Ngultrum is in use in Bhutan since 1974  replacing Indian Rupees.

Indian Rupees are still widely used in border areas and in popular tourist destinations.

But in rural areas ,  Ngultrum currency is widely used.
