What is diamond duck in cricket ???

 In cricket, 

A diamond duck refers to the dismissal of a batter without facing a single delivery.

It is the most rarest and unfortunate way of getting out for a batter.

This usually happens through a run out , where the non striker is dismissed while attempting a run before facing the ball.

The term " duck  " signifies a score of zero.

Other type of ducks  are  ----

1.  Golden duck  

                     Out on the first ball faced.

2.  Platinum duck

                   Out on the first ball of innings 

There have been 164 players who got dismissed as diamond duck in ODI.

Out of them, 12  are  Indians   !!!!
