In today's newspaper , there was an article about third hand smoke and how it is hazardous to health. As I read newspaper from top to bottom without leaving any news article, the phrase " third hand smoke " seemed strange to me.
I have the knowledge of " first hand " and " second hand " smoke. To show my level of general knowledge , I will explain the terms ----
First hand smoke ---
This term directly refers to smoker. When a smoker smokes, he inhales the carcinogenic ( causing cancer ) smoke into his own lungs.
Second hand smoke ---
This term refers to victims who inhale ( without any other option ! ) this smoke. The victims include the persons who sit or stand near to smoker when he is smoking. ( Not on other times ! ) . The exhaled smoke of a smoker contains carcinogenic substances.
Third hand smoke ---
This term deals with present article. Nicotine and other substances which are present in exhaled smoke of a smoker, tend to coat a surface and will continue to emit toxins. This is thought to cause extreme damage to infants and young children .
They are more likely to crawl on floor and eat from their hands without washing them after touching the smoke coated surfaces.
My suggestion ---
Instead of giving rise to all the troubles mentioned above, it is better to quit smoking. Thus , we can also make the value to the saying " live and let live others ".
