ಹುಡ್ಗೀರೆ ಸ್ಟ್ರಾಂಗ್ ಗುರು !

Yesterday I have watched the movie " Queen " . Kangana Ranaut plays the main female lead role in the movie. She was engaged to a boy. They had arranged their honeymoon trip too i.e. to cities Paris and Amsterdam . But boy refused to get marry.
But Kangana didn't sit in a corner crying and cursing the boy. She went to pre planned honeymoon trip all alone !
It is very funny to see her sharing room with boys in Amsterdam. First , she refused to share the room with boys ( typical mentality of an Indian girl ).
But later she realised her thinking is wrong. It is a must watch movie . It reflects the daring nature of today's modern girls.

ಅಳಿಲು ಸೇವೆ

" ಅಳಿಲು ಸೇವೆ " ಎಂಬ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ . ಈಗ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯ ಸಮಯ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಬ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಯಲ್ಲೂ " ನನ್ನ ಅಳಿಲು ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಡಿ " ಎಂದೇ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಅಹವಾಲು. ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಅಳಿಲು ಸೇವೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಏನು ?
ಅದು ರಾವಣನು ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಕದ್ದೊಯ್ದ ಸಮಯ . ರಾಮನು ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ಯುಧ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ವಾಪಸ್ ಕರೆ ತರಲು ತನ್ನ ಕಪಿ ಸೈನ್ಯ ದ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಹೊರಡುತ್ತಾನೆ .
ಆದರೆ ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಲಪಲು ಅಗಾಧವಾದ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ದಾಟಬೇಕು . ಕಪಿ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಜೊತೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಹೊಳೆದದ್ದು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇತುವೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದು .
ಕಪಿಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಾತ್ರದ ಬಂಡೆ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಲು ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದವು . ಈ ಬಂಡೆ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳ ರಾಶಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದು ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಲಪುವುದು ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು .
ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಂದು ಅಳಿಲು ಇದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು . ಅದು ಕೂಡ ರಾಮ ಭಕ್ತನೇ . ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನಿಂದಾದ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಅದರ ಇಚ್ಛೆ .
ಆದರೆ ಕಪಿಗಳಂತೆ ಬಂಡೆ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತರಲು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ ? ಆದರೂ ಸೇತುವೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೂ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಹಂಬಲ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ .
ಅದು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮೈಯನ್ನು ಒದ್ದೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿತು . ನಂತರ ಆ ಒದ್ದೆ ಮೈಯಲ್ಲೇ ಸಮುದ್ರ ತೀರದ ಮರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರಳಾಡಿತು .
ಆಗ ಅದರ ಮೈ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮರಳಿನ ಕಣಗಳು ಅಂಟಿ ಕೊಂಡವು . ನಂತರ ಕಪಿಗಳು ಬಂಡೆ ಕಲ್ಲು ಹಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಮೈ ಕೊಡವುತಿತ್ತು .
ಹೀಗೆ ಅದರ ಮೈ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಮರಳಿನ ಕಣಗಳು ಉದುರಿ ಬಂಡೆ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು . ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ ತಾನೂ ಸೇತುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಆತ್ಮ ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ .
ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಹಾಯವೇ ಆಗಿರಲಿ , ಪರರಿಗೆ ಉಪಕಾರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಹಂಬಲವೇ " ಅಳಿಲು ಸೇವೆ " ಎಂಬ ಶಬ್ದದ ಅರ್ಥ . 

Snake in our garden

Early in the morning , I have the habit of doing walking holding my crutch. Today also, I sat on chair and was putting on my chappals.
I saw a long black stick infront of me. As we have coconut trees all around , I thought it must have been the work of coconut tree , dropping its ಕೊತ್ತಳಿಗೆ ( sticks ) down.
Suddenly , I noticed that the stick has started moving ! Then I realized it is not the stick but a SNAKE . It is not cobra. But it is a non - poisonous snake called ಕೇರೆ  ಹಾವು .
What would I do at this point ?

YES, I started shouting ಹಾವು  , ಹಾವು . ( Shouting is the only work I can do using all my strength ! ). By listening to my shouting, my mother came outside.
Soon she noticed the snake. By this time, snake got scared of my shouting ( ! ) and started moving fast. By seeing snake, mother started praying to Nagaraja ( serpent or cobra whom we worship here ) to go away without doing any harm.
I was confused . It was a ಕೇರೆ ಹಾವು . But mother is praying to God Cobra. I didnt open my mouth since it is the religious matter.
Snake listened to the prayers of my mother and disappeared through the hole of mud compound to the garden of our neighbour .
I waved my hand and wished the snake " BYE , HAPPY  JOURNEY " . I got a good scolding from my mother after wards.

Hampankatta of Udupi

Surprised?!
Even I was when I heard about this. I thought it must be a April fool joke. But it is not.
Hampankatta of Mangalore is quite famous. It has railway station there. It is the main business center of Mangalore.
Today I heard about Hampankatta of Udupi !
It is near Kemmannu.
Udupi is also having Hampankatta . But it is less known to people .
