Why do humans afraid of darkness ??

It mostly comes down to revolutionary survival.

For our ancestors, darkness meant being at a massive disadvantage against nocturnal predators.

Since we lack night vision, our brains developed a fear response to keep us away from potential danger we could not see.

Psychologically, it is more about fear of unknown than the absence of light itself.

When the eyes can not provide clear information,  the brain tends to trigger the "  fight or flight ' response !!!!

Baking soda while cooking veggies

If we add a pinch of baking soda when cooking vegetables, they get cooked easily.

Baking soda softens vegetable cell walls through a chemical process called alkalization.

Plant cells are bound by pectin.  It acts like cement between cell walls.

Mixing baking soda to the water in which vegetables are supposed to cook, baking soda raises the water pH, thus making it alkaline.

In alkaline environment, pectin bonds breaks down quickly. This further reduces the rigidity of tough and fibrous vegetables.

This allows the boiling water to penetrate into vegetable, significantly reducing cooking time.

Places where magnetic compass stop working....

Magnetic compasses always point towards Earth's magnetic north.

But there are some places where magnetic compasses stop working.

They are -----

1.  Earth's magnetic poles

At magnetic poles, Earth's magnetic field runs almost vertically instead of horizontally.

This makes compass needles to dip downwards.  It often spins or points randomly.

2.  Bermuda triangle

In this place in Atlantic ocean, compass fails.   Here we can observe unusual magnetic variations.

3.  Kursk's magnetic anomoly, Russia

In this region, large amounts of iron ore deposits are found.  This creates strong local magnetic pull which overpower Earth's natural field.

4.   South Atlantic anomoly

In this region, Earth's magnetic field weakens.  It also affects satellites and electronic signals.

5. Kerguelen plateau

This underwater volcanic plateau has unusual magnetic properties which distrubs Earth 's magnetic Field.

Why is America called United States ??

The name United States of America is commonly shortened to USA.

Before independence, the land now known as United States consisted of 13 British colonies along eastern cows of North America.

These colonies differ in culture, economy and governance, yet they shared growing dissatisfaction with British rule.

When they decided to break away from British crown, they faced a crucial question  ---  "  How could seperate colonies unite, while still maintaining their individual identities ??  "

After declaring independence in 1776, the former colonies  merge into a single centralized territory.

Instead they formed a union of individual states, each with its own government and law, while agreeing to be governed collectively on national matters such as defence and trade.

So,  America is called USA because the name accurately describes the nation  :  A Union of individual states located in America   !!!

Bheja Fry question

This Bheja Fry question don't require mathematical knowledge  !!!

Question

If          9999  =  4

             8888  =   8

             6688   =  6

Then     4466  =  ??

Answer

Please don't try to put mathematical formulae over here !!!

Just look at the number 9.

It is having one circle in the upper part  !!!

In the first row, we have 9999.  So,    4 circles.

Now look at the number 8.

It is having two circles on both upper and lower parts   !!!!

In the second row,  we have 8888.. So,   8  circles.

Same way,

In the third row, we have  6688.

Total number of circles in the number 6688 is     6.

On the same logic,

In the fourth row we have   4466.

Number  4  don't have circles, it has only empty  space !!!

But number 6 has one circle in it.

Number    4466 has   2     6s.

Total number of circles       only     2     !!!!

Hence  9999        4

              8888         8

                6688            6

                4466            2

Devil comet

Devil comet is a large, periodic comet that orbits the Sun every 71 years.

It got its name from its appearance !!!

This comet look like a devil as it has horns or forked tail .

This appearance is because of outbursts of gas and dust which forms a horn like structure.

Why do we add Garam Masala at the end ???

Garam Masala is a spice blend.

It is prepared with cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, cloves, coriander and black pepper.

It increases the flavour profile of any dish and it also has digestive benefits.

Why do we add Garam Masala at the end ??

Garam Masala must be added to the dish at the end only.

If we add Garam Masala early in the recipe, the spice blend gets exposed to high heat for a longer time.

This can lead to the essential oils which make the dish aromatic and tasteful, resulting in a muted overall flavour.

But when we add Garam Masala at the final stage, its aromatic potential and fresh, vibrant taste is preserved.

This trick works very well with vegetarian dishes.

In some meat based dishes, Garam Masala is added little earlier in the cooking process.

Why dogs circle before pooping ???

Some of the possible reasons are    ------

1.  Scent marking

Circling and pooping may be a way for dogs to communicate with other dogs through scent marking.

This is one of the ways canines silently exchange information about their health, territory and presence.

2.  Preparing the area

Circling may help dogs to find the right spot to poop, taking into factors like texture, smell and visibility.

3.  Instinctual heritage

Circling before pooping is an instinctual behavior from wild ancestors, who needed to prepare a safe and suitable area to defecation and to ensure  the area is clear of threats, insects and obstacles.

Why is there a gap between railway tracks ??

We must have noticed rails are not laid as a single continuous piece. Instead they are joined at regular intervals.

This is because manufacturing and transporting a single raip for thousands of kilometers is neither practical nor feasible.

Therefore multiple rail sections are connected to form a continuous track.

But there is a small gap between two joined rails. It is carefully engineered safety measure.

Railway tracks are made of iron and steel. Metals naturally expand in hot weather and get contract in cold weather.

If no space is left between two rail sections, the expansion in higher temperature could cause the tracts to bend or buckle.

It is a dangerous condition that result in derailment.

The gap provided allows the metal to expand safely without distorting the alignment of tracks.

Other safety measure is trains halting at the outer signal before entering the station.

Because signalling and track clearance play a crucial role in such stops.

Einstein rings

Einstein rings are a very rare and fascinating astronomical phenomenon.

They occur when the light from a distant galaxy passes through the gravitational field of a foreground object typically another galaxy or another galaxy cluster.

Because of this, foreground galaxy's gravity bends and magnifies the light, creating a ring likes shape around it.

Einstein 's ringjs are a result of

1.  Gravitational lensing

2.  Alignment

Only a few dozen Einstein's rings are discovered so far as they are rare but they are beautiful.

Bheja Fry Question

This Bheja Fry question I came across when browsing internet.

Question

If       5   +    3   =   28

           5   +    4   =    19

           9    +    1   =   810

           8    +    6    =    214

Then

           7   +    4   =  ???

Answer

 This looks really weird.

But if we closely examine, we will find out the pattern these numbers are following  !!!!

First row, we have  5  +  3  =  28

We know  5  -  3  =  2  and   5  + 3  =  8.  These 2 and 8 have been written together  !!!!

Next  we have    5  +  4  =  19

5  -  4  = 1  and  5  +  4 =  9.  Together it is  19.

Same logic goes to remaining rows also.

Now    7  +  4  =  ??

7 - 4 =  3   and  7  +  4  =  11

Together we get       7   +    4     =   311

Why are train roofs curved ??

 Here are the reasons  -----

1.   To deflect rainwater and snow

If train roofs are flat, every downpour turn the top of the train into a mini swimming pool  !!!

A curved design allows rain water and snow to slide off easily. Accumulation could lead to leaks and rust.

2.   To reduce air resistance

A curved roof helps the air flow    smoothly over the train body,  reducing drag and increasing fuel efficiency.

3.  To strengthen the structure

Curves are stronger than flat surfaces.  Can withstand strong winds.

4.  To create more headroom inside

The arched roof provides extra headroom without increasing width of train or compromising stability.

5.  To keep the temperature balanced

Curved sufaces make environment less stuffy during long journeys.

Do grey hairs multiply if we pluck them ??

IT  IS   A   COMMON MISCONCEPTION    !!!

Each hair follicle operates independently.  It can produce only one hair at a time.

There is no biological mechanism that would trigger surrounding follicles to produce grey hair just because we plucked one   !!!

Plucking one grey hair won't unleash hell. But it may cause more harm than good.

When we pull the hair, it causes trauma to hair follicle.  As a result,  hair we are pulling may just never come back.

That's why it is not advisable.
