Many of us have observed the small picket above the right side pocket of a jeans pant.
Many of us don't know why it is there ??!!
I thought it is meant to put coins as they are difficult to hold !!!
Real reason -----
The jeans themselves were designed by Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis in late 19th century.
They were originally made for miners and working men, so they were really durable.
When the jeans were invented, there were no wrist watches. People used to carry pocket watch.
When miners are working, there was no safe place to keep them.
So, this little pocket was designed to keep these pocket watches safely.
Though nowadays we don't use pocket watches, that tradition is still going on !!!!
