:Cows CAN go downstairs, but they are too scared and their body design makes it very hard. Up is okay, down is nightmare. !!!
4 Reasons - =----
*1. Eyes = Bad Depth Perception*
- Cows have eyes on side of head, not front like humans.
- They see 330 degree around, but *no 3D depth*. Stairs look like scary cliff to them. They cannot judge where next step is.
- Like we walking downstairs with one eye closed.
*2. Knees Don't Bend That Way*
- Cow's front knees bend backward?
No.
- To go DOWN, they need to put front legs down first, but heavy head + 600 kg body weight pushes forward.
- Their back legs cannot bend enough to lower body slowly. So they feel they will fall head-first.
*3. Too Heavy at Front*
- Cow = Heavy front (big stomach + head). Going up, front heavy helps pull up.
- Going down, all weight goes on weak front legs. Feels like car with no brakes going downhill.
*4. Never Practiced*
- In nature, no stairs! Cows walk on flat fields. They never learn stair skill as calf.
- Horse also same.
- People say "Cows physically CANNOT go downstairs" - *FALSE.*
- They CAN physically, if forced. But they will likely fall, break leg, get injured.
- So farmers never make them do it. Once cow goes upstairs in barn (happened in old barns), farmers needed fire brigade to rescue it down with ramp.
