Answer
Class of 450 students.
50 of them don't play any games !!!
So, total strength reduced to 400 students
Out of 400 students,
325 play football
175 play cricket
We must find out how many students play both the games ??
Applying inclusion - exclusion principle,
Number of = Number of + Number of
Total students students playing students playing
Football cricket
- Number of students
Playing both
==>> 400 = 325 + 175 - x
Where x = number of students playing both the games
==>> 400 = 500 - x
==>> x = 100
Number of students playing both the games = 100
