This question was asked on Koun Banega Karodpati program.
Question
In which sport, England and Scotland team compete with each other in a tournament called " Calcutta Cup " ??
Horse race
Cricket
Rugby
Football
Answer
The question surprised me. Why do England and Scotland teams compete with each other for a cup called Calcutta Cup??
This Calcutta Cup is not organized in India.
Since England and Scotland teams are taking part, this tourney must be organised in these 2 countries.
Taking a wild guess and also knowing that game of cricket was born in England , I thought answer must be cricket.
But the question was for 6, 50, 000 Rs !!!!
Why would they ask such an ambiguous answer ...
So, cricket is ruled out.
The tourney is named Calcutta Cup.
In Calcutta, people like football more than cricket.
So, football also seems to be an ambiguous answer.. !!!!
Football is ruled out.
Now we are left with only 2 options..... Horse race and Rugby.
Out of them, one option is correct.
That is, RUGBY !!!!
