The 90% right handed majority is an evolutionary result of brain lateralization.
Here the left hemisphere is specialized in both language and motor control of right side of body.
Evolution favoured a " division of labour " that made the right hand, the specialist for complex tasks like tool use.
Language processing and writing, throwing require high level neural coordination. Left brain handles speech, so right hand became the natural choice for detailed work.
In a community where most people use their right hand to do their work, it is easier for children to learn by using the same hand.
WHY AREN'T WE 100% RIGHT HANDED ??
Left handed ness persists through frequency dependent selection.
Left handers have surprise advantage over right handed opponents. This helped left hand minority to survive and pass on their genes !!!
