How many pieces at a time ??

This question was asked on Koun Banega Karodpati program.

Question

In castling ,  how many pieces are moved at once ??

1.   1

2.   2

3.  3

4.   4

Answer

Castling is  a move in chess.

In castling, two pieces are moved at once :  the King and one of the rooks.

This is the only time we can move more than one piece during a single turn  !!!

How  it works  :

The King moves two squares toward the rook.

The Rook jumps over the King and lands on the square immediate next to it.

 Strict requirements for castling  ----

1.  Neither the King nor the Rook we are using ,  has moved yet in the game.

2.  There must be no other pieces between the King and the Rook

3.  We can not castle if our King is currently in check.

As we move King and the Rook simultaneously, we are moving 2 Pierce at a time   !!!
