Chefchaoune is a city in Northern Morocco which is also known as the Blue City.
The whole town is painted in blue colour including streets, shops and houses.
It is also called Blue pearl of Morocco.
Why the whole city is blue ????
There are several theories regarding this.
1. Blue colour keeps the mosquitoes away.
2. When Jews took refuge from Hitler, they introduced the colour blue.
3. The colour blue symbolises the sky, heaven and spirituality.
4. Simply to attract the tourists !!!!
