Which is the union territory ??

This question was asked on Koun Banega Karodpati program.

Question 

Which of these union territories is governed by administrator not a lieutenant general ??

1.  Jammu and Kashmir 

2.  Chandigarh 

3.  Puducherry 

4.   Ladakh 

Answer 

India has 9 union territories.

Some of these are governed by lieutenant generals and some by administrators.

Depending on the nature of union territory, either the administrator or lieutenant general are appointed to govern the union territory.

Lieutenant Governors are appointed to those Union territories WHICH HAVE A LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY or larger population.

Like Jammu and Kashmir,  Delhi and Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar islands

Administrators are appointed for less populated and relatively smaller Union territories.

Like  Chandigarh,  Lakshadweep, Ladakh,  Dadra and Nagarhaveli and Daman and Diu.
