En passant move in chess

En passant is a chess move that is taught to me by my nephew Aniruddha.

It is a special chess move that allows a pawn to capture an enemy pawn.

The enemy pawn must passed two squares in its first move.

The capturing pawn must be of the same rank and an adjacent file to the enemy 's pawn.

The capture is only legal on the next move after the enemy pawn' s advance.

This rule was introduced in 15th century and to speed up the game.
