Neptune 's Great Dark Spot

The great dark spot of Neptune is a high pressure storm system similar to great red spot on Jupiter.

Methane gas absorbing red light causes Neptune to appear blue.

The great dark spot of Neptune are transient and not long lasting as great red spot on Jupiter.

Hydrogen,  helium and methane make up the dark spots but what causes the dark colour is not yet known.

Each dark spot lasts for a few years before dissipating, fragmenting or evolving into another form.

Winds in the spot have the speed which is highest in the entire solar system
