What enables mongoose to resist snake bites and venom ?

The secret to of the resistance of mongoose to snake venom lies in their acetylcholine receptors.

These receptors are the proteins that found in nerves are cells.

In other words other animals these receptors generate neurotoxins which is responsible for the death, but in mongoose they have gone mutations so that mongoose can survive the snake bite.

Despite the resistance, mongoose are not totally immune to snakes and venom.

Multiple bites can still be fatal. Mongooses rely heavily on their agile agility and speed when they encounter snakes.

They avoid strikes from snake and aim to deliver a fatal bite to the snake's head.
