Answer 

We have to make sure what is mainland India   ??

We know southern most point of India is INDIRA POINT in Nicobar island.

But here we are talking about southern most point of mainland India excluding Nicobar islands.

Obviously it is KANYAKUMARI   !!!

It is located at the southern most tip of mainland, where Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean meet    !!!

Kanyakumari is also known as  Cape Comorin as British found it difficult to spell Kanyakumari   !!!
