Why do some countries avoid building large armies ??

 Many countries avoid large armies to priortize economic welfare..  Here are the countries without having army and reason behind that-------

1.  Costa  Rica

                  Constitution bans a standing army.

2.   Iceland 

                Only NATO member with no standing army.

3.  Palau and Marshall islands 

                    Outsourcing their safety.

4.  Japan 

                     Strictly defensive roles 

5.  Panama

                   To prevent military dictatorship 

6.  Andorra 

                   Defence is the responsibility of Spain and France.
