Frog turned maiden, Mandodari

 Mandodari is wife of Ravana.

There is a story behind her birth. 

In the forest, there lived a group of sages. 

Early in the morning, they were getting up.  They were looking after some cows. 

Morning they were milching the cows. They were collecting the milk in big cans. 

Before going to nearby river, they were keeping the milk to boil.

The milk would be ready for use as soon as they return from the river. 

A frog which was living in the nearby tree, was watching all these. 

It was the daily routine. 

But one day, sages have kept the milk to boil and went to river. 

That time, an eagle carried a poisonous snake in its beak and sat on the tree branch which was above the boiling milk. 

As the eagle was killing the snake, the drops of poison from it's body dropped down and got mixed up with boiling milk. 

Frog was watching all these and it got scared that sages are going to drink this poisonous milk when they return. 

Frog noticed that sages are coming and in order to keep them away from drinking poisonous milk, frog jumped on the bowl of milk.

Seeing the dead frog in the milk bowl, sages just spilled the poisonous milk to ground. 

But they soon figured out what had happened and felt sympathy for the dead frog. 

They made the frog to live again and blessed the frog to become a beautiful girl.

That girl is Mandodari.
