Yesterday US and Israel jointly fired missiles on Iran and killed Khomeini.
Later, Iran as revenge has fired missiles on US airbases situated in MIDDLE EAST !!!
Question arise what is called MIDDLE EAST ??
It depends on where we are standing !!!!
The term MIDDLE EAST is a Eurocentric label.
It was coined by people in Western Europe specifically British.
European perspective -------
In 19th century, European powers divided the EAST into 3 distinct regions based on their distance from London.
1. Near East
Ottoman empire and the Balkans ( closest to Europe )
2. Far East
China, Japan and Korea
3. Middle East
Area around Persian gulf and Mesopotamia.
For us, standing in India, Middle East would actually be " Middle West " !!!!
