Largest moons in solar system

 Here I have listed down the largest moons (  natural satellites  ) of different planets according to their diameter in decreasing order.



1.  Ganymede,  Moon of Jupiter 

                      Ganymede is the largest moon in solar system which is larger than planet Mercury.




2Titan ,  Moon of Saturn 

                      Titan is the second largest moon and has a thick atmosphere made up of nitrogen gas.




3.  Callisto,  Moon of Jupiter 

                          Callisto has the most heavily cratered surface in entire solar system.




4.  Lo ,  Moon of Jupiter 

                            Lo has hundreds of volcanoes making its surface covered with sulphur and volcanic deposits.




5.   Moon,  planet Earth 's moon

                       Moon is the only natural satellite of Earth.  It has significant effect on ocean  tides.




6.  Europa,  Moon of Jupiter 

                           Scientists believe that it harbours life under its icy surface.




7. Triton ,  Moon of Neptune 

                        Triton moves opposite to  Neptune's rotation and has geysers that spew nitrogen gas.




8.  Rhea ,  Moon of  Saturn

                        It is believed that Rhea may also have thin ring around it.




9.  Titania ,  Moon of Uranus 

                          Titania is largest moon of Uranus and it has large canyons.




10.  Oberon,  Moon of Uranus 

                           It is the second Largest moon of Uranus and its surface is covered with craters.
