Negro river is a major river in South American continent flowing through Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
This river is major tributary of Amazon river.
The dark colour of the water is due to humic acid and tannins.
Humic acid is responsible for brown or black colour of soil.
The river passes through dense forests and it carries fallen leaves and soil with its flow.
Thus river water is black coloured.
