Stories behind different type of mangoes

 There are different types of mangoes available in market.

I have listed down certain types of mangoes and the reasons why they are named like that.

1.  Alphonso 

                 This is the most sought after mango.  It is termed sweetest !!!!  It is named after a Portuguese general  Alfonse de Albuquerque. He is also called conqueror of Goa.

2.  Langda Aam

                 This variety of mango got its name from a farmer who had a limp.  Despite his disability, he tended to his orchard with great care, producing this delicious mango.

3.  Dasheri

             It was first grown in the Royal garden of Dasheri village.

4.  Chaunsa

                    When Sher shah suri emerged victorious in Chaunsa war , he was so overjoyed that he named this mango like this.

5.  Badami

                  This mango from Karnataka resembles an almond.
