What's the oldest river in the world ??

The oldest river in the world predates dinosaurs  !!!

The Finke river in Australia is between 300 million to 400 million old.

Rivers are constantly in flux, with some growing bigger from year to year and others drying up completely.

So, why has Finke river lasted so long ??

In case of Finke, Australia has been the unusually stable landscape for a very long time.

Resting in the middle of the Australian plate, continent has experienced no significant tectonic activity for the several million years  !!!

Thus, Finke river has been able to develop and expand almost uninterrupted......
