It is not made of red phosphorus !!!
The red colour is from -----
1. Potassium chlorate , This provides oxygen to burn
2. Antimony Sulphide , Act as fuel
3. Iron Oxide , Acts as red dye
What we use today as match sticks,
The red head DOESN'T CONTAIN phosphorus !!!!
The phosphorus is on brown strip .....
The red head only ignites when rubbed against this brown strip.
