Killing of Bhandasur by Goddess

Navaratri festival has begun . Today being the 5th day of Navaratri , I am writing about a demon named Bhandasur who was creating ruckus in the whole universe and finally got killed by Goddess Lalitambika .

Bhandasur was born out of the ashes of Kamadev . He performed different austerities to please God Shiva and was granted many boons such as whom so ever dared to fight with Bhandasur would forfeit his 50% of his own strength and masculinity to Bhandasur .

This made Bhandasur to win over each and every opponent of his ..He had become unruly and troublesome to whole universe . This made devas to plead for solution with goddess Durga .

 They were performing the rituals by lighting the fire . Bhandasur came to know of this and attacked the devas . Due to fear  , devas immolate  themselves in the fire .

Goddess Parvati came to know of this and took the form of Tripura Sundari . She came to the rescue of devas with her army . She was successful in killing 30 sons of Bhandasur .

Using Maha pashupatastra , Goddess killed Bhandasur . With the so obtained ashes , she again gave birth to Kamadev .

Clever thinking. !

In a village , there lived a family . It consisted of father and his 3 children . Father has looked after his children after the death of his wife . Now all the children have grown up . Father thought it is the right time to hand over his business to his children . But he wanted to give the responsibility to a wise one among his children . So he thought of a plan .....



He called all his children to meet him . As they gathered , father said to children " I am going to give all of you , 100 Rs each . You must buy something from this money such that it must cover the whole room of yours . "




Children agreed . First one went to nearby market with the money . But he could not find anything that can completely cover the room in just 100 Rs . Finally he could buy some fodder with the money . With that , he succeeded in covering the room .


Story of second one is no different . Not finding anything to buy within 100 Rs , he angrily covered the entire room with garbage !



But the third one , bought a lamp and some incense sticks . He kept them in his room .



It was becoming dark . Father wanted to know how his children performed in the test . He visited elder son's room . But room was filled with fodder . He ordered his son to clean the mess .



Now it is second son's room . Father was welcomed by hundreds of flies and mosquitoes before entering the room . Bad  foul smell was coming too . Father was very disappointed by seeing this . He asked his son to clean the garbage immediately .



Finally , he went to younger son's room . There he could not find anything . Surprised , he asked his son what did he do with the money? That time , younger son returned half of the money to his father .


Father was confused . Younger son went inside the room . He lightened the lamp as it was getting darker . Then he lightened the incense sticks also . Now light and nice smell covered the entire room .



Father decided younger son would be the heir to his business .

Who is the culprit ?

King Indraverma was hunting in the forest . He had come much deeper into the forest and he has lost any contacts with his companions .

Now he is very thirsty and hungry too . He was wandering around the forest in a hope of finding the water .


That time , he saw some water droplets falling down from a tree . He was very happy that finally he has found water to drink .


To collect the falling droplets , he made a bowl like structure using bamboo sticks with great difficulty . He was about to collect the falling water droplets , at the same time a parrot came and hit his hand with its beak . All the water droplets he has collected so for  , fell onto the ground .


King was very furious . He cursed the parrot for wasting his effort  . He again started to collect the falling water droplets .


When it was about to full , same parrot again came and hit him again on his hand . This time also , collected water droplets got grounded .


To add to his worries , the bowl like structure he had prepared was broken . King decided that now he will use his own hand to collect the water droplets and with the other hand he would kill that rogue parrot .


He was about to collect the falling water droplets with his own hand,  the parrot again came and tried to hit the king on his hand .


But this time  , king was very careful . He didn't let the bird to hit him instead he hit the bird very hard with his hand . Bird fell on the ground lifeless .


Now king is relieved that there is no one to stop him from drinking water . Now king lifted his head to see the source of water droplets .


He was aghast and speechless when he found out the source of water droplets . They were not simply water droplets . There was a big wounded king cobra on the branch of the tree . It was its saliva falling down as water droplets .



The parrot was trying to stop the king from drinking poisonous water like liquid . But the king mistakenly thought bird is troubling him . He killed the bird itself .



Now who is the real culprit ??

Bird who was troubling him not to drink the poisonous water or the king who killed the bird in a rage ???

Following the footsteps of Gandhiji

 Gandhiji always said " Be the change you want to see in others " . Instead of waiting for others to bring the change , we ourselves can be the change .

Just now I watched a video . In that , an elevator was about to go up . . It was already full to its maximum extent . At that time , a boy came running and entered the elevator .

That time , elevator display flashed the message " over load " .  Now it is the time for any of the people inside the elevator to get out . But everyone kept staring at each other's face as if the other person must leave .

Time passed . Elevator didn't move . It kept on flashing the message of overload . That time , a girl prepared to leave the elevator . All the people adjusted themselves so that they can make the way for her to go out .

But she was walking slowly . It didn't matter for them . All were happy that now the elevator will go up . The girl came outside the elevator . Elevator door was slowly closing .

That time they finally realised that  GIRL IS PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED . SHE WAS WALKING WITH THE HELP OF ELBOW CRUTCHES .

It is the time for us to think .
