The telescope

                                      The telescope

Telescope is an instrument which is used to view the distant objects mainly in space. From sitting in the backward of house, we can explore the space provided sky is free of dark clouds. People have discovered many planets, asteroids and even the comets using telescope.
The modern day telescope what we are using now, is first used by 2 scientists from Netherlands in 1608. The orbit of planets thus found is calculated and if there is a lapse in the movement, it is mainly due to the presence of other object. Thus the hunt for various planet like objects goes.

How does rainbow happen?

                                                   How does rainbow happen?

Rainbow always happen to the opposite direction of Sun. It can happen either in east or west direction. But not in north or south direction since Sun will not be seen in those direction.
The reason for rainbow is the refraction principle of physics. As we have studied in 2nd PUC, the principle of refraction is very simple. When a beam of light rays passed through a sphere, it will divide into 7 colours namely Violet, Indigo, Brown. Green , Yellow, Orange and Red. Red always as the last colour since its wavelength is small as compared to Violet which comes first.
Now in the morning, when Sun rises in east and when sunrays comes at an angle of 45 degrees, that time if there is rain is coming, then sunrays passes through these droplets of rain which acts as a sphere and get refracted thus giving rise to 7 colours. Hence rainbow occurs in west. Same happens when Sun is going to set in west direction and rainbow occurs in east direction.
It is the main principle behind rainbow and why it is not seen in north or south direction.

Me and monkeys

                                        Me and monkeys

Today, when I was sitting in portico, I heard some noise. In the beginning, I was getting scared. But now I am not. Because I know it is the sound made by monkeys when they are climbing the coconut tree and drinking tender coconuts.
I was sitting in the same place observing the coconut trees. I observed the monkeys going from tree to tree as if they planted the trees.! Then for sometime there was silence. I thought it must be the lunch break for monkeys. But I was wrong.
Soon, my waiting for monkeys ended. Monkeys got down the tree and came near me ! There were 2 of them. They are least afraid of humans. May be they are thinking that they have tails and we dont ! That is the only difference. I thought may be Hanuman of Ramayan was also like this.
I wanted to become their friend. But they left. I was calling. But listening to my voice, they ran away. I decided not to make sound when monkeys come to visit me, next time!.

Every house has cockroaches. The speciality of cockroach is that it can survive if there is a nuclear bomb explosion.
Now, sometimes cockroaches fall on the floor on their back. They cant get back to their initial position quickly. there is a simple theory behind this.
It is all because of point of center of gravity. Since it lies in the position where fallen cockroach can not retrive it, it is difficult for it to come to its natural position.

But her father was having the mentality that why should waste the money on girls when they are destined to get married !
Rahul got the new cycle. He was very happy that he wanted to go on a ride. Eventhough it had rained in morning and soil is still wet, he was adamant to go on a ride.
Finally, his parents had agreed . Rahul went for riding. But as the road was slippery, he could not find balance and he fell down from cycle.
He was badly hurt. He was lying on road . He could not get up as he had broken his pelvic bones. Rahul's sister was back to home after finishing her school. She witnessed what had happened. She felt happy that Rahul met with accident.
But after listening to his cry for help, her heart melted down and she rushed to help her brother. After seeing Rahul's condition, she immediately joined him to a nearby hospital. But on a hurry, she forgot to inform her parents about the incident.
Parents have come to know about incident somehow. They rushed to hospital. There, they have come to know what had happened.
They were now proud of their daughter. Rahul's sister confessed that earlier she had thought of abandoning Rahul at his condition. But then she thought that Rahul is her own brother.
It is her duty to help him. Hence she admitted him to hospital. Her parents realised that this type of mentality can be present only in girls , not in boys. They decided that they will encourage her in her each activity. They were sure that she will never misuse her freedom.

A gift by monkey !

                                   A gift by monkey !

In our area, monkey menace is more. Monkey dont leave anything for us, humans. They think everything is made for them.
Last week, in morning I saw a monkey climbing the coconut tree to drink tender coconuts. We can not do anything but to watch silently.
After some time, it was gone. Father took a walk around the trees to figure out what had happened. That time, he observed 2 tender coconuts on the ground.
The situation may be like this. Monkey climbed coconut tree to drink tender coconut. While plucking the tender coconuts, some of them were slipped from its hand.
As it is not intelligent like me, it didnt come to know what had happened. It drank whatever it had got , went away. 2 tender coconuts hence were for us.
An idea come to my mind. Anyway, here is the labour problem for plucking the tender coconuts. If monkeys are so broad minded that they climb tree and pluck tender coconut for us, then I will allow them to drink some of them as in return for their hardwork.
Thus, we both humans and monkeys can live with harmony. !

By listening to the words, Ramu changed his plan.
