It was an ancient gurukula where students can learn from their Guru ( teacher ) , living with him . This method helps students to excel in every part of day to day life .


Once , Guru went for hunting in the forest with his 2 students . There they saw group of rabbits . Guru asked his students to catch atleast one of the rabbits . Both the students went on to catch .


After some time , one of them returned with empty hand . Soon the other one returned , holding a rabbit in his hand .


Guru asked them to explain their work . First student said " I tried very hard to catch the rabbit . If the rabbit I was chasing , was escaping ; then I was trying to catch the other one . Like this , it went on and I could not catch any of them ."


Guru turned to the other student and asked him to explain . He said , " I was focusing on only one rabbit in the group . I chased it wherever it went . Finally , I caught hold of it . "


This story teaches us the importance of focusing on a work . To achieve something , we must focus on , only that work completely . Nothing can be achieved by having multiple goles at at a time 

Hardik Pandya's befitting reply to critics

Hardik Pandya is known as an all rounder . But in recent times , he was out of form in both batting and bowling . I am a follower of him since couple of years . There were times , I was watching cricket match just for Hardik Pandya batting .


But slowly he became out of form . In on going cricket test match series against England in their home ground , Indian players are struggling with both bat and ball . But only Hardik Pandya was targeted for the failure .


Ex player , Harbhajan Singh openly attacked Hardik Pandya for failure . He went on to the extent that Hardik Pandya is not suitable to call as an all rounder .

Few days back , Hardik Pandya was trolled for posting a travel photo on social media site . He was criticized for not helping Indian cricket team on ground .

But Hardik Pandya has given befitting reply to critics by his career best 5 wickets for just 28 runs in England first innings in the 3rd test cricket match against England . Because of this , India has got the lead of 168 runs .

It must be noted that Hardik Pandya's career best feat is achieved in overseas that too in a test match . That makes this special .

Talent can not be hidden . It will come to notice , one or the other day .

My nephew and his knowledge about Gandhiji

Yesterday was the independence day , Aug 15 . My nephew , Anirudh ,who is 4 year old , was very excited . He had gathered some information about freedom and freedom fighters .

Since morning , he was shouting  Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram . He is well aware of the fact that Gandhiji is our father of nation and he was born on 2nd October 1869 .

I was quite impressed by his knowledge . I wanted to teach him some more facts about Gandhiji . This is how it went on -------


Me : Who is our father of nation ?

Anirudh : Mahatma Gandhiji .

Me : When did he born ?

Anirudh : 2 October , 1869 .

Me : Do you know how he died ?

Anirudh : He died because of old age !

Recently , our relative had a natural death . She was 80 year old . Thus , anirudh has come to a conclusion that everyone dies as they get old !

Why are Indian flags brought down at sunset ?

Indian national flag is the pride of our country . It represents the hopes and aspirations of us , Indians .

There are certain flag codes to hoist the flag . Indian national flag is hoisted only when there is enough lighting towards the flag .


Hoisting the Indian national flag after sunset that is under low lighting is considered as showing disrespect towards the flag .


But if proper lighting is available , then Indian national flag can be hoisted beyond sunset also  .

Thermal pollution

We are familiar with the words air pollution, water pollution and noise pollution. But thermal pollution is happening mainly because of industrialization though there are  very rare natural causes of it.


What is thermal pollution?

Thermal pollution is defined as the sudden increase or decrease in the temperature of a natural body of water by human influence.


Main cause of thermal pollution is using the water as cooling agent in power, manufacturing and industrial plants. Other causes are soil erosion and deforestation. Natural causes like volcanoes and geothermal activities under ocean and seas also contribute though it is very rare.

Effects of thermal pollution



The serious effect is decrease in the dissolved oxygen level. This results in increase in toxins , loss of bio diversity, migration of aquatic life.

India has given the 1000th test cricket match to England as a gift by losing.

Yesterday was the 4th day of test match against England . It was having importance as it was the 1000th test cricket match played by England .

I had a feeling that Indian cricket team has given the result of this important cricket match as a gift to England by losing it.

To win the match , India had to score just 194 . Though it was a bowling track and difficult to bat , bowlers of both the sides had shown that batting can be done on this track .

When I started watching the cricket match , India needed just 80 runs to win . Kohli and Hardik Pandya were on crease .

I thought target is achievable . But only Hardik Pandya sticked to the crease . Rest of them did pavilion parade. I agree that the batsmen who were on the list to come are bowlers . But English bowlers did batting well . Why can't Indian bowlers ?


The target could be chased if any of the batsman glued to the crease firmly . But England made their 1000th cricket match memorable by winning it .

Why does the ring finger nail grow quickest ?

The above question may sound childish . I was trimming my overgrown finger nails yesterday and I observed that the ring finger nail has grown much more than the other finger nails and more than that , my right hand ring finger nail is much longer than left hand !



To understand the reason behind this , we need a good knowledge of science .


First , I will tell why ring finger nail has grown much quicker .


Out of our all 5 fingers of a hand , ring finger and the last finger are least used in our daily life . Though all the finger nails grow in the same rate , the finger nail of other fingers except ring finger and the last finger get worn out easily .

I am a right handed person . Obviously I use right hand more than the left hand . So my body pumps in more nutrients through blood flow to right hand than the left one .


If we are left handed , finger nails of left hand would have grown more faster than the right hand !!!
