Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

It was the match to decide who is going to home first !!!

According to me, first 4 places are already decided. They are 

1.  India 

2. South Africa

3. New Zealand 

4. Australia 

I don't remember of watching India vs South Africa match in this world cup. 

I think India still didn't play against South Africa. 

It would be a good match to watch. 

All other matches are featuring other teams than the above are just for name sake. 

I would prefer to watch chota bheem in that time .

In yesterday's match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, Afghanistan has won.

Sri Lanka is out of the tournament. 

But Afghanistan has a chance of be among 4 nations to semis as it is now in 5th position. 

But it has to win all the remaining matches........ 

Now whole world cup is in interesting stage 

India vs England cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between India and England.

This match is not having any importance as England is already at the bottom last position in points table. 

If England win or lose this match, it is not going to make any difference to anyone !!!!

We can say that England is playing just for their pride as they are the last year 2022 champions  !!!

I was not interested to watch the match but I changed my mind when I came to know that India is batting first. 

India had a very slow opening. First over was a maidens over.!!!!

Just to cross the 100 run milestone, India had taken full 25  overs.

With that, they had lost 3 wickets too... 

Opening batsman Rohit Sharma after scoring 50, played some scoring shots. 

He got out after scoring 87 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja didn't stand for long. 

But Surya was able to score a 49 runs in present world cup for the first time. 

At the end of the innings,, India was able to score 229 runs with the help of the tail enders......

I was thinking that India has posted an easy and very low score. 

But England had lost 4 wickets just for 40 runs  !!!!!

England batting order falling cheap.

England were all out just for 129 runs. 

England really need to reconstruct their team.

With this, India has won all the 6 matches it has played........

Virat Kohli has created a record of getting duck out ( getting out at 0 run) even though facing 9 balls !!!! 

Australia vs New Zealand cricket match

 Yesterday's match was between Australia and New Zealand.

New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first. 

But it proved to be a big mistake.

Australian batsmen started roaring from the first ball. 

They were making 10 runs per over . 

They crossed 100 run mark in just 10 overs. 

All other Australian batsmen scored well. 

At the end of the innings, Australia piled up a huge score of  388 runs. 

Now it is up to New Zealand to chase the total...... 

Start of New Zealand was not good as they had lost  2 wickets very early. 

But later batsmen managed to score runs. 

It was evident that New Zealand was giving a fight back and not going to surrender. 

Final 5 overs are full of tension. 

Anything could  happen.  

I am writing about how the chase went..... 

 New Zealand needed 32 runs from 12 balls.

New Zealand needed 19 runs from 7 balls

New Zealand needed 13 runs from 5 balls. 

New Zealand needed 9 runs from 3 balls. 

In the final two balls New Zealand required 6 runs. 

But the batsman got run out and the new batsman could only get single run. 

So, Australia won by 5 runs. 

Australia won in a thriller. 

But New Zealand won heart by its chasing sportive spirit...... 

South Africa vs Pakistan cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between South Africa and Pakistan.

South Africa bowled first. 

Pakistan had lost early wickets. But in middle order Pakistani captain managed a strong partnership. 

They slowly went on adding up the runs.

Finally Pakistan was all out for 270 runs. 

This match is very important for Pakistan, if they lose this match, their World Cup journey almost gets ended. 

Tension was created that Pakistani partnership was growing at different stages. 

One of the viewers had already guessed that Pakistan is going to score big and South Africa is going to be chokers once again under pressure. 

Both of the teams don't want to lose the match. 

A fight is definitely going to happen which is the real beauty of one day matches. 

South African bowlers managed to end Pakistani innings for 270 runs. 

South Africa didn't let any partnership to get bigger... 

When comes to batting, South Africa has a big list of batsmen who can score. 

When South Africa started their innings, even they lost first wicket very early.

Aden Markham has powered South Africa with his batting.

The end of the match was nail biting.... 

South African batsmen struggled to give answer to bowling attack of Pakistan. 

It was difficult to predict who may win till the end. 

But finally South Africa won by one wicket....... 

This shows how was the level of fighting...... 

England vs Sri Lanka cricket match

 Yesterday's match was not an one sided match.

Match was between England and Sri Lanka. 

Sri Lanka bowled first and bowled really well. 

 Such that  batting England were all out just for 156 runs !!!

When the play got started, I didn't know that England is going to play this much bad.......

No English batsman could score a 50.

They have really surrendered to Sri Lankan bowling.......

Result of this match is crucial for both the teams. 

Both the teams are in lower part of point table.

Sri Lanka started their innings by losing 2 wickets early.

But in the middle order, they had a very important partnership of 100 runs.

Sri Lanka easily won the match.... 

Australia vs Netherlands cricket match

 One more one sided cricket match......

Yesterday Australia vs Netherlands cricket match. 

Australia finished its innings by scoring 399 runs. 

It is the highest ever ODI score by any team. 

No team could chase this huge total.

I pity for Netherlands team ....... 

The psychological pressure is such on them that they were all out for just 90 runs.

The fault is of batting friendly pitches...... 

These pitches are not scaring batsmen and they could play any scoring shots easily....

May be Netherlands team still need time to get adjust to this type of scenario. 

But these type of one sided matches kill my interest of watching.....!!!! 

South Africa vs Bangladesh cricket match

 Yesterday's match was between South Africa and Bangladesh.

It had become a one sided match........

South Africa batted first after winning the toss. 

South Africa piled up runs such that they had posted 382 runs in 50 overs !!!!

South Africa is a strong team and if they give target like this, what would be the mental condition of opponent team ???

Bangladesh were struggling at 58 runs for 5 wickets...... 

Bangladeshi batsmen didn't give a fight also...... 

Bangladesh team had started their innings with the mindset of losing the game. 

This is definitely a one sided game. 

I wonder how South Africa lost to Netherlands ???? 

Koun Banega Karodpati question

Recently when I was watching Koun Banega Karodpati program, I came across this question.

Question 

What is at gaseous state in room temperature ?

1.  Oxygen 

2. Mercury 

3. Iron

4. Chlorine 

Now let us try to answer this question. 

At room temperature, mercury is always in liquid state.

Iron is always at solid state. 

We all know that oxygen is always in gaseous state. 

Wait...... Wait..... 

What about chlorine ?

Since my  school days , I have always thought that

Chlorine is present in the gaseous state at room temperature...... 

According to that, both Chlorine and Oxygen will be the answer to the question.

But contestant replied oxygen. 

Amitabh Bacchan said it is the correct answer........ 

My doubt remained as it is ........ 

India vs New Zealand cricket match

 Yesterday India vs New Zealand cricket match.

In 20 years of world cup history,, India has not won against New Zealand. 

Yesterday India won the toss and decided to bowl first. 

The first 10 overs, India did tight bowling and fielding. 

Because of that, got 2 wickets too

Ravindra Jadeja has dropped an easy catch,.... 

This fourth wicket partnership grew for more than 150 runs all thanks to poor Indian fielding.

As the time passed, we could see improvement in bowling and fielding of India. 

Shami was the most successful bowler. 

Shami had given the ball to play in the last over of match. 

In the final over, first ball was 6 and the next was a 4.

But the next ball he has taken the wicket of the centunary batsman.!!!!!

Finally New Zealand were all out for 273 runs. 

India started chasing and crossed 50 run mark in just 8 overs. 

Both of the opening batsmen were in attacking mood. 

When India had scored 102 runs for 2 wickets, incleme8 weather has stopped the play, 

India needed 69 runs from 83 balls and Surya is out !!!! 

Virat Kohli along with Ravindra Jadeja, handled Indian batting. 

Kohli scored 95 runs, missed century. 

But India won the match. 

Shami was the man of the match for his 5 wickets haul. 

South Africa vs England cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between South Africa and England.

Both teams are equally strong and I thought good cricket would be played. 

South Africa batted first and scored 399 runs in 50 overs !!!!

Unbelievable !!!!

I thought even England has good batsmen. 

I hoped to watch a good fight by England. 

But England were struggling at 51 runs  for 4 wickets at the start of 9 overs. 

Now target is big and England has already lost key batsmen.

This match is going to be the one sided match. 

I thought like that....... 

But in middle  and lower order, English batsmen played some scoring shots.

Target is mammoth and less wickets....... 

The loss to South Africa was inevitable for England. 

Australia and Pakistan cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between Australia and Pakistan.

It was the match between the passengers of same boat. 

The condition of both the teams are same. 

Yesterday surprisingly Pakistan decided to bowl first in spite of winning the toss. 

Australia has taken the good advantage of it !!!

20 overs passed. No wickets. 

Australia has built a strong partnership of 250 runs for the first wicket  !!!! 

The way Australians are batting, posting a score of 400 runs in 50 overs is not impossible .... 

Pakistani bowlers are getting punished....... 

Both opening batsmen of Australia have scored centuries. 

Pakistan will definitely repent for bowling first  !!!! 

First wicket of Australia fallen  at 32 nd over !!!

Later suddenly Pakistani bowling and fielding got improved. 

At the end, Australia had scored 367 runs for 8 wickets. 

Pakistan gave a good fight to Australia when chasing.

But middle order batsmen could not continue the same pace. 

Finally Pakistan could get only 305 runs. 

Australia won the match because of its first wicket partnership. 

India vs Bangladesh cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between India and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh decided to bat first. 

Their opening batsmen built a good partnership. 

None of them were getting out !!!

I didn't feel like watching the game. 

Again I started to watch from 40th over. 

That time itself Bangladesh had lost 6 wickets. 

Fielding of India was at super level and Jadeja and Gill took some difficult catches easily. 

At the end of the match, Bangladesh scored 256 runs for 8 wickets. 

They would have been at 250 runs...... But at the last ball of the last over, Bangladeshi batsman had hit a 6.

Indian chasing was full of fireworks. 

Opening batsmen Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill were thrashing Bangladeshi bowlers, one after another, with boundaries and sixes. 

A usual Rohit Sharma was too aggressive but lost his wicket when he was nearing half century. 

Virat Kohli helped India to cross 100 runs all thanks to 2 consecutive no-balls from opponent bowler.

At this point itself, India was confirmed of winning the match. 

Virat Kohli continued his super batting skills and scored a century and unbeaten. 

Netherlands vs South Africa cricket match

 After watching Afghanistan defeating England, one more match which definitely surprised everyone is yesterday's match.

Yes. I am writing about Netherlands vs South Africa cricket match. 

I started to watch from the 40th over. 

Because of rain delay, match was  reduced for 43 overs only. 

As I was watching, Netherlands had crossed 200 mark !!!!

Netherlands batsman, Aryan Dutt was playing at no 8.

He scored 26 runs in just 9 balls !!!!

He was just touching the ball with the bat, ball is directly going for a 6.

He didn't leave any South African bowler unpunished.!!!!

Most famous bowlers like Rabada and Keshav Maharaj could not do anything but to watch.

Finally, Netherlands closed their innings by posting 241 runs. 

With this, Netherlands batsmen stole everyone's heart with their heroic performance.

Even in bowling and fielding, Netherlands outsmarted strong team like South Africa. 

All round performance by Netherlands. 

South Africa lost to Netherlands by 30 runs. 

Afghan toofan !!

 Dark horse Afghanistan has defeated world champion England in yesterday's match !!!!

Afghanistan batted first and scored 284 runs.

England were all out for just 215 runs. 

Opening batsmen of Afghanistan built a strong foundation of 100 runs. 

It was the all round show of Afghanistan. 

For England,  top order batsmen failed.. 

Many of them scored below 50 runs. 

Failure of batsmen is the main reason for loss of England. 

India crush Pakistan

 Pakistan were 155 for 2 wickets at the middle of the match.

Finally, 191 runs all out at 43 over !!!!

The above lines show how  the match between India and Pakistan went on yesterday.

India has won the toss and decided to bowl first.  Pakistani batsmen were going good.

For the 2nd wicket partnership, Pakistan seemed as though they were going to score big. 

But when this partnership was broken, Pakistan batting order started collapsing such that they didn't complete 50 overs quota also !!!!

Bumra and  Kuldip Yadav took quick wickets of middle order of Pakistani batting. 

The target given to India is small.

Till now, Pakistan never won against India in world cup matches. 

Yesterday's match is the new chapter added to India and Pakistan in world cup matches !!!

Pakistani batsmen didn't hit a single 6 in their innings !!!!

But Rohit Sharma had hit many 6s in this match.

All the sixes in the match scored by Indian batsmen themselves  !!!!!

Was there a cricket match?

 I am fully confused.

I heard that there is going to be a match between New Zealand and Bangladesh. 

But I didn't find it yesterday on TV. 

Today's newspaper also not having any news.

But today India and Pakistan match confirmed !!!!

Yesterday was the match between India and Afghanistan. 

Afghanistan batted first and because of loose bowling of India had scored 271 runs.

Rest of the match comprised of batting of roHIT Sharma !!!

Sri Lankan cricket team did not break the world record. 

But it lost to Pakistan.

  Few days back ,  South Africa has created history  . Its 3 batsmen scored centuries in the same innings . Opponent was Sri Lanka .

Yesterday was the match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan 

This time  , its Sri Lanka 's turn  !!!!!

3 Sri Lankan batsmen have scored centuries against Pakistan in yesterday's match.

At the end of the match,  Sri Lanka scored 344 runs for 9 wickets.

I didn't watch batting of Pakistan. I heard in the middle order, they had a good partnership and they've won the match. 

Indian spinners had spin a web around Australians

 Yesterday was the match between India and Australia.

Australia had won the toss and decided to bat first.

From the beginning, I felt Australian batsmen were playing carefully ......

No big shots .....

Reason might have been India's good bowling and fielding.

Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja shined by taking 3 vital wickets of Australia.

None of the Australian batsmen could score a half century .

Finally Australia was all out for exactly 199 runs, thus giving the target of 200 runs to India.

Starting condition of India was worst than Australia.

Before reaching the first 5 overs, India had lost first important  3 wickets. 

After falling of early wickets, Rahul and Kohli built a steady and strong partnership. 

Both of them reached their 50. 

The duo were able to achieve the small total. 

Rahul missed his century. He scored 97 runs. He was unbeaten at the end. 

South Africa vs Sri Lanka cricket match

 Yesterday there was a match between Sri Lanka and South Africa.

I only watched South African batting innings as they have batted first.

That too from overs 40 to 50 !!!

I was the witness of the world record created by South Africa  !!!

The firework batting by Aiden Markram was unbelievable.

He scored his century in just 49 balls !!! 

South Africa created a world record in one day international cricket by scoring 428 runs in 50 overs.

Another world record is 3 batsmen scoring centuries in same innings !!!

Sri Lanka though scored 326 runs when chasing, but could not be the match to South Africa. 

Green drought

 Nowadays in the newspaper there are reports about green drought.

The term drought refers to unavailability of drinking water for both animals and plants. 

But what is this green drought ??

The term is being used because in some regions, there has been enough rainfall for some shallow rooted vegetation to grow.

In farmer regions, the fields look green. But this green colour comes from the weeds and other undesirable plants.

In a green drought, none of the fallen rain water, penetrates into deeper parts of the soil profile.

There is not enough rain to saturate the soil.

The same situation is now in our state, Karnataka.

I read the question , but I read only leap year  !!!

It is a human tendency to form a question by our own after listening to the most heard word.

Without reading the question completely , I decided answer is February 29. Because  it is a leap year !!!

As the program went on , I realized it is not February 29.

But answer is April  31 !!!  Not only in a leap year  , in any year April 31 will not be there.

Because April month has only 30 days  !!! Every year .

ಈ 15 ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮಾಡುವ ಅನ್ನ ದಾನ ಬಹು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಪರಿಚಿತರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಊಟ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Childhood of Gandhiji

 Tomorrow is Gandhi Jayanti.

Gandhiji ' s father is Karamchand Gandhi.

Karamchand had a very little formal education. But his knowledge and experience made him a good administrator.

He was brave and generous but had very bad temper. 

Gandhiji' s mother is Putlibai. 

She was deeply religious. Everyday she worshipped at the temple. She was widely respected for her wisdom and good sense.

Gandhiji or Mohandas is the youngest of 6 children.

He was the favourite child of the family. He was called Moniya by his parents and friends.

As a child, Moniya liked to stay at home.

If one of his brothers tease him, he always complain to his mother.

Mother would ask why didn't you hit him?

Moniya would say, how can you teach me to hit people, mother?

Why should I hit anyone?

This was his prompt reply. 

His mother often wondered, from where her little son got such ideas??

This shows from the childhood, Gandhiji was non violence minded.
