Who is a true follower?

                                     Who is a true follower?

Bhagwan Buddha was about to give lecture to the surrounding audience. At that time a man came. Seeing his condition, the surrounding people didnt allow him to enter. The man was very furious for denying the permission.
Seeing all the chaos going on, Buddha came and enquired near his followers about the chaos. Followers told everything. Listening to that, Buddha said the man must wait outside for half an hour. Surprised followers asked the reason.
Buddha said that the man has argued with his wife for silly matter and thrashed her also. So he must wait outside till his mental condition is normal. Even man listened to this. He was fully ashamed himself. He waited outside as said by Buddha. He entered the venue in a relaxed mind.
Buddha said people who have come to listen to lecture, must come with free mind. Then only, the purpose of giving lecture would be fulfilled.

Think before telling anything

                          Think before telling anything

In a city, there lived a woman. She was worried as her son is very ill. She has consulted many doctors in order to save her son. But all medications failed.
At that time, a doctor came to her house. He said he will cure her son of his disease. Lady was very happy. Doctor inspected boy and said he will come tomorrow with necessary medicines. He assured her that those medicines will surely work.
Being said these, doctor went out through the door. As he was about to cross threshold, he got a severe heart attack and fell down there. Lady rang the ambulance. But he was no more while the ambulance came. Lady was very upset.
It is a paradox that the doctor who can not guess his own death, is telling that he will cure the another ailing person. The truth is that our death is not in our hand. Birth of a person is accidental. But the death of same person no one can tell . It is a must.

Ask owners before taking

                             Ask owners before taking

It was mango season. In the village, there are many mango farms. Children were playing there. They spotted a mango tree with ripe and juicy mangoes. As they were small, they didnt know how to climb tree. But they were having the ambition to eat mangoes. Now what to do? They started throwing stones at tree so that any of the mangoes will fall down.
But bad luck, no mango did fall. But they continued their try. They continued throwing stones. At the other side of tree, a man was sleeping under the shade of the tree. A stone hit him. He got hurt and started bleeding. Now he came infront of children with his bleeding head.
Children are horrified to see a bleeding man. They knew that he got hurt because of the stones thrown by them. They were afraid that man may scold them or may hit them also. By seeing their worried faces, man smiled. He said the children not to get scared.
He said " Even if you throw stones at tree, it will give back fruits to you without complaining. When a tree can do that, how can I punish you? I will not punish you people. But from next time, ask the owner that you want to take something. Dont take anything unless asking permission by respective owner of the thing ." Listening to this, children ran near the owner of the mango farm to ask his permission to take mangoes.

Disappointment

                                      Disappointment

Sunil is a lazy person. Even more he is an idiot. He is not using his brains for small things also. Here is an incidence to illustrate this.
Sunil met with an accident . He has lost his leg. Now he has attached a wooden leg in place of real leg. No one can make out that he has lost his leg. One day he was walking on street. He spotted a mango tree nearby. It was having ripe mangoes.
By seeing that, Sunil had an ambition of eating one of the mangoes. But he cant climb the tree. He looked down. He thought if he can find some pebbles, he will throw them at mangoes which are hanging on tree. But bad luck, he could not find anything.
His desire of eating mangoes is so strong that he could not resist the temptation. Idiot as he his, he removed his wooden leg. He threw the artificial leg on nearby mango hanging, thinking that it may fall down for the impact of throwing.
But once again bad luck, mango didnt fall but his wooden leg got stuck in one of branches of tree. Sunil tried to shake the tree so that his wooden leg will fall down. But no use. Then he thought he will wait under the tree so that a strong breeze will blow and his wooden leg will fall down.
He sat under the tree. Passer-by people saw him asked him for the reason that he was sitting under the tree. But idiot as he is, he still didnt ask for help. Like this, days passed. Sunil was weak due to hungryness and he was thirsty too. And one day he died waiting for a strong breeze to blow and he will get back his wooden leg and can walk back to his home.

Yajnavalya till now has not told anybody about that. But how can he tell no to wife? He came with an idea. He called his wife . He told his wife that he will teach her Brahma Jnana but on a condition that she must obey him. She can take all the wealth he has.
Mitrayi thought for a moment. She said "Do you think all this wealth has helped you to acquire the knowledge? You had studied well. If anyone can get knowledge just by noticing it or by telling that you know that ,then the knowledge will get spoiled."
Yagnavalkya  began to think. He realised what his wife is telling is true. Just by keeping the knowledge to oneself, doesnt help. We must share what we know with others

ಅರಬ್ಬಿ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೂಫಾನು ಎದ್ದಿದೆ
ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಯು ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ;

Tricky answer

                                       Tricky answer

Once God Vishnu was resting on milk sea with his wife Lakshmi. At that time, Shani Maharaj came to talk with Vishnu. By seeing Shani, who is the owner of bad luck, Lakshmi who is also the goddess of wealth asked her husband who is good among them.
Now Vishnu is in a fix. If he tells Shani brings misery to people he may get angry and can give trouble to Vishnu himself. If he tells against Lakshmi then she may get angry. As she is his wife, she may turn life to hell for Vishnu.
Then Vishnu thought of a plan. He showed a banyan tree which is infront of them, and told them that they have to touch the tree and come back as soon as they can. Both of them agreed. Lakshmi went quickly near the tree ,touched it and came back.
But Shani started walking ,limping all his way as he is disabaled. Shani thought Vishnu is making fun of him by telling this. But he didnt tell anything. He finished the task. He also returned near Vishnu. Now both Shani and Lakshmi are eagerly waiting for judgement.
Then Vishnu said " Lakshmi , you look nice when you are coming towards us. Shani ,you look nice when you are going away from us ". By  listening to this, both of them were happy. Vishnu told the truth but in a tricky format.

ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ಯಾವುದೂ ನಡೆಯದೆ ನಿರಾಸೆ ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದೆ;

How did ancestors come to know time?

How did ancestors come to know time?

In yester years, clock was not there. But also people used to come to know the time. They were putting a stick infront of Sun. On the position of the image of stick, they were coming to know whether it is aftrnoon or evening. Later developments happened.
Alfread was the king of England. At that time, people have invented candles. A candle will take complete 8 hours to burn completely. Alfread divided timings of a day into 3 parts. He used to lit a candle morning as the sun rises. That is 7 o'clock. It takes its time to burn i.e. 8 hours. Means it will be exactly 1 o'clock in afternoon when the candle burning is over.
At that time, one more candle is lit. Then it will take another 8 hours. Then it will be exactly 9 o'clock in night. Like this, theu were coming to know the timing. Then there is an invention of clocks to find correct timing second by second.

Lesson taught by dream

                               Lesson taught by dream

Long ago, there was a village. In the village, femine was there. As a result people are not having water for their work. But the head of village is a wealthy man. He had a well inside his house. Surprise thing is, eventhough there is  femine, in the well there is plenty of water.
People came near head of village, requested him that they  will use the water of his well. Greedy as he is, he said that if they want to use water, they must pay for it. People had no other option they agreed cursing the head. Head was happy.
In night, he had a dream. He was riding his horse. He came across a desert. His horse had wound itself some how and could not be fit for riding. Head left horse there itself. He started to  walk in desert. In some time, because of sunrays, he felt thirsty.
But there is nothing to drink. He started to walk again with difficulty. There he saw gold coins. He filled his pockets with them. After that he found diamonds on the way. He regretted that he would have brought more bags so that he can carry all of them.
He started walking. He found skeletons. Then he realised that these are of merchants who were passing the desert. Because of heat, all of them died and their wealth is here itself. He got scared that the same situation may happen to him.
Then he woke up from his dream. He realised that god taught him a lesson by the dream. He vowed that he will allow people to use well water without charging money and  he will start helpimg needy.

Presence of God

                                     Presence of God

Guru Govind Singh was preaching that God is present inside everyone and inside every creature. His students were listening to this. Amongst them, one thought that he must check the truthness of line. As he was passing, he saw an elephant which was totally lost control of his mahout. Mahout was struggling to control and make elephant to listen to his words.
At that time, this student came on way. He saw the elephant. He thought God is inside the elephant and also God is inside him. So, God wont fight with himself. He thought like this, went near elephant. By seeing this, mahout was horrified.
He yelled that elephant is in angry mood. It may hurt the man if he come infront of it. But student didnt listen to mahout. He went near elephant. Elephant was angry by seeing this fellow. It threw him aside by its trunk. Student got badly hurt.
He came near his master with pain and said him that he gave false lectures. Guru Govind Singh listened to everything and said "Why didnt you listen to God inside mahout? God was giving warning to you. But you neglected it and hurt yourself".
Student realised along with belief in God, commonsense is also required.

Samudra Mathana

                                                 Samudra Mathana

Once the King of Devata Indra was taking a ride on his royal elephant . That time saint Doorvasa came on same way. He saw Indra and on the pretext of blessings, he gave a flower garland to Indra. But Indra threw that garland on his elephant. Garland fell down under the legs of elephant. Elephant stepped on that. Garland was broken into pieces.
Doorvasa was seeing all this. He got very angry as Indra insulted him. He gave a curse to Indra saying that he will lose his kingdom. But Indra didnt care for it and moved on. As per the curse, there was a big fight between demons and devas. Indra got defeated.
His kingdom was lost. He realised his fault and went near Vishnu and begged him for mercy. Vishnu told a plan. In the plan devas and demons must go for samudra mathana so that they can get divine syrup amruta. Vishnu said demons will surely agree for this as to achieve immortality by drinking amruta. Vishnu himself will help devas in order to get back their kingdom.
Indra went with the offer near demons. Demons readily agreed for that. Likewise they requested serpant King Vasuki to act as thread. They selected Mountain Mandara for grinding purpose. Demons held mouth of Vasuki and devas his tail.
Grinding of milk sea started. All things came  as poison, elephant, pearl etc. Poison was drank by Lord Shiva, elephant was taken by Indra and pearl by Vishnu. Then came much awaited amruta. Devas and demons started arguing that they own it. Then Vishnu took the form of a beautiful girl Mohini.
Everyone were captivated by her beauty. Mohini said that she will distribute amruta between devas and demons equally. All agreed for that. But Mohini gave amruta to devas only. Demons didnt come know of it. Thus , Indra got rid of curse and got back his kingdom also.
