How Naseeruddin handled the situation......

 It was late in the evening.

Naseeruddin was walking up and down in verandah in great tension. 

Wife of Naseeruddin was surprised by watching this. She never saw her husband like this before. 

She asked Naseeruddin to tell the reason for his tension. 

Naseeruddin said that he had borrowed some money from his friend and assured him that he would return the money by month end.

Tomorrow is the month end but Naseeruddin don't have any money with him to pay the friend. 

That's why he was restless.

Listening to that, wife asked him to tell his friend that he can't repay the money. 

Naseeruddin agreed and went to his friend's house.

When he returned, he was relaxed and happy. 

Wife asked for the reason. 

Naseeruddin said, "I said to friend that I cannot repay the money.  Now he is walking up and down in the verandah  !!!!" 

Mighty Indian batting show

 Yesterday was the second ODI match between India and Australia.

This match is the do or die match for Australia. If they lose this match , they lose the series itself.

Following the footsteps of India that India had bowled first in the previous match , Australia chose to bowl first after winning the toss.

They were right when India lost one of its opening batsman quickly.

But Gill and Shreyas built a strong partnership of 200 runs. Both of them are scoring boundaries and sixes in competition with each other   !!!!

Both of them scored centuries. 

Ishan entertained by hitting sixes  !!! 

No words to describe Surya 's batting ...... 

He has hit 4 consecutive 6s in just one over !!! 

Surya scored a half century which consists of mainly 6s.

He has ended Indian innings by scoring 72 runs in just 37 balls.  He was unbeaten. 

India were at 399 runs at the end of 50 overs. 

It is impossible for Australia to beat India. 

Scorching Surya is really hot !!!!

 Yesterday was ODI between India and Australia

Though India has won the toss , it decided to bowl first.

As the play started in afternoon , it is visible that Indian bowlers were wilting under scorching Sun

Australia finished its innings by scoring 276 runs . Shami has taken 5 wickets .

Indian openers had built a strong foundation for their innings. Both of them scored 70s.

But in middle order batsmen got out quickly.

Match got interesting when 42 runs required from 46 balls  !!!

Rahul and Surya Kumar Yadav built a good partnership. 

I believe sixer from Surya is a tension easing development. 

When 12 runs are required from 20 balls, Surya got out. 

Last ball sixer from Rahul ended the match with win of India . 

Amorphous ice..

 We all know that when water freezes, it crystallises.

Its molecules gets arranged in the familiar hexagonal  solid structure that we call ICE.

Though it is a crystal, ice has an unusual property for a crystal.

Unlike the other crystals which sink in water, ice floats.

Ice is less denser than its liquid water form.

Amorphous ice is different.

This ice is not in crystalline form.

This ice appeared as a white granular powder that sticks to metal pieces.

This ice matches the structure and density of water. 

The ice is formed when regular ice is shook in the small container with the stainless steel balls at the temperature of - 200 degree Celsius. 

Kids are always kids !!!

 This incident happened when my nephew ( brother's son ) was going to LKG school.

Anirudh had come to spend Dussera vacation.

He was sharing his experience in school with me.

I asked him who is his best friend in class ??

He said Janabi.

I thought it as a weird name. I judged it as a Muslim name.

I asked him whether is she a Muslim ?

He said I don't know.

I said to myself why to divide the children on basis of their religion ??

I changed the topic and started playing with him.

Soon Anirudh's mother that is my sister in law joined us.

I asked her Is Aniruddha has a Muslim best friend  by the name Janabi  ??

She had a good laugh. 

She said It's not Janabi.

   Her name is Jahnavi  !!! 

Siraj super 6

 Yesterday was Sunday and also the day of Asia cup final match between India and Sri Lanka.

Match begins at afternoon 3 o'clock.

It was raining and I thought I will take a quick nap  and then start watching the match.

When I started watching Sri Lanka was batting. 

I just had a look at score. 

It read 16 runs for 6 wickets !!!!

I rubbed my eyes....... 

I could not believe. All credits go for Indian fast bowlers specially Mohd Siraj.

Finally, Sri Lanka were all out for just 50 runs !!!

Man of the match must be given to Siraj.. 

He has given 21 runs and took 6 wickets. 

Someone in twitter said,

In tetra yug , Hanuman burnt  Lanka

In kaliyug,  Siraj burnt Lanka   !!!!

2 pin switch and 3 pin switch

 In our house, we use many electrical equipments.

They have different ways of connection. Some have 3 pin wires and some have 2 pin wires. 

If the electrical appliance uses high current then it will have 3 pin wire. Like refrigerator, Air conditioner, water heater etc. 

Some electrical equipment use less current to operate. They have 2 pin wire. Like TV, mobile phone charger etc. 

Whether it is a 2 pin or a 3 pin plug, the circuit of current should be complete for the current to flow. 

Current will enter through one pin from the mains. It is known as line.

It will leave the circuit through another pin. It is known as neutral.

For a simple circuit which draws less current, only these two pins are sufficient.

But for the circuit drawing large amount of current, for the safety of users, one more pin is provided.

That is earthing.

If somehow, circuit breaks, then the flowing current searches for the path with lesser resistance to flow.

At that time, if the user holds the appliance, then the current will flow through the user. That is us.

That's why no resistance earthing is provided.  The current from the faulty circuit will directly flow into earth, keeping the user safe. 

That is the difference between 2 pin and 3 pin plug.

I like to read mythological stories.

But this story I am unaware of.

There lived a king by the name Prabhanjan 

Once he went for hunting .

At that time , he killed a deer .

That deer was breast feeding its children .

Unknowingly  king had killed the mother deer .

Mother deer got upset.

Before dying   , she cursed the king to live as a tiger for 100 years.

More details I don't know.

As the explanation , Amitabh Bachchan said only this much  !!!!

I am not to be blamed !!! 

India is at the final of Asia cup

 Yesterday was the  semifinal ODI match between India and Sri Lanka.. 

Sri Lankan spinners were the real heroes of the match as they were successful in destroying Indian batting order.

It was clearly evident that pitch was taking turns and ball was spinning. 

Sri Lanka played all the players who can do spin bowling. 

All the 10 wickets of Indian innings were taken by Sri Lankan spinners !!!! 

Indian batsmen failed to answer the spin balls thrown at them. The highest score is 56 runs. 

That shows how does the match went. 

India was able to score just 213 runs that too because of Axer Patel and Mohd Riyaz in last wicket partnership.

As we too have world class spinners, I was excited to watch Sri Lankan batting. 

I was right !!!

Sri Lankan batsmen could not face our bowling attack. 

At one time, they were 99/6 !!!

They were all out for just 176 runs. 

They couldn't resist Indian spinners Kuldip Yadav. 

By this win, India confirmed it's entry to the final of Asia cup. 

India has decimated Pakistan

 Yesterday was the continuation of the stopped match of Sunday.

India started to bat from the previous score of 156 runs for 2 wickets. 

Believe it or not, yesterday Pakistani bowlers could not take a single wicket of India  !!!

India finished the match at 366 runs for 2 wickets !!!

Kohli and Rahul started the match and these two only finished the match also !!!

A great come back by Rahul from injury to as an centurion. 

Both Kohli and Rahul scored centuries. 

Both of them together punished Pakistani bowlers mercilessly. 

Pakistani bowling was at its worst. 

Indian batsmen didn't leave any ball thrown at them without playing a shot 

I have already said that I am not interested in watching opponent team batting, specially Pakistan. 

But after looking at the target given by India, it is a well written saying that Pakistan can not be a winner. 

Outstanding performance by just 2 batsmen !!!

Kohli had hit a great sixer at the final over and final ball of the match. 

That itself was sufficient to tell who is the boss  !!!! 

Gill is back with his IPL form

 Yesterday was sunday and it was the day of India vs Pakistan Asia cup cricket match.

This match was not different from previous match.

Yestetday also India batted first 

The welcome change was Shubhman Gill is back to his IPL form !!!

Though Gill and Rohit started the Indian innings , Gill was in attacking mode than Rohit 

It was pleasing view to watch both of them  scoring boundaries and sixes.

Pakistan players must had thought that India will lose early wickets 

But these two batsmen went on building the 100run partnership and each one scoring individual half centuries 

That time Rohit got out and Kohli came in 

So as the rain  !!!

Rain was successful in making the match to go suspended  .

K. L  Rahul came to bat after recovering from injury.

It could be the match to test his fitness but rain didnt allow that

 ಮೊನ್ನೆ ವಿಟ್ಲ ಪಿಂಡಿಯ ದಿನ ಉಡುಪಿಯ ರಥಬೀದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಮೋದಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು.

ನೆರೆದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೋದಿ ಜೊತೆ ಸೆಲ್ಫಿ ತಗೊಂಡು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸಿದರೆ ಮೋದಿಯವರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೈ ಬೀಸಿದ್ದೇ ಬೀಸಿದ್ದು  !!!

ಉಡುಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನೆ ಸೌರ ಮಾನದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಜನ್ಮಾಷ್ಟಮಿ  ಮತ್ತು ಇವತ್ತು ವಿಟ್ಲ ಪಿಂಡಿ..

ವಿಟ್ಲ ಪಿಂಡಿಯ ದಿನ ಉಡುಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಲಿವೇಷ  ಧಾರಿಗಳದ್ದೇ ಅಬ್ಬರ .

ಇದರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದು ರೋಚಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ಯ ಘಟನೆ ಇದೆ 

ಅದು ತುಂಬಾ ಹಿಂದೆ ಫಲಿಮಾರು  ಮಠದ ರಘು ಪ್ರವೀರ  ಶ್ರೀ ಗಳ  ಪರ್ಯಾಯ.

ಆಗ ಒಂದು ಹುಲಿಯು ಶ್ರೀಗಳ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಹಸುವಾಗಿದ್ದ ನರ್ಮದಾ ಎಂಬ ಹಸುವನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿತು.

ಇದರಿಂದ ಆಘಾತ  ಗೊಂಡ ಶ್ರೀಗಳು ಅಂದು ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡದೆ ಧ್ಯಾನಸ್ಥ  ರಾದರು 

ಆಗ ಪವಾಡ ವೆಂಬಂತೆ  ಅದೇ ಹುಲಿಯು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠದ ಎದುರು ಬಂದು ಪ್ರಾಣ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.

ಈ ಶ್ರೀಗಳು  ತುಳು ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಲಿ ಕೊರ್ತಿನಿ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಲು ಎಂದೇ  ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ.

ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಸತ್ಯ ಸಂಧ ಹುಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಪವಾಡ ನೆನೆಯಲು ಊರಿನವರು ಹರಕೆ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಲಿ ವೇಷ ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಈಗ ಹುಲಿ ವೇಷ ಹಾಕುವ ತಂಡಗಳೇ ಇವೆ.

ಈ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾನಪದ ಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಲು ಉಡುಪಿಯ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ತಂಡಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.

ವಿಟ್ಲ ಪಿಂಡಿ ಯ ದಿನ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.

Kids are always kids !!

 I remembered this incident recently.

My nephew Anirudh had come to Udupi to spend his summer holiday.

One day, Aniruddha with his parents had gone out. 

I was laying down on the bed and was staring at the ceiling which is my favourite pass time. 

Suddenly I heard Aniruddha calling out my name loudly. 

I got up and sat down on bed. 

As usual, Aniruddha came to my room straight away. 

He looked here and there inside the room. 

He found a long chain kept on table.

He took the chain from the table and put the chain around my neck   !!!

He started dancing saying,  Marriage is over  !!!!

I didn't understand anything.

That time , my sister in law came inside the room and said, 

We just have attended a wedding.

There Aniruddha saw bride and groom garlanding each other. 

Aniruddha asked me what are they doing   ???

I said they are getting married and now exchanging garlands.

Anirudh is just mimicking the scene  !!!

After all these years, I finally got married to a kid   !!! 

Ind vs pak Asia cup

 Yesterday was the ODI  match between India and Pakistan.

India won the toss and decided to bat first. 

Openers were Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill. 

The way Gill was batting, I thought he has mistaken this match as a test match !!!!

But before openers start to play, rain disrupted the match. 

When the play resumed, Rohit Sharma got out and even the new batsman Kohli got out !!!

Again disruption by rain. 

When I again started to watch, Ishan Kishen and Hardik Pandya were playing. 

These two batsmen steadied India by building a good partnership 

As soon as Hardik Pandya got out, India slowly started to collapse, as it lost Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul quickly. 

At that time, scoring 250 runs was difficult in 50 overs.

But tail enders Bumra played some good shots. 

India though unable to complete 50 overs, succeeded in scoring 266 runs. 

I am not interested to watch batting of Pakistan.

Not only me. No one watched batting of Pakistan !!! 

Rain again disrupted and the match itself got suspended. 

Bheja fry question

This bheja fry question I listened on hindi FM radio channel. 

As I was unable to find out the equivalent English word to write this article, I am writing in Kannada. 

ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ಒಡೆದರೆ ಶಬ್ದ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ  ???

ಮೊದಲು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಓದಿದಾಗ  ಉತ್ತರ ಹೊಳೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಯಾವುದೇ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಒಡೆದರೂ ಸಣ್ಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಶಬ್ದ ಆಗಿಯೇ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ .

ಉತ್ತರ ಹೊಳೆಯದ ಕಾರಣ ಗೂಗಲ್ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋದೆ . ಅದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಹೃದಯ ಒಡೆದಾಗ ಶಬ್ದ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ 

ಒಂದು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯೇ..... 

ಆದರೆ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಜಾಕಿ  ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಉತ್ತರ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಹದ ಅವಯವ ಅಲ್ಲ .

ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಏನಿರಬಹುದು??

ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕಾದಾಗ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳಿದರು
