Don't be fickle minded ....

 Once Prince of a kingdom decided to go on hunting.  Though he was inexperienced, king allowed him to go.

Prince with his followers entered the forest.  Compared to Prince, his followers were excited as it was a good platform to impress the young Prince.

As they entered the forest, followers started to make loud noises so that the animals get frightened and start running. 

Followers asked the Prince to be prepared. Prince was all ready  !!! 

At that time itself, a small rabbit came running towards him. By seeing the rabbit, Prince aimed at it. 

All of the sudden, a wolf came running frightened. By seeing the wolf,  Prince thought instead of aiming at rabbit, better to aim for big animal like wolf.

He shifted his focus on wolf.

On the other side,  he spotted a beautiful deer grazing grass. Looking at the beauty of deer, Prince again shifted his focus. 

When he was about to hit the deer, he spotted a colourful bird sitting on tree branch. 

Again his mind was changed and now he was aiming at the bird   !!! 

To his bad luck, in  fraction of a second, bird flew off. 

Cursing his badluck, Prince started to look for the earlier animals he was aiming at. 

But he didn't find any of them. 

At the end, he came back empty handed. 

MORAL :  Don't be fickle minded. Keep focus on the target.

Who is the murderer ?

 It was the time of first day of new year.

It was early in the morning.. 

School children have not yet come to the school. 

But some of teachers had come to school. 

They were History teacher, Mathematics teacher, Basketball coach, gardener and the principal himself. 

One tragic incident happened. 

The history teacher of the school got murdered.

Police have come to school for the interrogation. 

Gardener said He was in the garden working since early morning. 

Mathematics teacher said She was preparing the question paper for mid term exams of the school. 

Basketball coach said He was busy in preparing the basketball court to play. 

Principal said He was busy in doing administrative work. 

Police noted down everything. 

Finally, they have arrested the murderer. 

Guess who ??? 

Murderer is Mathematics teacher   !!!! 

How did police find out ??

Mathematics teacher said that she was busy in preparing the mid term exam question paper  !!!

Zanzibar islands

 When watching Koun Banega Karodpati program recently, I came across this place.

Our IIT chennai is going to have a campus there. 

I never heard of this place. 

Zanzibar is the name of group of islands in Indian ocean.

It is partly self governing state in Tanzania which is in Eastern Africa. It is not an independent country. 

It is also known as spice islands. 

The main population is sunny Muslims. But there are many people belonging to Christianity and Hinduism. 

Smile at no cost !!!

 Naseeruddin's wife was pressurising her husband to bring her a diamond necklace since so many days.

Naseeruddin as usual didn't pay much attention. 

As the last resort, Naseeruddin's wife threatened him saying that only diamond necklace around her neck makes her to smile. Nothing else !!! 

Naseeruddin finally agreed to his wife's demand and went to a jewellery shop to buy the diamond necklace. 

Wife was very happy as she got the diamond necklace. Naseeruddin was little tensed as necklace costed him heavily. 

When they were returning home from the shop, Naseeruddin saw a man gifting his wife, a red rose. 

His wife was very happy as she received the rose.  She was all smiling. 

Looking at her, Naseeruddin thought to himself ' This woman is having a smile on her face just by receiving a rose. 

Her smile is at no cost. 

But my wife's smile, proved very very costly to me   !!!

Who is going to fly higher?

 On a river bank, a humming bird was living with its family building a nest.

 It was leading a happy life.

Once an Eagle with wast wings was seen sitting near the river water side. 

Hummingbird was very happy seeing the Eagle. It went near Eagle and

 offered it some fruits to eat. 

But eagle didn't pay attention towards humming bird.

Again and again humming bird offered fruits to eat for Eagle.

Eagle got irritated. It lashed out at humming bird saying that it don't want

 any type of food from a small bird like humming bird. 

Hummingbird felt insulted. 

It challenged the Eagle that even it can fly as high as the Eagle. 

Eagle sarcastically looked at humming bird and agreed for the challenge of

 who is going to fly higher?

Hearing about the challenge, all animals and birds have gathered. 

As soon as the competition started, hummingbird went and sat on the back

 of Eagle.

On asking the reason, hummingbird replied that it didn't explain how it is

 going to fly higher? But it said it will fly.

Looking at the extra smartness of humming bird, even eagle decides to act

 smartly. 

Carrying humming bird on its back, Eagle started to fly fast and higher. It

 went to fly in circles and also was seen flying upside down. 

Whatever Eagle tried to make the hummingbird to fall down,  with more

 grip hummingbird used to sit on the back of eagle.

Eagle tried many tricks to dislocate the hummingbird from its back. But all

 went in vain. 

Tired eagle, flew down near the nest of humming bird. 

Again humming bird offered fruits to eat for Eagle. 

This time, Eagle accepted the hospitality of tiny humming bird without

 saying anything   !!! 

Who is craving for mangoes ?

 Once Birbal had visited the shop of a fruit seller.

As it was the season of mangoes, fruitseller had arranged the mangoes to sell. 

Birbal tasted one mango and it was tasty. 

He purchased 2 kilos of mangoes and went to the court to gift Akbar. 

Akbar was still in his house and watching Birbal carrying the basket of mangoes, Akbar sat down with his wife in the hall. 

Birbal came inside the house and presented the mangoes to Royal couple.

Both husband and wife started to eat mangoes. 

That time a silly idea came to the mind of Akbar to tease his wife. 

He slowly pushed all of his share of mango skins and mango seeds towards queen's side. 

Akbar later complained to Birbal See the craving of Queen for mangoes !!! Only she ate mangoes till now.

Birbal looked at the sides of Royal couple.

Akbar was right  !!! There was a heap of mango seeds and mango skins near the Queen.

But nothing at the side of Akbar.. 

Birbal replied Queen left mango seeds and skins without eating them.

But my lord, you didn't spare them also  !!!

Akbar didn't say anything but queen thanked Birbal.

 I heard the question on web radio recently. 

It is a mathematical question. 

Question is 

When my father was 31 years old, I was 8 years old. 

Now he is twice old as me. 

How old am I ??

Answer - - - - -

Age of father  =  31

Age of son   =  8

Difference between their age  =  31  -   8   =   23

Let the age of father be x.

So, the age of son will be  ( x  -  23 ).

According to the question , now he is twice old as me, we get

x =  2 ( x  -  23 )

x = 2x - 46

x = 46. 

Hence, 

Age of father is 46 years 

Age of son is x - 23  = 46 - 23 = 23 years. 

Age of son is 23 years. .

Bleeding nose

 Nose bleeding is frightening.

But they are not the symptom of anything serious. 

During nose bleed, blood flows from either one of the nostrils or both of them.

How to stop bleeding nose ??

1. Sit down on a chair and lean forward. Stay for 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Lean forward and breathe through mouth.

3.. Don't swallow or inhale blood. 

4. Stay upright or be seated. Don't lie down. 

5. Care should be taken to make sure that blood must not enter lungs through nose. 

India vs Afghanistan 3rd T20 cricket match

 Yesterday was the 3rd T20 cricket match between India and Afghanistan.

I was not interested to watch as India has already won the series. 

Out of curiosity I just wanted to know the score.

India was batting first. 

Over 6 completed. 

India  30 for 4 wickets !!!!!

Kohli, Jaiswal, Dubey, Samsun all were out   !!!!

Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh were batting. 

Indian cricket team must have taken this match lightly.... 

Rinku Singh and Rohit Sharma didn't disappointed the crowd. 

Their fire cracking batting was a delight to watch.

Rohit Sharma completed his 50 and India were 97 /4.

Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh partnership was 104 runs and still going strong.

Rinku Singh completed his 50.

Partnership is unbeaten 190 runs  !!!!!

Rohit Sharma was unbeaten at 121 run and Rinku Singh at 69 unbeaten.

The death overs were full of sixers and boundaries !!!!!

Finally India closed the innings at 212 runs. 

With that I switched off tv knowing that India will win the match. 

What is Maya?

 The above question was asked by sage Narada to God Vishnu.

Narada said to God Vishnu that he wants to experience Maya.

God Vishnu didn't say anything. He kept quiet for some time .

Suddenly God Vishnu asked Narada to get a glass of water.

Though Narada was disappointed for not getting answer for his question , he didn't say anything and went out to get the water.

As soon as he stepped outside , he observed a tiny house infront of him.

Narada decided to ask for water from the house and knocked the door.

A beautiful girl opened the door . Narada instantly fell in love with her .!!!!! 

He forgot why did he knocked the door . His eyes were on the girl .

That time mother of girl came outside and Narada without wasting time , asked for girl's hand for marriage.

Girl's family agreed and Narada got married to that girl.

Days were passing quickly. Now Narada is a happy family man with 2 children .

One day it started raining heavily . Everything got inundated in water.

Narada and his family climbed to their terrace as water was coming inside the house.

Water level was going on increasing. Narada's wife and kids were swept away in the raging water .

The most dangerous animal

 Yesterday I was reading a book.

There I came across this question.. 

Which is the most dangerous animal ??

I thought what a silly question !!

In my mind, names of some animals which I considered dangerous, have come up.

Like lion, tiger, cheetah etc. 

But these are not so dangerous !!!

 

I scratched my  head. 

It is the female mosquito  !!!

Even I had a good laugh. But reasons made me to agree. 

According to studies,  most of the deaths  nearly 5 million people world wide have died just because of biting of female mosquito.

Only female mosquitoes suck blood through biting. 

Male mosquitoes are happy in biting plants !!!

Malaria, dengue  and other life threatening diseases have come because of biting of female mosquito !!!! 

This record can not be broken by any other animal.

India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20 cricket match

 Yesterday was the 2nd T20 cricket match between India and Afghanistan.

India has already won the first match in series of 3 T20 match. 

India leads the series by 1 - 0.

Yesterday was the 2nd T20 cricket match. India won the toss and decided to bowl first. 

Arshdeep started the bowling and in the 1st ball 2 extras and in the second ball, a boundary  !!!

Arshdeep seems to have lost control. 

Afghanistan had scored 20 runs in just 2 overs !!!!

Thank God !! Spinners have come to bowl.

Whoa !!!! First wicket gone. 

This happiness is short lived.  Afghanistan was able to cross 50 runs in 5 overs. 

Axar  Patel has come and succeeded in taking second wicket. 

Third wicket was also taken by a spinner only!!!! 

One of Afghanistan batsman completed his 50 in just 28 balls. 

Same half century batsman got out in Axar Patel bowling for 57 runs !!!! 

Except him, no other batsman have clicked in the batting. 

Afghanistan has crossed 100 runs. 

Till now, all the wickets fallen were taken by spinners.

Shivam Dubey had dropped an easy catch. ....

Finally first wicket was gone at the 8th over. Batsman got stumped out. 

In the very next ball of new over, another opening batsman too got out. 

Even though Afghanistan batsmen able to score boundaries,  they were quickly losing wickets too. 

Yesterday I had realised that Afghanistan middle order is strong as they managed to finish their innings for 158 runs for 5 wickets.

Who is the culprit?

 In a village, there were 4  unemployed youths.

They were friends too. 

All of them sat down together and decided to start a grocery shop. 

Likewise they opened the shop and bought some grains in wholesale price. 

They had kept all the grains in the shop itself. 

Now they are worried how to protect them from mice ??

After discussion, they decided to keep a cat in the shop.

Now who is going to look after the cat ?

Again they discussed and decided to take care of each leg as cat is having 4 legs and they are 4 friends.

Likewise they decided to take care of each leg of cat. 

Every thing was going fine. 

One day cat has broken down one of its legs. 

Friend who is in charge of that broken leg  did the first aid and wrapped a piece of cloth around the broken leg of the cat. 

One day some how the wrapped piece of cloth caught fire. 

Cat as it is shocked that its leg caught fire, ran and started to jump here and there. 

Because of this, whole shop got fire and everything got burnt. 

All of 4 friends were in great loss. 

Now fight started among them as to who is responsible for the fire and who is going to repay the loss ? 

The dispute went near the king. 

King asked the opinion of his ministers. 

Each of them said that the person who is the in charge of the leg which got fire is responsible. 

King was not satisfied with the result. 

King spent sleepless night thinking of the problem. 

By morning king had the solution. 

Next day morning, king has to deliver the verdict. 

King said Though one of the leg got fire, it was injured. 

It was not able to walk only with that leg. 

Other 3 legs which are healthy, also assisted the broken leg when running. 

Hence all the legs of cat are responsible for the loss incurred. 

So all the  4 friends are equally must share the loss... 

Listening to the verdict, everyone praised the king. 

Will you love me ???

Mulla Naseeruddin was in love with a rich lady.

But she has lost all her wealth and now flat broke !!!!

One day she asked Mulla Naseeruddin, " will you love me as before being knowing that I am not rich anymore ??"

Naseeruddin said,

" of course I love you !!!

But probably I am not interested to see your face again !!!!"

Show gratitude for received help

 It was a kingdom. King Charudutta was ruling the kingdom.

He had a son by the name Bhagadutta. He was young and energetic. 

Suddenly Bhagadutta developed a desire to drink tender coconut water. He was drinking at least 150 tender coconuts at a time !

Now this has become a big problem for the king.  How much ever Bhagadutta drinks, his thirst is not quenching.

Royal doctors were unable to help. King declared that whoever cures his son, will be awarded 1000 gold coins. 

Many people tried their best but of no use. Finally, a poor man came to the court saying that he wants to help. 

King had no other choice. Poor man started his treatment. 

Slowly young Prince started to feel better. Now he's drinking just 50 tender coconut water a day. 

As treatment went on, disease of being thirsty always of Prince got cured. 

Poor man wanted to leave. King had totally forgotten about his promise of giving reward to poor man. 

Poor man didn't asked for it by himself thinking that king may feel that he is hungry for money. 

But he needed the money.  Sighing and cursing his bad luck, he started to leave. 

As soon as he stepped out of Palace, Prince started to feel thirsty again. 

By watching all this, the main priest reminded king of his promise to poor man. 

Shamed at his forgetfulness, King himself ran near poor man and apologised for his forgetfulness. 

King rewarded poor man as promised and with the treatment of poor man, prince got cured from the disease. 

Naseeruddin's advice

 One evening , Naseeruddin was returning to his house.

That time a man stopped him by saying that he needs his advice.

Naseeruddin stopped to listen to his problem .

Man said Every morning I get up intoxicated even though I don't drink alcohol .

Naseeruddin thought for a moment then asked the man what he drink before going to bed ?

Man replied a glass of milk .

Naseeruddin replied that is the cause of problem .

You drink the milk and then go to sleep .

In your dream you toss around .

That makes the milk to get churned . !!!!! 

Milk turns into butter . Butter turns into ghee .

Ghee turns into fat and fat into sugar .

Later this sugar turns into alcohol .

So in the morning you wake up with alcohol in your stomach .

That's why you feel intoxicated when you get up in the morning .

My advice is that you must stop drinking milk from now onwards  !!!

By listening to this , man stood confused .

Kids are always kids !!!

 I was sitting and watching a quiz programme on TV.

It was a quiz program. Every question has 4 options. We have to select the correct one. 

Aniruddha came near me and looked at my face. 

I was totally engrossed in the program. 

Host of the program started reading the question. 

He gave 4 options. 

Aniruddha said Answer option A !!!!

To my surprise, answer was right !!!

For the next consecutive 3 questions also, same thing repeated.

Aniruddha was giving the answer. 

All were correct  !!!!

I felt proud of him. At this young age, he could confidently giving answers  !!!!

Even I could not answer some of the questions.

But Aniruddha had given correct answers !!!

My brother came back from the work and I said what had happened and praised Aniruddha as a child prodigy !!!!

My brother listened to everything.

He said, 

It is a mere coincidence !!!!

Aniruddha gave the answer to the first question as option A.

Answer to next question as option B.

And so on.

When Alphabet A, B, C and D are over, again he is starting to tell the answer again from alphabet A  !!!!

Surprisingly, whatever he said the option number,  all were right  !!!

Aniruddha was smiling at me  !!!! 

Shortest ever test cricket match win !!!!

 Usually I don't watch test cricket match.

But India and South Africa 2nd test cricket match is going on. 

In the first test, India had suffered a loss of an innings and 32 runs........

But yesterday at the 2nd test,  India has taken a cold revenge.

I started to watch the match yesterday which was the second day of second test cricket match. 

The 5 day long test match got ended in just 2 days with India 's win !!!! 

Bumra 's morning spell helped India in series levelling win against  South Africa.

Yesterday was the second day of second test cricket match. 

Even though Markram looked dangerous as he scored a century,

South Africa were all out just for 176 runs !!!!!

With this much information, we can figure out how many runs were scored by other players  !!!! 

Thus leaving India, the winning target of  79 runs.

India easily reached the target with 7 wickets in hand.

Only Bumra and Siraj shined in bowling. 

Others got punished mercilessly by Markram. 

How to get the blessings of God?

 Once a devotee named Pundalik was travelling to Kashi. He was the only child of his parents who are now aged.

Instead of looking after them, he has started to go to Kashi to seek the blessings of God. 

On the way, he visited the ashram of a Saint.

Bowing his head, Pundalik asked him the way to go to Kashi. 

Saint replied he doesn't know the way.

Hearing that, Pundalik made fun of saint. But saint didn't say anything.

As it was getting dark,  Pundalik decided to stay there. In the night, he heard the voices of women talking. 

Pundalik went near the women. He asked them who are they and what they are doing here?

That time one of the women said they are Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. They have come to clean the ashram.

Pundalik wondered how a Saint who didn't visited Kashi can have the power such that holy rivers themselves have come to clean the ashram? 

The 3 women said to Pundalik that piety, spirituality and devotion does not depend on visiting the holy places or doing costly rituals. It depends on doing one's own karma. 

Pundalik that time itself abandoned his plan of going to Kashi. Instead he left to his home to take care of his parents. 

Birbal and the thief

 One full moon night, Birbal and his family members were chatting with each other sitting in the verandah.. 

After some time, everything went silent, a thief entered the house through the window. 

Everyone were asleep. Thief went near the store room. He removed his shirt and spread it over the floor so that he could bundle whatever he gets from the store room. 

He went inside the store room and assembled the things he found. In the hurry, he knocked down a flower pot. 

This sound made Birbal to wake up. Birbal was coming near the store room to have a look.

Hearing someone's footsteps, thief got scared and he left whatever he had assembled there only and tried to flee away from the house.

But Birbal had seen him. Grabbing thief 's shirt which was on ground, Birbal said to thief, this shirt I will keep for myself. When you come next time, bring saree to my wife !!! 

Bheja fry question

 Recently I came across this question on web radio.

What has 4 wheels and flies  ??

This needs out of the box thinking.

In the above question, everything is fine. 

Treat the word flies as a noun not as a verb.

Now whole question takes another form.

When noun flies gives the meaning of insect fly and plural is flies. 

Now a truck has 4 wheels and also the insect flies. 

Then it must be a garbage truck or vehicle. 

Who are the children of Sita???

 Everyone knows the answer to above question.

They are Luva and Kusha. 

Then why am I writing this blog article ???

I say Luva is the only biological son of Sita.

Then what about Kusha  ???

Luva and Kusha are not twins though they are identical  !!!!

According to some version of Ramayana, 

Sita had given birth to Luva. 

Once Sita had taken Luva to the nearby riverside to bathe.

But her caretaker  Saint Valmiki was not aware of this.

Saint searched the whole house for the baby.

But he could not find the baby.

Fearing that Sita would be sad if she comes to know that baby is missing.......

He hurriedly made a look a like baby as  Luva from the grass found on the ground. 

Valmiki had given life to the look a like baby. 

After some time, Sita returned to home with real Luva.

She was shocked by seeing 2 Luva s at the same time !!!!

Saint Valmiki explained everything to Sita.

Sita named look a like baby as Kusha.

Both of them, Luva and Kusha grown up like twins.
