Only organ which can regenerate itself....

Only organ which can regenerate itself....

To be more specific, it is the only organ which can regenerate itself in human body ! When done transplantation from donor, donor is actually have the regeneration of lost tissues , 25% of cells can be regenerated.
But this is not true regeneration , but the compensatory growth.
The organ is human liver .
But it is the restoration of its function, not original form.
Liver is necessary for survival.  It does detoxification, protein synthesis , production of biochemicals etc.
Liver can be damaged by consuming alcohol and is called alcohol damage.

What is flatulence?

                            What is flatulence?

Flatulence is the word used to describe the release of gases from human body. They can be loud , silent but stinky in smell !
Flatulence is a combination of gases ( nitrogen , carbon dioxide , oxygen , methane and hydrogen sulfide ) that travels from stomach to anus of a person.

What makes the gas stinky?

It is the hydrogen sulfide gas. This gas contains sulfur which causes the smelly odour. The more sulfur rich is our food , the more stinky flatulence will come out !
When a man eats too much food or swallows too much air  , then the human digestive system can not digest easily , gas becomes trapped in the stomach. The only way for this excess gas to exit the body is through anus.
It is an involuntary action and the respective person must not be blamed for that !

Physical phenomena which are responsible for rainbow formation

Physical phenomena which are responsible for rainbow formation

A rainbow is an excellent demonstration of the dispersion of light and refraction.

What is dispersion?

Visible light consists of a collection of component colours. When light passes through a triangular prism, it is separated into its component colours -- Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green , Yellow, Orange and Red. ( VIBGYOR) . The separation of visible light into its component colours is known as dispersion.

What is refraction?

Refraction is the bending of the path of a light wave as it passes from one medium to the other. The refraction occurs at the boundary and is caused by change in the speed of light. The speed of a light wave changes when it travels from less dense medium to more dense medium or vice a versa.

Here, we have 2 mediums : water and air. Out of them , water is more dense than air. Hence , the speed of light reduces. This causes the light to bend from its initial path. This is refraction.

After that , dispersion takes place and we see 7 colours in a rainbow.

The first cricketer to score hundred in all the 3 forms of cricket

The first cricketer to score hundred in all the 3 forms of cricket

Today is the 4th ODI between India and Australia cricket team. In last match Indian captain M.S. Dhoni had scored a century.
I kept wondering at who is the first cricketer to score a hundred in all the 3 forms of cricket i.e. T20, ODI and test cricket?
Its Chris Gayle.
I have seen him scoring runs in T20 matches. He was banned by West Indies cricket board. But now , they have cleared the differences between them.
He is back in the national team. He scored a hundred for his team in both ODI and test cricket match.
Scoring a hundred in test match ?! He must had treated the match like another T20 match. Scoring all 4s and 6s. Treating the opponent bowler as enemy !

Why do we talk loudly when we fight?

Why do we talk loudly when we fight?

This article is not based on scientific facts. It is a story.
One day , a saint was travelling to other place with his followers. They came across a city in between. There they saw two people fighting with each other.
It seems both knew each other. But now they were fighting. The noise made by each others' talking is so loud and harsh that it is audible in next street also !
But saint and his followers didnt interfere between them. They left the place. That time, they were supposed to pass a river.
Boat came and all sat on the boat. In the boat , there was a newly married couple. Both husband and wife were sitting next to each other.
One of the followers sat behind them in the boat. Couple were talking with each other. They were whispering the words.
Follower , even though he was sitting just behind the couple, could not hear the words. He was really surprised.
The persons , who were fighting , they were also stood very near to each other. But their quarrel is audible in the next street. If they speak slowly, other person can hear comfortably.
Follower put his doubt infront of saint. Saint replied " Their hearts were very far with each other. Thats why in order to convey their feelings , they must shout. But when people are in love with each other, their hearts a re very near. Hence, sound of whispering too is enough for them to listen ".

Why are Fiji islands got suspended from commonwealth?

Commonwealth is a grouping of 53 former British colonies . Fiji islands were one among them.
The commonwealth has fully suspended Fiji after after it refused to bow to demands to call elections .
The ban is because of lack of progress towards democracy.
Commonwealth had demanded Fiji to hold credible elections by October 2010.
But Fiji has not met the deadline.
Fiji Government tells it will hold elections in 2014. As soon as democratic government is formed, the ban on country will be lifted.

Tulu proverb

                                   Tulu proverb

daadet batta kennaga aaned mitt battend pijin pantandge!

Translation

This proverb ridicules the boasting persons. Some people always say that they are superior than others. It is just an incidence.
An ant was asked how did it came to that place? It replied that it has come by sitting on back of an elephant.!
It is the most unlikely situation. Boasting persons will make impossible to possible !

Whose servant?

                                       Whose servant?

It was a kingdom. King was treating his people very well. He had an ambition to talk with people and to know their opinion about his rule.
Likewise, king disguised himself and was preparing to leave. That time, his minister came to talk with him. Minister wanted to go with king. King agreed.
Both of them started their journey. They were meeting the people and were trying to know their opinion about King's rule.
Likewise, they reached a village. As it was getting dark, they decided to spend the night there. They asked for shelter near a farmer.
Farmer happily agreed . He just brought the brinjals which were grown in his own farm land. He wanted to serve them the dishes of brinjals.
He informed the visitors about the fact. Soon , he prepared the food and served them dinner. As he had told, dinner menu was full of brinjal dishes.
King liked the dishes very much and praised them too. Minister , by seeing King's appreciation note, started praising the dishes. Minister told that out of all vegetables, brinjal is the best one!
Farmer was happy that the visitors had liked the dishes. He gave bag full of brinjals to visitors. Both of them left the place and returned to palace.
King gave the bag which is full of brinjals to royal chef. By seeing the King himself handing over the bag, chef figured out that King liks the dishes made of brinjals. Soon , he started preparing the dishes of brinjals and serving the King.
This development had led to uneasiness of King . Everyday only brinjal dishes ! King was fed up of it . Soon , he started complaining too.
Seeing King's mentality, minister has also condemned that no dishes must be prepared out of brinjals and brinjal is the worst vegetable !
This made King surprised. He asked with minister " That time, you had praised the dishes saying that brinjal is the best vegetable. But now you are condemning the vegetable.why is the sudden change of mentality ?"
Minster replied " I am not the servant of brinjals. I am the servant of yours. That time, you had liked the dished made of brinjals. Thats why even I praised it. But today , you were fed up of the dishes. You disliked it. Hence , even I did the same . I just talked in favour of you . Br cause , I am the servant of yours."
King rewarded the minister for saying the truth.

Phew ! It was Philine

                                       Phew ! It was Philine

I have seen the TV news about cyclone Philine. They were saying that it is a very severe cyclone. Thankfully , Government had taken preventive measures like evacuation of people before itself. Hence, no major casualties have been reported.
In coastal area of Karnataka too, we had experianced rainfall. Sea was rash too. I thought It was the effect of cyclone.
But , since 4 days we are having evening rains. Morning , it is sunny. But as Sun is preparing to take leave, clouds start gathering in the sky.
These are thick black clouds. They are accompanied by thunders too. Today also, clouds have occupied sky and they have started the music concert too ! ( thunder sound)
I asked with elder people if there is one more cyclone going to attack ? No sign of cyclone. Then why are we having rains at this time?

Mustard war

                                         Mustard war

This is not the name given to the quarrel between women for mustard to use while cooking ! This is the chemical weapon used in days of world war 1.
The sulphur mustards are commonly known as mustard gas .These gas have ability to form large blisters on the exposed skin and in the lungs.

Why these are called mustard?

Pure sulphur mustards are colourless. But when used in impure form , such as warfare agents , they have an odour resembling mustard plants , hence the name.
Sulphur mustard has the chemical formula (Cl -CH2CH2)2S
It is first used by the German troops. Nowadays , it is also used as chemotherapy drug.

Why do we sweat after taking hot water bath?

Why do we sweat after taking hot water bath?

Sweating is the mechanism through which our body cools us down . When we take a hot water bath , our body emits fluids that then evaporate.
This evaporation requires heat. The heat is stolen from body , cooling us down. Our body recognizes that bath was hot . It takes this heat itself for the evaporation purpose , thus making us sweat.

RBI's first governor learnt to be humble

RBI's first governor learnt to be humble

Chittaranjan Deshmukh had earned the chance to study in foreign country. He returned to India after studying. Those were the days of freedom struggle.
Gandhiji was the leader through his non-violence movement. Everywhere people were talking about him. When Chittaranjan had returned to India, he had the ambition to meet Gandhiji.
Likewise, he went to Sabarmati Ashram to meet Gandhiji and expressed his wish to spend some time there. Gandhiji agreed but told him that he has to earn his meal.
Chittaranjan agreed. Gandhiji asked him to clean the toilets of ashram ! Chittaranjan didnt expect that.He was very proud of himself that he has earned a degree in foreign. For such a brilliant one, toilet cleaning was a very disgusting job.
Seeing his silence, Gandhiji asked him not to take worries and he , himself will do the work for him ! Gandhiji started cleaning the toilets too !
By seeing that, Chittaranjan realised that no work is inferior. He became a humble man. Later he participated as a freedom fighter and became the first governor of Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ).
