Kumbhasi is a town situated in the road connecting Udupi and Kundapur. Kumbhasi is popular because of the Ganesh Temple . Kumbhasi got its name because of Ganesh.
In Kumbhasi, Sage Gautam lived. That time, a demon named Kumbhasur was very notorious for his ill works. Pandavas  had been  cheatingly sent to forest. At that time, they were supposed to pass through Kumbhasi. At that time, Sage Gautam met them and said his problem with them.
Eldest of Pandavas, Yudhistira  asked his brother Bhim to look into the problem. Bhim and Kumbhasura had a big fight. But Bhim could not defeat Kumbhasur since demon was powerful. Worried Bhim discussed the problem with his supporters.
Then Sage Gautam said if Bhim pray to God Ganesh then it is easy to defeat the demon. Similarly, Bhim prayed to Ganesh. Ganesh gave him powerful ammunition . With the help of those, Bhim was able to kill the demon. That place is Kumbhasi.

                                            Rules are same for everyone

Long ago, there was this kingdom. A king was ruling the state. He was a good administrator. Everytime he was thinking  about how can he give good administration to people? Hence one day, he made a ruling that the main door of kingdom will be closed at 9 pm.  People should reach their house in kingdom before 9 pm.People thought its a weird idea.
But people obeyed that rule. Everything was fine. One day king went for hunting. As he went deep into forest, he could not reach kingdom before 9 pm. He was half an hour late.
The soldier who was standing at main door, didnt allow king to enter. Ministers tried to explain soldier that King has come and is waiting outside. But soldier didnt listen and he didnt open door. King waited till the sun rises in east and then entered inside.
After reaching his court, the first thing king did was to summon the soldier who was at the door yesterday. Everyone thought king may fire the soldier from the service. But everyone's surprise, king rewarded him saying that rule is same for everyone.

In a pond, there lived 3 fishes. One of them is very orthodox. He believes whatever happens to him is always pre decided and no one can change it.
The other fish believes in his intelligence. He thinks whatever be the condition, he can come through it using his intelligence.
The remaining one is having commom sense.
These 3 fishes were friends though their nature is different.
Once they heard the news that fishermen are coming to their pond for fishing. The fish which has common sense said to his friends that he is going to some other water source. The other 2 fishes thought the 3rd fish is doing big thing out of small.
The other 2 fishes remained in that pond itself. Fishermen came for fishing on one day. They caught both the fishes. The fish who believes in his intelligence, acts that he is dead. Fishermen thought the fish is already dead and threw that fish back to water.
Now remaining one is the orthodox fish. He was thinking that his last days have come. Hence he didnt try to escape also. He was gasping for oxygen. Fishermen thought atlast they got a fish for dinner

A boy entered a saloon. At that time, barber said to his customers that the boy is an idiot and he will prove that. He showed 1 rupee and 10 rupee note to boy and asked him to take any one. Boy took 1 rupee note and went out.
Barber happily looked at customers and praised his own wisdom. But one of the customers went out and found the boy eating an icecream. He came near boy and asked him why did he take 1 rupee where as he could take 10 rupees?
That time, boy replied "The day I take 10 rupees note, barber will stop asking me to take the money !"

Shiva was so much engrossed in meditation that he didnt realise new Earth has started growing around him. Now he is inside the newly formed earth. He was in a rage by seeing this.
He thought of splitting the earth so that he can come out. Mother Earth came to know of this and she begged Shiva not to do that.
When Shiva asked the way to come out of ground, mother Earth said that she will change to the form of a cow, and then Shiva can come out through the ear of cow.
Shiva did the same. The place is known as Gokarna (in Samskrit Go means cow and Karna means Ear. Thus Gokarna is Ear of cow)

Karna is the tragic character of Mahabharat. Though he is the son of Sun and virgin Kunti, since Kunti had abandoned him fearing that people may critisise for giving birth as she was virgin, he didnt know his past. Karna was lookled after by a fisherman named Adhiratha.
Karna was good at archery. But he could not get proper education since he is the son of a fisherman. Once there was an exhibition by Arjun to demonstrate his skills in archery. That time, seeing the skills displayed by Arjun, Karna displayed the same skills.
Everyone were surprised by this. That time, Krupacharya came forward and said to Karna " Arjuna is the son of Pandu and a prince." He asked for the introduction with Karna. Karna was speechless. Because he is the son of a fisherman and in those days, people of other cast are forbidden of these things. He kept quiet. Seeing his silence, Duryodhan thought he must not be from upper cast.
That's why ,he announced that he is making Karna as the king of Anga Kingdom. Now even Karna had become a king. But at that time, Karna saw is father Adhiratha among audience. He directly went near him and bowed for his blessings. Karna didnt forget his past though he got the new status in society.

Bheem's as well as Pandavas' maternal grandfather is Aryaka. Aryaka had 2 children namely Vasudev and Kunti. Vasudev is the father of Shrikrishna. Kunti is the mother of Pandavas. In that sense, Kunti has become the aunt of ShriKrishna.
Aryaka is the king of Paataal. Hence, when Duryodhan tried to poison Bheem giving the sweet containing poison to him, and when Bheem ate that and was unconsious, that time Duryodhan had dragged him to a nearby lake and immersed him in the lake.
Bheem when he got immersed in lake, was found by his grandfather Aryaka who was the king of Paataal. Aryaka by knowing what injustice had been done to his grandson, blessed him so that he could get the strength of 1000 elephants. He rescued Bheem.

Iravanta is Arjuna and Ulupi's son. Unlike Abhimanyu, who is Arjuna and Subhadra's son, he is less known. Iravanta's mother ,Ulupi is a snake girl. Arjuna met her in Patala and married her. As Arjuna is his father, Iravanta faught in Kurukshetra battle on Pandavas side.
Iravanta is very brave. In war, he killed Shakuni 's 6 sons single handedly. Shakuni was fighting on enemy side. There was a demon present in enemy side by the name Alambusha. Alambusha and Iravanta had a big fight facing each other.
At last, Iravanta took the snake form to fool Alambush. But the demon was clever. Alambush took the eagle form and killed the snake. Thus, Iravanta breathed his last.

Indraprastha is a town which is said to be located near Hastinapur. Some believe today's Delhi itself was Indraprastha of ancient years.
Indraprastha was the capital of Pandavas after they got kingdom after Kurukshetra war. Before to that also,  there was an agreement between Kouravas and Pandavas that Kouravas will give 5 places to Pandavas. that time, Padavas made Indraprastha as their capital. With the help of Shri Krishna, they had a palace which is built by Vishwakarma who is the sculpter of devas.
To visit the palace, Kouravas had come. Duryodhan unknowingly stepped on water thinking it is the floor. That time, Pandavas' wife Droupadi had laughed with the her maids. Duryodhan got insulted and this is also the reason for the war .
After ShriKrishna's death, his  great grandson Vajra had been looking after Indraprastha.

Zebra is an animal which is mostly seen in grass land of Savanna of Africa. Zebra is a vegetarian animal. It belongs to the same family as horse.  Hence even zebra sleeps in standing position as horse because it will be easier for them to run for their life when non-vegetarian animals attacks them during night. Thats why all the vegetarian animals sleep in the night in standing position.
Now,  in Savanna grass land, Zebras are always seen with Giraffe. Giraffe is the talest animal. Hence during nights, it can easily make out whether non veg animals are planning to attack.,because of its long neck. Even Zebra is having sharp eye sight.
Because of this, zebras are always seen near Giraffes.

Parashuram is the youngest son of saint Jamadagni and Renuka. Renuka used to bring water in a vessel made up of sand from the nearby river. But once her mind got deviated and she could not bring water on a sand vessel on time.
Jamadagni was a quick temper man. Now he was very angry on his wife. He had come to know what happened by his power. He didnt listen to any of the explanation given by his wife. He ordered his 4 sons  to kill their mother.
3 of them didnt agree for that. Parashuram was the youngest of them and he obeyed his father and cut his mother's head. With that, Jamadagni was pleased. He asked his son, Parashuram to ask for 3 wishes and he will grant them.
Parashuram in his first wish, begged that his mother must be alive. In the second wish, he begged that his brothers, who didnt listen to their father and had been burnt alive, must be alive. In the third and final wish, he begged that his father's quick temper must get cured.
Thus, Parashuram cured his father's bad habbit and also got his mother back.

She had a child from her first marriage. He was now going to school and was living with his mother. He was witnessing all his mother's works. He didnt agree to his mother's work.
One day, his mother i.e. the hollywood actress came home with her new boyfriend and introduced him to her child as his new father. Child rushed to his room ,came out holding a book. He asked his new father to sign in the book which is the visitor's book. He said atleast he can remember his name.!
By hearing that, actress's head bowed in shame. She corrected herself .

Parvati granted a boon to her that daughter will marry King Nahusha in future. Nahusha is a handsome prince. Parvati thought he is the ideal match for her beautiful daughter. But as the time passed by, Ashoka Sundari grew up to become a beautiful lady.
At that time, a demon named Hunda tried to marry her forcibly seeing her beauty. That time, King Nahusha came to Ashoka Sundari's rescue and defeated the demon in a fierce battle. Nahusha came to know that Ashoka Sundari is looking for him.
He told his identity and married her.

Long ago, there was a demon by the name Banasur. People were suffering from his evil works. That's why God Shiv called Goddess Parashakti to kill the demon. She agreed and took the form of Kanyakumari and killed the demon since he was having the boon that only by a virgin(kanya) he can be killed. After completion of her work, Goddess requested Shiv to marry her.
Though Shiv agreed, he did not turn up on correct time for wedding. Goddess was waiting. But Shiv didnt turn up. Hence she decided that she will remain kanyakumari (virgin goddess) throughout her life. The turmeric and kumkum which is red in colour remained there and changed to sand. That's why in beach of Kanyakumari, sand is colourful.

Atikaya is the son of Ravan and Dhoomramalini. He was having special powers such that once he had stopped God Shiv's weapon Trishul in the midway itself !
Trishira is the brother of Atikaya. Both were having the nature of giving trouble to other people. In their last birth, Trishira and Atikaya were Madhu-Kaitabh demons. They had disturbed God Brahma in his work of creation. Finally, God Vishnu had killed them.
During Ramayana, Laxman had killed Atikaya in battle.

Once a man was walking on sea shore. Suddenly he observed that a ship is sinking. He was unhappy that he can not do anything for people who are on the ship which is sinking.
He was very angry on God. He thought one among the people onboard the ship,might have done wrong.But why to punish all of them? That time only, an ant bit his foot. He screamed in pain. He saw that many ants were below his foot.
In a rage, he killed all of them. Then God appeared and asked him one among those ants had bit your foot.But you  had killed many of them. This is also a injustice.By listening to that, man bowed his head in shame.

Once upon a time, there was a merchant. Once he had to be out of station for some time. That's why he gave a bundle of gold coins to his friend and asked him to return the bundle when he comes back from his work. Friend agreed.
Merchant finished all his work and came back and asked for the bundle near his friend. But friend said merchant had not given any bundle to him.Angry merchant went near a judge for justice. Judge listened to everything.He asked 3 questions to them.
Questions are---
1.Which is the one responsible to quench our hunger?
2.Which is the fastest running thing?
3.Which is going to give us luxury?
Friend replied they are the meat, horses, wealth. Judge was not convinced. Merchant replied They are the mother nature, our mind and  sleep.
Judge thought merchant is telling truth and gave the bundle to him and imprisoned the friend for cheating.

Once a friend asked Mulla Naseeruddin "from where we came and to where we will go after death?". Naseeruddin said it is a horrible place. friend asked him how did he kow about it?
Then Naseeruddin said it must be a horrible place. That's why when we born i.e. when we come from that place, we cry. And when we die, i.e. when we are  about go to that place, our relatives cry !"

King Duryodhan was having only one daughter, her name is Laxmana. She was very beautiful. By hearing that, Shrikrishna's relative Samba wanted to marry her. But he was knowing that Duryodhan would not agree for the marriage.
That's why he entered the house of Laxmana and was going in his chariot with her. By seeing that, Kouravas including Duryodhan were angry. They started fighting with Samba blocking his way. Though Samba fought back bravely, Kouravas outnumbered him and caught him.
They jailed him. The news spread and to make Samba free again, Balram came to talk with kouravas. Kouravas had great respect for Balram. But on that day, they insulted him because he and his brother, Shrikrishna were on Pandava's side.
Angry Balram tried to talk with patience. But he could not. Hence, he came out and tried to topple the house and the kingdom of Kouravas. Then Kouravas realised their folly and freed Samba. Then wedding of Samba and Laxmana took place grandly.

Sriram is the son of Dasharath. He belongs to Surya dynasty. Dasharath's father is king Aja. Indumati is wife of Aja. Hence she is grandmother of Sriram.
Actually Indumati is an angel by the name Harini. But she was cursed by a saint to born as human. Hence, she born as the daughter of Bhoja, king of Vidarbha. She was so delicate in her nature that it is said she died because a flower fell from garland wore by saint Narad who was travelling in sky. She died instantly because of the impact.

In Germany, there was this rich man. He wanted to study all the books regarding religions of world. So, he bought all the books. But all of them were not in German. The only language rich man knows. Hence, he decided that he will translate all the books to German.
He invited translators from all over the world and asked them to translate the spiritual books in other than German language to German. It had taken several years to complete the work. One of friends of rich man asked him when he will read all the books?
Rich man said after the translation work completes. But in few days, he fell ill.Doctor said he will live only for few days. Rich man thought he didnt read any of religious books he had bought. So, he asked the translators to write the whole thing in just one page.
All of them agreed. They started working on that.Finally, they finished. They gave all of them to rich man. But by this time, his health got more deteriorated. Hence,he asked them to reduce the report to one paragraph. Again they started working on it.
Finally, they finished. They presented their work to rich man. But by that time, he had died. Many of us, dont know why we do the work just like rich man. Our efforts will get wasted by this aimless work.

Blue whales are mammals. They have lungs like us.  Hence to get oxygen, they come above the surface of water. Inhale oxygen,then go inside water. For exhale,they again come above water surface. Blue whales have the life span about 80- 90 years.
But they wont live upto that many years. Reason is surprising. The reason is ships. When they come above water surface for inhaling oxygen, there will be ships travelling on sea. They are hitting the blue whales. They die because of this friction bound wounds.
