When Amitabh Bacchan got embarrassed on the sets of Koun Banega Karodpati program

 Diwali special program was airing on Koun Banega Karodpati program.

On the festive season, one new segment was introduced called Surprise call

In this segment, Amitabh Bacchan would select the phone number of a random person and call him and ask him a question. If he answers the question correctly, then he would be rewarded. 

Idea of the segment was like this. 

Amitabh Bacchan randomly selected a number and called him. 

When that person picked up the call, Amitabh Bacchan in his iconic voice said, 

Namaskar, Mein Amitabh Bacchan bol raha hoon Koun Banega Karodpati se.

By listening to this, the person on the other side said,

Kyun prank call karta hai ??!!

He disconnected the call.

On calling him again, he didn't picked up the phone thinking it as the prank call by some pranksters. 

Amitabh Bacchan was fully embarrassed with this incident. Later he selected one more person and continued the segment. 

In latest episode, Amitabh Bacchan once again picked up a random phone number and called him. 

Amitabh Bacchan :  Mein Amitabh Bacchan bol raha hoon Koun Banega Karodpati se. 

Voice from the other side : Mein Shah rukh Khan bol raha hoon  !!! 

Hearing that, I could not control my laughter. 

But whatever prank call segment Amitabh Bacchan experienced, is actually happening in daily life and it was not a prank !!

People mimicking the voice of Amitabh Bacchan fool people in the above  said manner and demand money.

Innocent people who were not aware of all these, fall for this easily and lose their money.

Its good thing that finally all people have come to know what is real and what is fake. 

Truth always hurts  !!! 

Why do we celebrate Bali padyami ?

 Today is Bali padyami.

Bali chakravarti is one of the greatest Kings. He had entire world under his control.

He was never deviated from the path of truth. He was a great devotee of God Vishnu and every one prised his rule.

According to the advice of his guru Shukracharya, he started doing Ashwamedha yagas.

Bali chakravarti has done 99 yagas.  If he completes just one more yaga, he would be eligible for the post of Indra.

Indra didn't want this and asked the help of God Vishnu to get rid of him. Though Bali is a demon king, he was the ardent follower of God Vishnu.

He was ruling the world in the right way and people were living happily and in prosperity. 

Indra's mother Aditi had taken the promise from God Vishnu that he will help Indra in his difficult times.

God Vishnu didn't want to kill Bali Chakravarti as he has no reason to kill. 

God Vishnu took the form of a small kid, Vamana and asked Bali to give the land equivalent to his 3 foot steps. 

Bali chakravarti asked Vamana to ask something more as whatever now he asked was too less. 

But Vamana was adamant and Bali had to fulfil the wish. But Vamana started to grow vast in size. 

By now he has occupied whole universe under his 2 foot steps. He innocently asked Bali where can he keep his third foot step ?

By now Bali has understood that Vamana is none other than God Vishnu himself.

Bali chakravarti politely asked Vamana to keep his third foot step on his head.

Vamana by keeping his foot on the head of Bali chakravarti pushed him down to patala loka. 

As God Vishnu was impressed by works of Bali chakravarti, he blessed him to visit the earth once in a year.

On Bali padyami,  we believe that Bali chakravarti comes to earth from patala loka and visit us. 

King Kohli made impossible to win match to winning match !!!

 Yesterday was the high voltage match between India and Pakistan of T20 World Cup.

Pakistan batted first and scored 159 runs in 20 overs . 

India was successful in making Pakistani opener to get out quickly. But batsman Masood didn't get out. 

He and Iftikar went on piling runs. For my badluck, I witnessed how these 2 batsmen punished Indian bowlers specially Harshal Patel. 

In his first over, he gave 27 runs all thanks to 3 back to back 6 s. 

Though Hardik Pandya and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar succeeded in getting wickets, Pakistan did manage to score big total of 159 runs. 

Indian's start was pathetic. At the end of first power play,  that is the end of first 5 overs, almost half of Indian top order batsmen are back to pavilion.

For just 32 runs for 4 wickets, India was batting like it has come well prepared for losing the match. 

Even Surya made my hopes to get dim as he also could not stick to crease.

Now Kohli and Hardik Pandya are batting and did managed to come close to target. 

In the final over, India needed 26 run from 6 balls. 

 

At this crucial time,  Hardik  Pandya got out. Then came Ashwin. 

Both Kohli and Ashwin together made the total to be 1 run from 1 ball. 

Here Pakistani bowler contribution is  noteworthy as he made the last ball to be a wide ball   !!! 

Hence India got 1 extra run and also one more ball. 

Ashwin hit a 6 in last ball !!! 

There by India winning the match it was about to lose. 

Captain Rohit Sharma came running to ground and literally lifted up Kohli in his arms !!! 

Perfect diwali gift for us from team India  !!!

Amitabh Bacchan recently said this  story on Kaun Banega Karodpati program.

The story is on putting efforts.

One day in the school, teacher asked students to write an essay on putting efforts. At that time each and every student were  trying to write an essay on the topic. 

But Bunty didn't write any essay. He handed over the empty paper to teacher.

After reading each and every essay written by students, teacher happily returned the papers to students.

Bunty 's paper was at the end as he didn't write anything.

Teacher called out Bunty' s name and asked him why didn't he write anything?

Bunty replied I have given the example of putting efforts.

As you can see that the paper is empty as I didn't write anything. That itself means I didn't put efforts. 

After concluding the story, Amitabh Bacchan said, 

Every day life comes up with a new page. It is upto us whether to write or not on the paper. 

If we put efforts, we can write a good essay. But if we don't, paper will be blank as it is and the day passes. 

My views on Bhoota kola

 Nowadays big controversy is happening around Bhoota kola.

Here are my views about Bhoota kola as I am staying in Udupi district where Bhoota kola is prominent.

I have my ancestors house near Katapadi. 

Father of my great grandfather was a chef. He used to prepare food for the seers of udupi adamaru matha. 

Because of him, our family got the surname as bhat.

At that time, as a recognition for his work, seers had given some form land to us.

My ancestors had given the responsibility of ploughing to other people. That time, as a guardian of our farm land, they were worshipping  the diety   Verte Panjurli.

But as the time passed, our farm lands have been given to those who are actually working in it according to government rules.

Though now  there is no land, still we have continued to worship the deity Verte Panjurli.

We don't perform kola or tambila for the deity. 

Once in a year, we, all our family members, unite and pay our prayers to diety. 

We offer panchakajjaya ( made of jaggery and poddalu or poha ) to diety. 

It is a tradition that we follow since my great grandfather times.

It is the matter of belief. 

You will not realize until you feel it

 Long ago , there was a man . He was a spiritual teacher . He was running a school which teaches spirituality to his students .

One day he had a dream that he is going to die after 2 days and he will reborn as a piglet in the surrounding.

The teacher was scared of the dream he got . He was not afraid of dying but what worries him is that he is going to reborn as a piglet !!!

He certainly didn't want to have that birth . So he called one of his students and said him that he is going to die in 2 days .

Student was shocked by hearing that . He asked his teacher what can he do for him?

Teacher replied that he don't want to live the life of a piglet in his next birth . He explained to his student that as soon as he dies , th e pig in the neighbourhood will give birth to 4 piglets .

The teacher himself will reborn as one of the piglet . The piglet which would be having a white scar on its head would be his rebirth .

He asked the student to kill that particular piglet with scar on its head . Because that piglet is his rebirth and he don't want to live the life of a piglet .

Student agreed . Same thing happened . As soon as the teacher died ,, pig of neighbourhood gave birth to 4 piglets .

One of the piglet was having a white scar on its head . By seeing that , student came with the sharpened knife to kill the above said piglet.

But when he was about to kill the piglet , piglet started talking. It asked the student not to kill him as he wants to explore the life as a pig !!

That's why we will not realize the importance of a thing until we feel for it .

Largest bay in the world

 Largest bay in the world area wise is bay of Bengal.

Now what is a bay and how it is formed ?

Bays are formed when the coast line is eroded into the ocean. 

Ocean water crashed into the coastline eroding layers by layers for many years.

This results in the formation of a bay.

The Bays can be both sea water and fresh water.

Both rivers and sea water could be the cause of erosion. Erosion for many years forms a bay.

The largest bay in the world area wise is bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal is situated in the North Eastern part of Indian ocean.

It is surrounded by India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Andaman and Nicobar Island. 

Koun Banega Karodpati question

 This question was asked in Koun Banega Karodpati program.

I asked the question to my nephew Anirudh. He gave me the correct answer.

He is now in 4th standard. 

Question

Swat Valley which was flooded recently, is in which country?

1. Bangladesh

2. India

3. China

4. Pakistan

When I asked the question to Anirudh, he instantly gave me the correct answer.

Pakistan

I was totally impressed.

 I asked him what he knows about Swat Valley?

Then he said,

I don't know anything about Swat Valley.

But I know that recently there was the flood in Pakistan. 

Looking at the options, I have given answer  !!!

Listening to that I was impressed as Aniruddha is just 10 years old but he

has got the ability to think positively. 

Indian bowlers restricted SA to lowest total.

 Yesterday was the final match between India and South Africa one day International.

I feel bored to watch 50 over match.

So I started to watch from evening 6 o'clock.

India has started batting. Gill and Dhawan were at the crease. 

Now I looked at how much South Africa has scored. 

I couldn't believe my eyes..!!!!

South Africa has scored just 99 runs from 50 overs  !!!!

Required run rate is just 0.91.

I cursed myself for watching the game late. 

Indian bowlers Siraj, Shardul Thakur were exceptional in bowling. Spinner Kuldip Yadav shined by taking 4 wickets.

Indian openers Dhawan got out early. But Gill and ishant kishen were there.

But Ishant Kishen didn't stay for more time. 

Then came Shreyas Aiyyer. Both Gill and Shreyas were trying to score runs. 

Gill got out when he was at 49 runs. 

Shreyas Aiyyer finished the low score match by hitting a 6. 

Thus India won the match and also the series. 

Though we had inexperienced players in the team, we were able to win the game. 

Centurion and deprived of century.....

 Yesterday was the 2nd one day International cricket match between India and South Africa.

South Africa batted first and gave the target of 279 runs to chase for India.

Yesterday's match India had to win to keep the series alive. 

India started to bat but lost the openers quickly. 

Then came Ishan Kishen and Shreyas Aiyyer. 

These two batsmen steadied India and also made India to win the match. 

Ishan Kishen was aggressive. When he was at 93 runs, the ball he shot was caught by the opponent fielder. 

All the way he had batted and when it is the time to win the match, he got out and also missed his century. 

He must have been heavy hearted as he before leaving the crease, squatted for some time holding the bat in his hand. 

This showed how much he was feeling depressed........ 

But Shreyas Aiyyer didn't make any mistakes and scored a century and was the man of the match too.

After watching the match, I thought because of these 2 boys, the game was won and also they made the series to be alive. 

Miller, the killer India vs South Africa 1st ODI

 Yesterday 1st one day match between India and South Africa.

In Indian cricket team, all big guns were absent. Shikher Dhawan was the captain.

South Africa batted first after 10 over delay caused by rain. 

Except the captain of South Africa, and Markham all other batsmen scored. Specially Miller,, the killer. 

Watching the game of Miller, I dared not to watch further match.

India was having 2nd grade inexperienced team. Though Sanju Samsung tried to give a fight back, India lost to South Africa by just 9 runs. 

My observations from the match

 Yesterday was the last  T20 match of the 3 match T20  series between India and South Africa.

South Africa cricket team is having serious problems as their captain himself is not scoring beyond single digit run. 

India has already won the series. This match result will not be considered. 

Finally South Africa won by 49 runs. 

I remembered one Koun Banega Karodpati question. The reason will be known why I am writing this article, soon. 

Which country flag is having more number of colours?

1. India

I tried to remember the flags of all the above said countries.

Though I remembered the design of flags, l could not count how many colours are there in them.

Yesterday I had a good look at South Africa flag. I made a list. 

India flag has 4 colours  including the colour of Ashoka Chakra which is blue.

China's flag is 2 coloured red and yellow.

USA flag has 7 red and 6 white straps with  15 white stars in a blue coloured square at the top corner. Total  4 colours. 

South Africa flag has 6 colours green, red, black, white, gold, blue., with a Y shape in the middle. 

So it is the South Africa flag which has more number of colours in it. 

I thought it is a good thing to write. 

Scorching Surya shining bright !!

 Yesterday was the 2nd T20 cricket match between India and South Africa.

India was batting first. Openers Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave the solid start. 

In the first power play itself, India has scored 50 runs with a run rate of 10.

But I was feeling restless. If these 2 players are not getting out, then when will Surya come to bat ?

Finally both of them got out and in the crease, Surya with Kohli.

Surya didn't disappoint. He can bat in all the directions. He has become the batsman to complete 1000 runs fast.

But he got run out. India had scored 237 runs. 

Big total to chase for South Africa. They tried their level best. With d'cock playing century, it seems that they are going to win.

But they are short of 16 runs to victory.

India has won the match and also the T20 series. 

Being a nobody!!!

 Once Mulla Naseeruddin went to a formal function. After going 

inside, he sat down on a chair.

Watching him sitting down on the chair, host of the party came 

running towards him and said that the chair is only for noble 

people.

Naseeruddin nodded his head and said even he is a noble man. 

Hearing that, host was surprised.

Host : are you a diplomat?

Naseeruddin : no, higher than that.

Host :  are you a minister?

Naseeruddin : no, higher than that.

Host ( sarcastically) :  are you a king ?

Naseeruddin : no, higher than that.

Host ( angrily) :  nobody is higher than the king.

Naseeruddin :  I am that nobody  !!!
