Shardul Thakur heroic efforts in death overs helped India to win the match against West Indies

Yesterday was the series decider match against West Indies as the  3 match series was tied at 1 - 1 .

West Indies batted first and posted a huge score of 315 . By listening to the score itself , I decided India is going to lose the match .


I switched off t.v.  But I started watching in the last 5 overs . As I got the intuition that India will win the match , I started watching .


It was a very tight match . According to me , Shardul Thakur's boundary and sixer helped India to get rid of the tension of maintaining run rate .

But no one is talking about that ....


The tensed match went like this .....

47 run required in 37 balls
33  run required in 28 balls
25 run required in 21 balls
8  run required in  13 balls
1  run required in   9 balls


Like this , India has won the match against West Indies .

I heard strange sound during the night ......

Yesterday I went to bed early after having dinner . I had switched off all the lights . Only the audible sound is of that of turning fan .




Everything was quite ......

My eyelids were shutting down slowly ....

Suddenly I woke up hearing the sound . It actually wasn't a sound , it is sort of someone is grumbling ....



Now I am wide awake . Laying down on bed  , I just looked here and there . Nothing unusual about the surroundings . I again tried to close my eyes . There it was again .....




This time I figured it out , the source of sound . Its my own stomach .....


The abdominal sounds we hear , is because of the movement of food , liquids , digestive juices and also of air through the intestine .


The walls of the gastrointestinal tract is made up of muscles . When we eat , the walls contract to mix and squeeze the food through intestine so that it can be digested .


If it is not accompanied by the symptoms like vomiting , nausea and diarrhoea , the sounds suggest that our gastrointestinal tract is at good condition ..!!!

Today India vs West Indies first one day international cricket match

Today the first one day cricket match between India and West Indies cricket teams will be played in Chennai at   1.30 pm .


This one day cricket series is being played after India's win over West Indies in T20 cricket series by 2-1.

Totally 4 matches against West Indies had been played in Chennai so far . Out of them India has won in 3 matches and West Indies in 1 match .


 If we go by the statistics , India must win this match easily . But it is also predicted that rain may disrupt the game .

Why do we weigh less in water?

This article I am writing all based on how I understood the topic .


The question is very clear . Take any object whether it is living or life less ( like stones ) . Weigh them before dipping in water . Note down the reading . Now dip it in water . Now weigh it inside the water .


When we take down the reading , we observe that the weight is lesser compared to what it was outside the water .


There is no deformation . But weight is less . HOW ???


This is called buoyancy . This is the upward force exerted by water .


Now think we droped a stone in a bucket full of water . Now what happens ? Some amount of water gets spilled outside the bucket .


That means some force was there which was responsible for the spilling of water outside . This force is buoyancy , the upward force exerted by water .


Immersion of an object depends on its density . If the object is denser than water , it sinks . If it is lighter then it floats .

Why does a rose plant has thorns ?

According to botanists ,  rose plants don't have thorns ! They actually have prickles . It is a defence mechanism of rose plant . Usually rose plant has an extremely attractive flower with good fragrance . Rose plant has developed these prickles to protect themselves from plant eating animals .

Thorns are modified leaves . We can see thorns in cactus which grow in desert like places . These plants can not afford the leaves with large span area as they result in more loss of water content .

That's why these plants have developed thorns which requires less amount of water .

ಬೀರಬಲ್ಲನ ಕಿಚಡಿ , ಅಮಿತಾಭ್ ಬಚ್ಚನ್ ಹೇಳಿದ ಕಥೆ

ಹಿಂದಿ ಚಾನೆಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕೌನ್ ಬನೆಗಾ ಕರೊಡ್ಪತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಹೋದ ಗ್ಲ್ಲು ಗಿದಿ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಎಪಿಿಸ್ ಹೆೆ ತ್ಮುಗಿದಿಗ್ದೆa .  ಎಪಿಸೋಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಿತಾಭ ಬಚ್ಚನ್ ಹೇಳಿದ ಕಥೆ .


ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್ ಇಡುತ್ತಾನೆ . ಚಳಿಗಾಲದ ಸಮಯ . ಯಾರು ಕೊರೆಯುವ ಚಳಿಗೆ ಕೆರೆಯ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಇಡೀ ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು .



ಈ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ ಕೇಳಿ ಓರ್ವ ಬಡವ ಈ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ . ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ಪಡುವಂತೆ ಕೊರೆಯುವ ಚಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡೀ ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಿಂತೂ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನೆ .


ಬಹುಮಾನ ಕೊಡುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ಬಡವನ ಬಳಿ ಇದು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ . ಮುಗ್ಧ ಬಡವ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಬೀದಿದೀಪ ಇತ್ತು . ಅದನ್ನೇ ದಿಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಳೆದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ .



ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅಕ್ಬರ ನಿನಗೆ ಬೀದಿದೀಪ ದ ಬೆಳಕಿನಿಂದ ಶಾಖ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ . ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಕೊರೆಯುವ ಚಳಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ನೀನು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲ ಕಳೆದೆ . ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ .


ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತುಂಬ ನೋವಾಯಿತು . ತನ್ನ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಇದೇ ಬೆಲೆಯೇ ಎಂದು ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡ . ಮರು ಮಾತನಾಡದೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಹೊರಟ .


ಬೀರಬಲ್ಲನಿಗೇ  ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತುಂಬ ವ್ಯಥೆ ಆಯಿತು . ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಿ ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಕೊಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ .


ಅದರಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಛಾವಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಖಿಚಡಿ ತಯಾರಿಸಲು ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟ . ನಂತರ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನೆಲದ ಲ್ಲಿ ಒಲೆಯನ್ನು ಉರಿಸಿದ . ನಂತರ ಅದರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೈ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ನಿಂತ .


ಅತ್ತ ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಾಪ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಅಕ್ಬರ ಬೀರಬಲ್ಲ ನ ಅನುಪಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಗಮನಿಸಿದ . ಚಾರರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಬೀರಬಲ್ಲ ಖಿಚಡಿ ತಯಾರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಉತ್ತರ ಬಂತು .


ಸಂಜೆ ಆದರೂ ಬೀರಬಲ್ಲ ನ ಸುಳಿವಿಲ್ಲ . ಬೀರಬಲ್ಲ ತಯಾರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಖಿಚಡಿ ಎಂಥದ್ದು ಎಂಬುದು ನೋಡಲು ಸ್ವತಃ ಅಕ್ಬರ ನೆ ಹೊರಟ .


ಬೀರಬಲ್ಲ ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ ಬೀರಬಲ್ ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಒಲೆ ಉರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ . ಛಾವಣಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ನದ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದೆ . ಬೀರಬ ಲ್ ತದೇಕ ಚಿತ್ತದಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನೇ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ .

ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ಬೀರಬಲ್ ಬಳಿ ಏನಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಬೀರಬಲ್ ಎಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಒಲೆ ಉರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಬೇಯುತ್ತನೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ .

ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ನಗುತ್ತಾ ಅದು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯ? ಅಷ್ಟು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಇರುವಾಗ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಾಖ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಿಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದ .

ಆಗ ಬೀರಬಲ್ ತುಂಬಾ ದೂರ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬೀದಿದೀಪ ಶಾಖ ಕೊಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದಾದರೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ದೂರದ ನನ್ನ ಖಿಚಡಿ ಯೂ ತಯಾರಾ ಗಲೇ ಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ .


ಅಕ್ಬರನಿಗೆ ಬೀರಬಲ್ ಏನು ಹೇಳ ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಿತು . ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅಕ್ಬರ ಬಡವನ ಬಳಿ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಇತ್ತು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು .

Humour of Swami Vivekananda

Once Swami Vivekananda had been to his friend's house . They were sitting and chatting in the garden .


At that time itself  , a raged bull entered the garden . It was in such an angryness that it seemed it would throw away anyone who comes in its way .


Seeing the bull in rage and also it was coming towards them , the persons who were sitting chatting suddenly started running .


There was an old lady too . Even she tried to get up and run but could not . She fell down on ground . No one were there to help her .


Swami Vivekananda stood infront of the lady facing the bull . Every one was stunned by seeing Swami Vivekananda standing tall without any scare and looking at the bull .


The bull came running towards Swami Vivekananda . But by seeing his face , it stopped . Slowly it started taking back steps , finally it was gone .


Every one came running towards Swami Vivekananda . They congratulated him for his bravery . At that time , some one asked him what he was thinking when bull was nearing him ?


That time , Swami Vivekananda replied " I was calculating the distance of the place I may fall from this place , if the bull topple me ! "

Who is ill-fated ?

There was this bus carrying 54 passengers and was going through a dense forest . That time twice lightning struck over bus. Driver somehow managed to get the bus near a safe place.


Driver got out of the bus and said " there must be an ill fated person in the bus. I somehow managed to come here. For the next journey to take place , everyone must get down from bus . In 5 minutes of time ,nothing happens to him / her , they are safe and can climb back the bus . I will be the first one . "

Like that he said and stood out side. Nothing happened. Then he came inside bus and urged everyone to do like that .

All 53 passengers did the same . Nothing happened. Now all eyes on the last passenger . He slowly got up . He knew that everyone is thinking he is the ill fated person. He got down from bus.

As soon as he got down the bus, lightning struck over bus and all the remaining 53 passengers got killed on the spot !






Now who is the ill fated person ?????!!!!

,Is it a butterfly or a moth ?

Yesterday morning ,when I was walking in our front yard , I saw a butterfly sitting on the ground .


I wondered the butterfly must be feeling hungry , that's why it has come in search of nectar early in the morning . I wanted to catch it .


But I felt uneasy . Butterflies are colourful . Anyone who watches them flying , feels happy too . But this one is black in colour . that too it has spread its wings wide open.


I thought it may not be a butterfly .  It must be something else .



My father said it is not a butterfly but a moth . Both butterfly and moth belongs to same family . That's why they look same .


But there are some differences between them . I have listed them down .

1.  Butterflies are seen during day time where as moths are nocturnal creatures . Means they are seen during night .


2.  Butterflies rest with  their wings closed whereas moths rest with their wings open .



3 . Moths get attracted towards light during night .

Don't compare yourself with others.......

In a city, there lived a crow . It was ashamed of itself thinking that it is not beautiful to look . As soon as it appears , everyone is shooeing it away . It was thinking that people are doing like this because of its black colour. One day it was happened to fly across a zoo . That time , it saw a swan . Swan is having full white colour body . Crow compared its black coloured body with that of swan`s . It was very eager to talk with swan. Crow went near swan and praised its white coloured body . But to its surprise , swan was not at all happy with it . Swan said it wished to be a parrot who is having green coloured body and red colour beak . Crow went to meet parrot . Swan was right . Parrot is having green coloured body and red coloured beak . Crow compared swan with parrot and it concluded parrot is more beautiful than swan . But it was wrong as it found out after talking with parrot . Parrot is envious of peacock saying that peacock is having different coloured feathers and also a crown on its head ! Surprised crow went near peacock too . After watching peacock dancing , crow knew what parrot meant . Peacock is the beautiful bird amongst them . Crow went and congratulated peacock for its beauty . But peacock was not at all happy . It said it wished to be a crow ! If it were crow , then no one will put it in cage or enclosure . It would be a free bird enjoying its freedom and it could go anywhere it wants . Crow realized that beauty lies in our mentality not in our external features .

Kapil Sharma show , Saturday episode

On 9 November , 2019 Saturday Kapil Sharma show was hilarious as usual . Cast of Marjavaan film were the guest on the show .


I am not going to describe the show . But in that episode , one incident happened and it made me curious . I want to share that incident .


Kapil gave the balloons filled with helium gas to guests , and he asked them to inhale it . Then they can either sing or say a dialogue .


Guests did as Kapil said . When they are performing after inhaling the helium gas , it was totally funny. Their voice was changed !!!!


Here where I got curious . I wanted to know why their voice got changed suddenly ? The transformation of voice was not permanent .




Helium gas is much less dense than the regular air . Due to this lower density , sound travels faster ( nearly twice the speed ) as it would have travelled through regular air  .


When we breathe in helium , our voice travels much more quickly across our vocal chords . This results in the funny sounds we make after inhaling the helium gas and trying to talk .


The change in the voice only lasts as long as helium gas is in our vocal chords . As soon as regular air replaces the helium gas , our voice returns to normal .

Fake fog

In Hindi horror movies , whenever ghost appears , we can see the white fog first accumulating the area. In our movies , it is the sign of entry of GHOST ! The fog what we see in movies is not the natural one. This fog can be generated anywhere and at any time. How ?????????? ???? This fog is because of vaporization of dry ice. Dry ice is actually solid form of carbon dioxide ( CO 2 ) . Even we can produce the same foggy effect in our house. All we need is hot water in a container and dry ice. Dry ice is extremely cold and if touched with bare hands , it may result in frost byte. That's why dry ice should be handled with care wearing hand gloves. Now when we place the dry ice inside the hot water container , dry ice vaporize thus giving carbon dioxide gas. This gas results in fake fog. Though carbon dioxide is not toxic or inflammable , it is better to do this experiment in well ventilated area.

Churning of milk using centrifugal force

We know when we churn milk , we get cream and skimmed milk. But do you know that in milk processing diaries , they use centrifugal force to separate the cream from milk ? Science is behind everything we do. Now let us see how they make use of centrifugal force. They use centrifugal separator for this work. This is based on the fact that when two liquids of different specific gravities revolve around the same center at same distance with the same angular velocity , a greater centrifugal force is exerted on the heavier liquid than on the lighter one. In this case, milk can be regarded as made of two liquids of different specific gravities , serum and the fat. Milk enters the rapidly revolving disc. The solid impurities in the milk are thrown back to the outer surface. The cream which is less dense than the skimmed milk settles inside of the disc. Thus, cream and milk are separated from each other.

ನಿನ್ನೆಯಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಶುರುವಾಗಿದೆ . ಮೊನ್ನೆಯಷ್ಟೇ ಕ್ಯಾರ್ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಸಿ ಹೋಗಿದೆ . ಈಗ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು . ..


ನಾನು ಕಂಬಳಿ , ಸ್ವೆಟರ್ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಡಿಚಿ ಮೂಲೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದೆ . ಈಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊರ ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಕು . ಅತಿ ಆದರೆ ಅಮೃತ ಕೂಡಾ ವಿಷ . ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ದೆ ಈ ಗ .



ಪಿರಿ ಪಿರಿ ಮಳೆ ಯ ಸಹವಾಸ ಸಾಕಪ್ಪಾ ಸಾಕು . ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಬಿಸಿಲು ಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ .

ನಾನಿರುವ ಊರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಉಡುಪಿ . ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವಂತೆ ಕೇನ್ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತದ ಆರ್ಭಟ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜೋರಾಗಿಯೇ ಇತ್ತು .


ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಬಿಡುವು ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ . ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸಲ ಮಳೆಗಾಲವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುವ ಮಳೆ ಕಾಣಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು .


ನನ್ನ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದು ಎರಡೇ ಕಾಲ . ಒಂದು ಮಳೆಗಾಲ , ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ಕಾಲ . ಆದರೆ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತದ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಇಡೀ ದಿನ ಚುಮು ಚುಮು ಚಳಿಯ ಅನುಭವ ಆಯಿತು .


ನಾನು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ತಣ್ಣೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದು . ಇಷ್ಟಾದರೂ ಬರಿಯ ೫ ನಿಮಿಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆವರು ಒಸರಲು ಶುರು .


ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸಲ ಹಾಗಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ . ಚಳಿಯ ಅನುಭವ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿಯೇ ಆಯಿತು . ರಾತ್ರಿ ವೇಳೆ ಮಲಗುವಾಗ ಯಾವ ಮೇಲು ಹೊದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳದ ನಾನು ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಕಂಬಳಿ ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ .


ಆದರೆ ಇನ್ನು ಇವುಗಳ ಅಗತ್ಯ ನಮಗಿಲ್ಲ.  ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತವು ಓಮನ್ ದೇಶದ ಕಡೆ ಹೋಗಿದೆ  . ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬಿಸಿಲಿನ ಝಳ ಶುರುವಾಗಿದೆ .

How to control anger ?

This incident shows how to control anger.

Saint Eknathji was famous for his soft nature . He was seen always singing songs about god . No one has seen him getting angry on others .

A rich man who hated Eknathji , was waiting for a opportunity to prove Eknathji wrong . A poor man had come near him asking financial help .

That time , rich man said he will help only if poor man is successful to make Eknathji angry . Poor man was in a great urgency for money and he agreed .

He went near Eknathji's house . That time , Eknathji was singing song praising god . Poor man stood at door and started abusing Eknathji. But he continued singing without paying attention.

This made poor man helpless . But he was in great need of money . So he entered the house and again started abusing . But this time also, Eknathji did not react . Poor man was now tired .

He sat down . That time, Eknathji came near him and asked him to have food as he look tired . Poor man thought this as the right time to insult Eknathji and he agreed .

Eknathji's wife was serving food . That time, this fellow jumped and sat on her back . Eknathji saw this and cautioned his wife to be careful as guest is sitting on her back .

Even his wife said she has practice of carrying a child on her back . This made poor man to surrender himself and he apologised near Eknathji saying that he had done all these pranks just for money as rich man had offered him .

Listening to that , Eknathji was very upset .


Why ????

Because if he had known the true reason , he would get angry and be of some help to poor man to get the money!!!!

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೋಟ್ಯಧಿಪತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ

ನಾನು ಟಿ.ವಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೋಟ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ನನನ್ನ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು .


ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ---

ಭಾರತದ ಯಾವ ಕೇಂದ್ರಾಡಳಿತ ಪ್ರದೇಶವು ಅರಬ್ಬಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಬಂಗಾಳ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂ ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಕರಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ ?


ದಾಮನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿಯು , ಪುದುಚೇರಿ , ಲಕ್ಷದ್ವೀಪ , ಅಂಡಮಾನ್ ನಿಕೋಬಾರ್ ದ್ವೀಪ ಸಮೂಹ


ನನಗೆ ಲಕ್ಷದ್ವೀಪ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಡಮಾನ್ ನಿಕೋಬಾರ್ ದ್ವೀಪ ಸಮೂಹ ಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ . ಅವು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಅರಬ್ಬಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಬಂಗಾಳ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆ .

ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಂಗಾಳ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿ ಯನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರ ತೀರವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ . ನನ್ನ ಅನುಮಾನ ದಾಮನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿಯು ದ್ವೀಪಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತ್ತು.


ಆದರೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಉತ್ತರ ಪುದುಚೇರಿ .

ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾದರೂ ಇದು ಸ ತ್ಯ . ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ಫ್ರೆಂಚರ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು . ಫ್ರೆಂಚರು ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಕೇರಳ ಸಮೀಪದ ಮಾಹೆ ಎಂಬ ದ್ವೀಪದ ಮೇಲೂ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು .


ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ಯನ್ನು ಫ್ರೆಂಚರಿಂದ ವಿಮುಕ್ತಾಗೊಳಿಸುವಾಗ ಸ್ವಾಭಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಹೆಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಸುಪರ್ದಿಗೆ ಬಂತು . ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸುವ ಗೋಜಿಗೆ ಹೋಗದೆ ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಹೆ ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಒಂದೇ ಕೇಂದ್ರಾಡಳಿತ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳು ಎಂದು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ .


ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪುದುಚೇರಿ ಅರಬ್ಬಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಬಂಗಾಳ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡರಲ್ಲೂ ತನ್ನ ಕರಾ ವಳಿ ಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ .

Question on Hindu mythology in KBC

Koun Banega Crorepati is being aired on Sony tv . I was watching repeat telecast . There host Amitabh Bachchan asked a question on Hindu mythology .


Question was who was responsible for the broken tusk of God Ganesh ?

I know that God Ganesh is having a broken tusk . But I didn't know the reason behind that . I waited for options . Options were ---


Vishnu  , Parashuram , Brahma , Indra


As I was not knowing the answer , I was very curious to know the answer . The correct answer is Parashuram



Amitabh Bachchan himself explained that once Parashuram had gone to Kailash to see God Shiva . But God Shiva was meditating and he had instructed God Ganesh  not to allow anyone inside till he finishes his meditation .


As he was instructed , God Ganesh didn't allow Parashurzm to enter inside . Parashuram insisted on entering . But Ganesh refused .


Eventually , fight took place between the two . Parashuram always has Parashu or axe as his weapon . God Shiva himself had granted this axe to Parashuram .


So when doing fight , Ganesh could not go against the weapon of his father . Parashuram broke one of tusk of Ganesh with axe .


Ganesh cried with pain . Hearing the noise outside , God Shiva's meditation was interrupted . He came out . He understood the situation .


Later , Parashuram apologizes for what he has done and God Shiva forgives him .

Why do house flies always rubbing their legs ?

Its my favourite time pass to play with the house flies . My game is simple . House fly is sitting on the table . I was sitting on the chair . I just lifted my hand . The house fly just flew off .


As I don't have any other important work to do  , I just looked at the  direction in which house fly was flown . It was sitting on the other side of table . It was watching me . As soon as I lifted my hand , it again flew off . Doing like this , I spent whole of my day .


While passing my time like this , I observed that the house fly was continuously rubbing its hands . I was curious about this . I came to know that house fly is having cushion like structure under its hands .


When it sits on bacteria ridden shit , these bacteria gets stuck to its hands . As house fly is hygienic minded , it always tries to get rid of bacteria which has got stuck to its hands by rubbing .


The sad part is that house fly does this rubbing sitting on eatables we are going to have . Thus spreading the bacteria and thereby disease .


Just to keep themselves hygienic , these house flies sit and rub their hands on our food . Thus making us sick .

How do snakes produce their venom?

Recently I have come to know some interesting facts about snakes. As I always write about the things which make me surprise , even today I am writing the same. Snake venom is made by organs which are evolved from its salivary glands. Even we have salivary glands. What is the work of saliva? It contains enzymes which help to chew the food and thus helps in digestion. But saliva of snakes contain ever more toxic enzymes , that make it poisonous. The toxins in snake's venom contain complex mix of proteins that alter blood pressure, prevent blood clotting and paralyze nerves. That's why we die when a poisonous snake byte us if we don't receive medical help immediately.

Effect of keeping hate inside against others

Once teacher saw his students talking bad about others. Teacher wanted to tell the students how bad it is to keep the hate inside ourselves against others through an example .

He asked the students to bring potatoes next day. Next day , he asked the students to put the potatoes inside their bag.

He warned them not to throw the potatoes without his permission . Students agreed and kept the potatoes inside their bag .

1 day over .....


2 days over .....

One week was over ....


But teacher didn't utter a word about potatoes .

Now potatoes have become rotten and foul smell was coming out of them. As each and every student had rotten potatoes with him , whole class is now covered with foul smell.

Students started feeling uneasy . That time teacher asked them to open their bag and to throw the potatoes away .

Students hurriedly did that . Foul smell has vanished now . Teacher explained " By keeping the feeling of hate against others in ourselves , we are harming our own health . It does bad to our own body , like the rotten potatoes . Until we throw them out of our mind , its our own health which is going to get spoiled . Do not nurture the feeling of hate for somebody ."

ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಸ್ವತಃ ಏಕೆ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಟೋಪಿ ಧರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ?

ಗಾಂಧಿ ಜಯಂತಿ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ನನ್ನ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಲೇಖನ .

ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿ ಗಳು ಗಾಂಧಿ ಟೋಪಿ ಧರಿಸುವುದು ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ . ಅದನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿ ತಾವು ಗಾಂಧಿ ಜಿಯವರ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಕರು ಎಂದು ಫೋಸ್ ಕೊಡುವುದು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ .


ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಒಮ್ಮೆಯೂ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಈ ಟೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿರುವ ಫೋಟೋ ನೋಡಿಲ್ಲ . ಮತ್ತೇಕೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಹೆಸರು ?


ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದ ವಿಷಯ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿಯವರು ಮೊದಲು ಈ ಟೋಪಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು . ಒಂದು ಸಲ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಅವರು ಒಂದು ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಹಾಗೆ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಟೋಪಿ ಧರಿಸಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು .

ಆದರೆ ಅ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟ ನೇತಾರ ಆಗಿದ್ದ. ಆಗಲೇ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿಯವರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ತಾನು ಗಾಂಧಿ ಟೋಪಿ ಧರಿಸುವುದು ಸೂಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದರು .


ಇದನ್ನು ಪೇಪರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿದೆ . ಸತ್ಯಾಸತ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ . ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಜಿಯವರು ಇದ್ದಾಗ ನಾನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಯೇ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ !!

Mixed fruit salad

This recipe I found in  newspaper . I remembered as it looks very easy and few ingredients.


Required ingredients  

1 . Fruits ( obviously ! )
2 . Chat masala
3 . Salt to taste
4 . Chilly powder


Method ---- -

Now except grapes and pomegranate , mix each and every fruits together . The above said fruits ( grapes and pomegranate ) should be mixed at the end .
Now add chilly powder , salt and chat masala . Mix well and serve .

Urad dal / split black gram has bacteria !

We all make idlis in our house as morning breakfast . To prepare the idli batter , we soak urad dal and rice in water and together we grind them.



After this , we keep the batter for fermentation for a fortnight . Now comes my topic of discussion .


What causes fermentation?

BACTERIA .


This much everyone knows . But from where did these bacteria come ? We have kept closed the lid of the vessel of batter throughout the night . So no question of atmospheric influence .



Then from where did these bacteria come ? We ourselves didn't add these bacteria !!!


These bacteria came from urad dal , we have used to prepare the batter . When we soaked urad dal in water , they got activated .


All bacteria are not harmful . Idli batter bacteria is one of them . Our small intestine itself is the harbour of many good bacteria which help in digestion of food .


Hence we must be thankful for bacteria for the fluffy and tasty idlis .

Pascal's principle and its illustration

What is Pascal's principle? In engineering, we come across the subject of Hydraulics very often. Hydraulics is mainly based on Pascal's principle. It states that " When there is increase in the pressure at any point of a confined fluid ( liquid or gas ) , there is equal increase in the pressure at every other point ". Now to illustrate this, we take a container having water in it. In the first try, we will put external pressure at the bottom of container. We make a note of it. Similarly, we measure the value of pressure in middle and at the top of container. Now we are putting the pressure at the bottom of container. But the readings at middle level and at the top of the container also points to same value as that of bottom level. Thus, it shows pressure is uniformly distributed across the fluid.

Story of Mulla Nasiruddin

Mulla Nasiruddin was a doctor . He was having a very doubtful wife . She was doubting the character of her husband if he returns to house late in the night .

Once , Nasiruddin was late . His wife started checking his shirt . She found some strands of black hair stuck to buttons . She started accusing Nasiruddin for being unfaithful to her and having an affair with a young lady .


Nasiruddin tried to convince her saying that her thinking is wrong . But she didn't listen .

Very next day , she got few grey strands attached to buttons . Again she started accusing Nasiruddin for having an affair with an old lady .

Nasiruddin was fed up of doubting nature of his wife . So , before leaving for his house , he made sure that there is nothing stuck to his shirt .

After reaching home , his wife again started accusing him after checking his shirt .




WHY ?????

Why does table salt becomes sticky during rainy season ?

Everyone must have observed this . The table salt we use daily becomes sticky during rainy season . I understood that the salt absorbs the water vapour present in the atmosphere as it is hygroscopic in nature . Thus it loses its free flowing capacity .


But there must be some criterion match for this phenomena . I observed that as soon as the rainy season starts , salt is not becoming sticky .


Upto 74% relative humidity and temperature upto 20 degree Celsius , salt will not absorb water vapour from atmosphere .



That means humidity level must be more than 74 % of usual and temperature should be less than 20 degree Celsius .


What may happen if temperature is even less than this .?


Solid salt crystals will become watery .

Astrologer saved his own life ....

King Indraverma was having the habit of seeking advice from an astrologer before starting any work .

Once his close friend had visited him. As usual , king asked the astrologer about future life of his friend . Astrologer opened his book , calculated for some time and then he said , friend will live only for 5 more days.

Listening to that , friend got angry and left the hall . Ironically , he died exactly after 5 days ! This made king angry and he summoned the astrologer to meet him .

Astrologer came and he saw that king is waiting for him with soldiers holding sword and it seemed they may attack at any moment .

King asked the astrologer when will he , himself die? Now astrologer is in fix . If he say some number , he was sure that king will order his soldiers to behead him in very next moment .

But he had to say something . King was waiting . He pretended that he is calculating something . Finally he replied " I will die just 2 days before your death "!

Now king is helpless . He had to leave the astrologer safe and sound , otherwise he is inviting his own death !

Proving air pressure is inversely proportional to volume

In engineering , we learnt that air pressure is inversely proportional to volume. I.e. p = 1/v Where p= pressure V= volume Provided temperature is constant. This means if pressure on material becomes less, its volume becomes more. Means it becomes bigger. If pressure is more then it becomes smaller. Now we will look at the experiment. All we need is a bell jar and partly blown balloon. Now keep the partly blown balloon inside the bell jar. Now take out the air which is present inside the bell jar using a vacuum pump. Now a surprising thing happens. The balloon which was inside the bell jar slowly starts to EXPAND !!!!!! No..... No...... This is not the work of a GHOST ! :-) It is pure science. Now we will look at what happened. ....... ........ ........ We have taken out all the air which was present inside the bell jar. Now balloon which is having little air, experiences pressure difference. In other words, the air outside the balloon is nil. So outside of balloon no air pressure. But balloon is having little air inside. So it is having little air pressure. As I said earlier, this difference in air pressure results in the increase in volume of balloon. The law stated the same ( see the start of article ) Increase in volume of balloon means it gets bigger by itself. How much it will go bigger depends on the difference in pressure. It is not the work of GHOST !!!!

Prankster God Ganesh learnt the lesson of being kind to animals

Ganesh chaturthi is coming . I am writing a story of God Ganesh during his childhood .


Ganesh is the child of divine couple God Shiva and Goddess Parvati . When he was the child , he was very naughty . He is such a prankster that Goddess Parvati is tired of his pranks he is playing daily .


One day , Ganesh was playing with cat . Soon after wards , his prankness got up and he was seen pulling the tail of the cat  .

Cat was meowing with pain but Ganesh continued to trouble the animal . Goddess Parvati was watching all of these . She felt bad for the animal and decided to teach Ganesh a nice lesson .


Soon Ganesh got bored of what is he doing , he headed towards home . As soon as he reached home , he saw his mother wounded all over her body . Goddess Parvati was moaning in pain .



Disturbed Ganesh ran towards his mother  , and asked her what happened and who did it ? Goddess Parvati replied that Ganesh himself has done this to her .


Ganesh was taken aback . Goddess Parvati said it was her in the form of the cat with which Ganesh was playing . But Ganesh caused her injuries by pulling the tail and troubling the cat .


Ganesh was ashamed of what he has done . He now understood that even animals can feel pain when they got disturbed .


After this incident , he never troubled an animal .

Thinking with pre-occupied mind

A concert was organised in the city hall by a famous singer . People had overcrowded the hall , to listen to the singing of their favourite singer .

Suddenly , there was an announcement from organizers . They said the singer has cancelled his program . Now instead of him , one more singer will continue the program .

Soon , new singer has arrived on stage . That time itself , there was a small disturbance among audience . But new singer didn't care and he continued singing . His singing was outstanding .

Audience , though they liked his singing , they continued to abuse him . Finally , the artist revealed his true identity . He was the famous singer himself who was to give the program earlier !

ಆಪದ್ಭಾಂದವ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣ

ಇವತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣ ಜನ್ಮಾಷ್ಟಮಿ ಆದ ಕಾರಣ ಈ ಕಥೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತು ..

ಪಾಂಡವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ದ್ರೌಪದಿ . ಅವಳಣ್ಣ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣ . ಒಂದು ಸಲ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಪಾಂಡವರ ಜೊತೆ ಮಾತಾಡಲು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆಯೇ ಬಂದ . ಊಟ ದ ಹೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು . ದ್ರೌಪದಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣನನ್ನು
ಉಪಚರಿಸು ತ್ತಾಳೆ .


ಊಟಕ್ಕೆಂದು ಅನ್ನ ಮಾಡಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ . ನೀರು ಬಿಸಿಗೆ ಇಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ . ಎಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತಾದರು ನೀರು ಬಿಸಿಯೇ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ . ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ .


ದ್ರೌಪದಿಗೆ ತಲೆ ಬಿಸಿ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ . ನೀರು ಬಿಸಿಯೇ ಆಗು ತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ . ದ್ರೌಪದಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಬಳಿ ಬಂದು ಈ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ವಿದ್ಯಮಾನವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ .

ಆಗ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ನಕ್ಕು ಆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಬಾವಿಗೆ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ನೀರನ್ನು ಬಿಸಿಗಿಡಲು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ . ದ್ರೌಪದಿ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಲು ನೀರು ಬಿಸಿ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ . ಅನ್ನವೂ ತಯಾರಾಗುತ್ತದೆ .


ಚಕಿತ ದ್ರೌಪದಿ ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯ ಬಯಸಿದಾಗ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮೊ ದಲು ಬಿಸಿಗಿಟ್ಟ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಣ್ಣ ಕಪ್ಪೆ ಮರಿ ಇತ್ತು . ನೀರು ಬಿಸಿಯಾಗುವಾಗ ಅದು ಪ್ರಾಣಭಯದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ನಾಮ ಸ್ಮರಣೆ ಮಾಡುತಿತ್ತು . ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ನಾನು ನೀರು ಬಿಸಿ ಆಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡೆ ಎಂದ .

What happens if we over water a plant ?

This question raised in my mind when I saw my mother watering the plants in our garden during the rainy season .

I have an opinion that we have to feed a person only when he is hungry . We must remember that we over eat when we starve . Starving and being hungry are both different things .


The same applies to plants too . Growing plants use oxygen for respiration just like we do . Roots are essential for a plant as they bring in water and nutrients . Healthy soil allows the oxygen to fill in the gaps between the soil .



If there is too much water or the soil is constantly wet , there is no enough water pockets between the soil particles . This results in limited oxygen supply and plants are not able to breathe . Eventually , plants will die .

Why does hitting a tv remote make it to work sometimes?

Today when I was watching tv , suddenly tv remote stopped working . I thought maybe the batteries of remote got exhausted . At that time , I accidentally hit the remote twice . After that , remote control started working !!!


This malfunctioning of tv remote is quite common . Everyone of us experienced it . The batteries we use in the remote control stays there for a long time . Because of this , an oxidation layer forms between the terminals and batteries of remote .


Now this oxidation layer is having a high resistivity to the flow of current . Thus it hampers the smooth working of remote .


At that time , if we hit the remote , it shakes the inside of remote . By hitting , we are slightly repositioning the battery contacts . Also it shocks the terminals of remote , thereby forming a scratch in the oxidation layer .


It reduces the resistance offered by the oxidation layer and allows the current to flow through it again . And we feel that remote control has started working again !!!

ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಕಥೆ

ಇವತ್ತು ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಹಬ್ಬ . ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆಯೇ ಈ ಕಥೆ .

ತುಂಬಾ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದು ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾರುಮತಿ ಎನ್ನುವ ಗೃಹಿಣಿ ಇದ್ದಳು . ಆಕೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಬಡವಳು . ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯ ಪೀಡಿತ ಅತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾವ ಇದ್ದರು . ಮನೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಇದರಲ್ಲೇ ಆಕೆ ಹೈರಾಣಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು .



ಆದರೆ ಅವಳು ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಯ ಭಕ್ತೆ .


ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ದೇವಿ ಬಂದು ನಾನು ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸದ ಎರಡನೆ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದಂದು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ  ಬರುತ್ತೇನೆ . ಆವತ್ತು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥ ಗಳನ್ನು ಈಡೆರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾತು ಕೊಟ್ಟಳು .

Positive thinking has given the life back

Rahul is the only son of his parents. Being 7 year old , he is very mischievous . His mother is always seen tired because Rahul don't listen to her. Out of curiosity , he go on touching inflammable things.

One day, Rahul's parents were out of city . Rahul was alone in the house . Though prohibited, Rahul went inside kitchen . He had seen his mother cooking . He started mocking the action.

First , he turned ON the knob of gas stove . But he didn't light it . He turned and switched ON mixer grinder.

Gas was leaking. There was a blast in the kitchen . Rahul lied down on floor with 70% of burns all over his body.

He was hospitalised. He was admitted in Intensive Care Unit. His whole body was covered in bandage except his eyes .

He was seeing his mother crying throughout day. He started to feel that his end has come. Even doctors after examination, said there is no hope.

That time he met a boy who was practising for his exam. Though he was outside, Rahul could hear his voice of by hearting poems and answers.

Rahul too started remembering . He became so interested that now he wants to go to school and start practising for exam!

He started showing improvements . To doctors' surprise , he was shifted to general ward . Less in a month , he was discharged from hospital!

His positive thinking to get cured as soon as possible , did the impossible , a reality.

Why do we have a running nose when we cry ?

I have observed it . When we cry tears come out of our eyes . That is quite obvious . But most of us will have the running nose too along with it . The liquid or snot we are having through our nose is quite watery unlike what we have when we get cold .


It is because the tears from our eye not only drain out onto our face , there is also a passage way in the inner corner of our eye that directly leads to our nose . In nose , tears get mixed with mucus ( which is already present there ) to form a very liquidy snot .



This is actually happening all the time . But we don't notice . But when we cry , there is lots of moisture from our eyes going into our nose , than the normal . Thus making the mucus even more liquidy than it would otherwise be .

Whatever is destined to happen , that will surely happen ...

Long ago , there lived a rich man in a village . Besides to his house , there lived a poor man in a hut . Rich man was thinking that this hut is bringing disgrace to his well built , large bungalow .

But rich man didn't dare to harm poor man as he is well known in village for his honesty and helping nature . Rich man could not do anything .

One day , a famous astrologer had visited the village . People were very eager to find the solution to their problems . Rich man had also gone near him .

By seeing rich man , astrologer predicted that rich man will lose all his wealth to a poor man who is his neighbour . Listening to that , rich man came back to his house .

He sold everything . If he don't have anything , how will poor man get his wealth ? Rich man bought a precious diamond in the money he got , after selling his property .

He decided to leave the village . If he is not in village , how can his neighbour will get his money ? He started travelling in a boat to nearby city .

But the boat he was travelling , sank in water for strange reason . Rich man somehow managed to save himself , but in the chaos he lost his precious diamond .

Now a fish has swallowed this diamond . This fish was a fatty fish and a fisherman caught the same fish . By seeing the huge fish , fisherman remembered poor man for the help he has done .

Fisherman presented the fish to poor man in gratitude . Poor man was surprised by seeing a diamond in the stomach of fish , when he cut the fish for cooking .

Now poor man has all the money that rich man used to have . Rich man is now penny less as he has lost the diamond worth crores of rupees .

Whatever is destined to happen , that will surely happen .

Why do they say in ads " kills 99.9% germs " , but not 100 % ?

I have always noticed that in tv ads of a soap or floor cleaning liquid ; they often claim that kills 99.9 % germs . Why don't say 100 %?

First thing we must understand is that nothing is perfect . I am not saying that they are misleading us saying that their products kill the germs .


There are many types of germs . It is not possible for a single product to kill all the germs responsible for the infection we have got .


When we go near a doctor for the cure for the infection , even they do trial and error method . On first time visit itself , no doctor can come to the final conclusion about the cause .


So , as the part of marketing strategy and also to be on the safer side , they declare like the kills 99.9% germs . If the product in use , failed to kill the germs responsible for the infection , the manufacturer must not be blamed .



I am confident that the products actually kill some type of germs . But not all . Also it is not good to use these products continuously as germs will soon develop resistance power .

Australia knocked out of world cup cricket !!!

I was depressed by watching the exit of India from world cup in the semi-final stage . India was at the 2nd place at points table , Australia being the first . Australia was also the first team to enter the semi-final . Above all , they are the last year champions .



India is knocked out of world cup in semi-final . Yesterday the 2nd semi-final match between England and Australia was played .


Even Australia suffered like us against England . They could not score more . They had posted an easy target for England .


England easily chased the target and won the match . The teams who were at the top 2 positions , ( India and Australia ) are knocked out of world cup .

Failure of Indian top order batsmen has closed the door of final of world cup cricket .

New Zealand vs India match is turning out to be one sided match after the failure of Indian top order batsmen .


All the 4 of Indian top order batsmen got out for just singles . This is the result of over confidence . New Zealand has given the target of 240 runs .



India is struggling. Though Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant are playing well , I wonder till how long they will stick to crease . It is very sad to see India having come this far , invincible , now finding it difficult to move upwards .

Semi-final match between India and New Zealand

Yesterday India has won the match against Sri Lanka . Australia has lost the match against South Africa . The first place in the score card goes to India .



Because of that , the 2 semi-final matches will be played between -----



   1 . India vs New Zealand
   2 . Australia vs England


New Zealand is the unstable team of this world cup cricket . They have come to the semi-final stage because of their good runrate .


My future prediction ----


India will win the semi-final match against New Zealand .. Similarly England will win the semi-final match against Australia .


The final match will be between India and England . India will take the revenge for the loss in league match against England and will win the final .

Hardik Pandya got out for a golden duck ....

Today India vs Bangladesh cricket match in on going world cup . India has won the toss and elected to bat first . India has posted a score of 314/9 .

India was able to score this much runs because strong first wicket partnership between Rohit Sharma and Rahul . Rohit scored one more century .


The highlight of the match is Hardik Pandya got out for a duck ! ( 0 run ).


India would have scored 30 - 40 runs more if Hardik Pandya stayed in the match . Bangladesh fielder dropped Rohit Sharma catch . This is going to cost them dearly as India is going to win this match and confirm its entry in semi-final .

Once again Hardik Pandya missed scoring half century .....

Yesterday was the day of match between India and England . I had predicted the win of English cricket team as soon as I came to know that England has won the toss . Because TOSSES WIN MATCHES .


When I saw the 160+ partnership for the first  wicket of England , I guessed that England is going to post a target beyond 300 .


What puzzled me was every ball bowled to English batsmen were either going to a boundary or a sixer . I even decided to urge ICC to restrict the number of boundaries and sixes hit by a player in an innings when playing against India .


I could not watch the suffering of Indian fielders . I thought sometimes they just let go the ball to reach boundary line .



By hearing about the mammoth target posted by England , not only me , everyone in our family came to conclusion that India's chances of winning is very less .



It was confirmed when Rahul got out . But what is wrong with Hardik  Pandya? Some one must remind him when he is in 45 , that if he play with patience  , there is a golden chance of scoring a half century in world cup cricket match .



As a true fan , I can't digest the fact that he is missing to score a half century just by 4 runs .

Hardik Pandya don't want to score his first half century in world cup cricket

Today is the day of match between India and West Indies . India has won the toss and elected to bat first . But Indian batsmen were struggling to score runs . It seemed as if it is difficult to score singles also .





Though India managed to score 268/7 as the final target , I strongly believe it is after the entry of Hardik Pandya , I had seen the Indian batsmen hitting big shots.





Hardik Pandya for the second time in this world cup cricket , got out for 46 runs . Though Dhoni is successful in completing his half century , Hardik Pandya is the eligible person for this feat .




I was heartbroken when I saw Hardik Pandya got out for 46 runs . He should have made the half century as he deserves it .

Afghan spinners rule in match between India and Afghanistan

Today is the day of match between India and Afghanistan . India has won the toss and opted to bat first .


But Afghanistan was fielding very good . So much that Rohit Sharma got out for just 1 run . Their spinners are very good in bowling .


The Afghanistan fielding is too tight that India managed to score its first boundary in the fifth over . Indian batsmen are taking just singles . It is very boring to watch the match .


Till now , Afghanistan has lost each and every match it has played . It is out of the world cup itself . It is very surprising to watch them like they are going to win the match .



I strongly believe that India would post a fighting target and will bowl out all Afghanistan batsmen . Even we have world class spinners .


For Afghanistan it doesn't matter if it win or lose the match . But for us , it would be very humiliating defeat , if we lose the match .

Ro ' HIT ' Sharma century in India vs Pakistan world cup match

Today is the day of world cup cricket match between India and Pakistan .  I was waiting to watch the match as everyone did .


I was little disappointed by knowing that Pakistan has won the toss . But I was happy when Pakistan decided to bowl first . That means India is going to bat first !!!



As opener Shikhar Dhawan was injured  , Rahul and Rohit Sharma had come to bat . Rahul was very nervous as he didn't score any runs in the first over .



It was Rohit Sharma who started to score first . Rahul got inspired . Both of them scored half centuries . After departure of Rahul , Kohli came .


Kohli gave good support to Rohit Sharma so that he can complete his century . Rohit Sharma got out scoring 146 runs .


Then came Hardik Pandya . He was assigned the job of hitting sixes and boundaries to raise the run rate . He did his job well . But could not stay for long time .


Dhoni quickly came and went . Rain has halted the match when India were 305/4 .



Pakistan is going to continue their record of losing to India in the world cup matches .

Cyclone Vaayu brings rain to udupi

I stay in udupi . During last few weeks , whole Karnataka was receiving pre - monsoon rains . But in coastal Karnataka there was no sign of rain .


The rivers which were the main sources of drinking water , all are dried up . The ground water level also drastically gone down . Here humidity is more compared to other parts of Karnataka . Hence we sweat more here .


Early in the morning it has rained .  But it is not the pre monsoon rains .  It is because of cyclone Vaayu . I liked the name Vaayu . I think it reflects indian culture and linguistics .






Now it is burning sun again . The monsoon clouds are still in Kerala . Till they reach here , we have to suffer under scorching hot sun and sweating .

Hardik Pandya shines in win against Australia

Yesterday was the day of match against Australia in world cup . India has won the toss and elected to bat first . At that time itself , I was confident of India's winning . Because in this world cup , the teams who batted first , have won the game .



Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are the openers who gave India a strong initial platform . Though they passed the first 10 overs by scoring just singles ,  Rohit Sharma managed to score 57 and Dhawan , a century .



After departure of Sharma , Kohli came . Since I am a Hardik Pandya fan , I will focus on the parts where Hardik Pandya shined .



Hardik Pandya got promoted to batting order no. 4 . Then started the fire works of boundaries and sixes . Hardik Pandya made 48 just in 27  balls .


He was about to make a 50 , but caught out . Hardik Pandya could have been the first one to score a fastest 50 in the world cup history , if he was able to complete his 50 .


India has scored 352 for 5 wickets .



When Australia started to bat  , the first wicket India got was in the form of a run out . This was possible because of Hardik Pandya !


In short , Hardik Pandya proved himself as a perfect all rounder . India has won the match . 

India vs South Africa cricket match in world cup

Yesterday was the first day of India's world cup journey . Though it is the first match for India , for South Africa it was the third match . South Africa had lost the last 2 matches it had played .


As I observed , all the matches have won by the teams who had opted to bat first . Yesterday also  , same thing happened . South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first .


Listening to the decision of South Africa to bat first , I was sceptical about win of India . But Indian fielding was very tight. South African batsmen could score only singles .


Indian bowlers were impressive . The first two wickets were taken by Bumrah . Then came spinner Yajuvendra Chahal . He has taken 4 wickets . It must be noted that this match was the first world cup match for both of them .


South Africa was restricted to just 228 runs . I was very confident that India would chase down the total easily . Same thing happened . India has won the match , with the help of Rohit Sharma century .

Pakistan vs West Indies world cup cricket match

I am feeling happy .


Though it is an open secret that why I am feeling happy , let me give the explanation .


In the practice match against New Zealand , West Indies cricket team had scored 400+ runs . This was the first time in world cup history .


At that time itself , I thought West Indies cricket team has emerged strong enough . Yesterday West Indies team bundled out Pakistan for just 105 runs !


I am really feeling happy for West Indies cricket team for their great performance !!!

Don't accept defeat before participating ....

Dev is learning violin . Nowadays he can play it easily . He has practised in both classical as well as western version of music .

By seeing his dedication and enthusiasm in playing violin , his master was very much pleased . He wanted Dev to assist great vocalists when they are singing .

He said the same to Dev . By hearing that , Dev's legs started trembling . He pleaded with master not to do that .

But master was firm in his decision . Master wanted Dev to come out of that inferiority complex . He contacted a vocalist and requested him to join Dev in his group .

Vocalist agreed . Both of them , vocalist and Dev started practising together . Dev could.not catch the timing of rhythm .

Vocalist started growing impatient . He thought he has done a mistake by taking Dev in his group . Dev could feel the uneasiness in surroundings .

He wanted to prove himself . But the fear of humiliation after losing , made things worse . His master worried about Dev's future .

There was a competition held in city for violinists . Master enrolled Dev's name without informing him . On competition day , Dev had gone to attend the competition as a spectator .

But to his horror , his name was announced on mike as next participant ! Dev didn't know what to do . He went on playing whatever he knew . Whole atmosphere fell silent when he started playing violin .

There were whispers among audience . Dev thought from that day onwards , he will not touch violin . As he finished playing , whole room was filled with applause .!!

Why do we get a smell when cooking cabbage ?

Today morning my mother was preparing food for the afternoon lunch . She was preparing cabbage Sambhar . So she had to cook the cabbage in an open vessel . As the cabbage pieces were boiling , I started to get an unpleasant smell which made me little uncomfortable . I began searching for the cause of smell .


Then I found out that the smell is the result of hydrogen sulphide gas that has been released when the cabbage is cooked for too long . The longer the cabbage is cooked , that much stronger will be the odour .



If we want to eliminate this odour , cooking the cabbage quickly in an open pan is one of the option . But the smell is not too hard to tolerate . 

Who is right !?

It's the 2nd standard class of a well-known school . Teacher is teaching them how to do addition . She wanted to explain with example .


She asked Rahul : " I will give you one apple now . After some time , I will give you one more apple . After that , one more apple . Tell me how many apples you have now ? "


Rahul answered , 4 apples .


Teacher again repeated the question . This time also , answer is 4 . Teacher thought its better to try with some other colour fruit .


Again she asked : " I will give you one mango . After some time , I will give another . After some time , I will give one more . Tell me how many mangoes you have now ?"


Rahul replied 3 mangoes .


Teacher was happy . She knew that Rahul is an intelligent boy . Again she repeated the question with apples . Rahul answer is 4 !


Teacher was about to lose her temper . But she remained calm , asked Rahul why is he answering differently with apples and mangoes ?



Rahul said , " I already have an apple with me . So when you give 3 apples , totally I have 4 apples . I don't have mangoes with me . So when you give 3 mangoes , that is the number of mangoes I have with me now !! "

The demon of fever : Jwarasura

We call fever in Kannada as Jwara . We all feel uneasiness and difficulty during fever . In Hindu mythology , Jwarasura is hailed as the deity of fever . Jwarasura = Jwara ( fever ) and Asura = demon .


This Jwarasura was born out from the sweat of the fore head of God Shiva when he was meditating . Soon he ( jwarasura ) started posing threats to gods .


He was such a menace that even God Vishnu got inflicted by him ( had fever ) once . God Vishnu killed this demon by cutting him into 3 parts . These each 3 parts have developed separate head and limbs . It is said that this demon has the remarkable ability to move in all the directions at once . 

Great donor , Karna

Once Arjun was constructing a temple . But he was short of wood for the indoor wooden works of temple . He didn't know what to do .

That time , Krishna suggested that if they ask Karna , he may lend some wood . Arjun was not ready for this . But on Krishna's insist , he went along with Krishna to Karna's house .

Karna after coming to know their demand , asked them to wait outside and he went inside the house . Time passes , he didn't return.

Arjun got impatient and was prepared to leave . That time , Krishna suggested to look for Karna inside the house . Both went inside .

Science experiment which surprised everyone.....

Today I am telling about the scientific experiment which surprised everyone. Let me take hot water in a long glass pipe and cold water in another. Now to differentiate between the two, I will add blue colour to hot water and red colour to cold water. Now I will make blue colour pipe upside down on red colour pipe. Meaning I am mixing cold water to hot water. Now we get surprised by seeing that blue coloured water is resting on red coloured water !!!! Means hot water layer is above the cold water. What is the meaning of this??????? ????? ?????? Water gets expand when heated. So density of hot water is now increased. Hot water is less denser than cold water. Hence it will stay at the top when we mix hot water with cold water. That's why we see two distinct layers of colours. Now I will do vice a versa . Now I will mix cold water to hot water. Means mixing red coloured water to blue coloured one. Now we will see a different colour throughout the pipe!!! Now what is the meaning of this???? ?????? ????? As I said earlier, cold water is denser than hot water. So when we mix cold water to hot water then cold water goes down of the pipe being denser. Means now both the coloured waters mix with each other and hence we get a new coloured water. Summary ---- Hot water is less dense than the cold water . So when we keep cold water below and hot water above , the lesser dense hot water is already on top of cold water . So we will see two different layers of water . Bottom is of red colour ( cold water ) and above that blue colour ( hot water ). Now when hot water is below of cold water , now hot water molecules start moving upwards as they are lighter than cold water molecules . This movement of hot water molecules upwards is called convection. At this time , there will be the mixing of both hot and cold water molecules . As we have coloured them , there will be the mixing of blue and red colour . Thus , we see the mixed colour , magenta colour water .

What makes hot air balloon to float ?

I have seen in the t.v. balloons floating in the air. Even people use hot air balloons to travel. Question came up in my mind why hot air balloon floats? Normal balloons according to my knowledge will not float . ????? ???????? ?????? It is because of change in density of air . As air becomes hot , its density becomes less meaning it becomes lighter than the surrounding air . As now it has become lighter , it floats . Same thing is used in hot air balloons . Now to land down , they make the hot air to get ventilated. Now density of air is becoming more and balloon will descend .

Types of people passing farts .......

Flatulence or passing the gas or farting is a natural phenomena . We pass gas at an average of 14 times a day .  Not everyone's farts are a smelly one . Moreover  , passing non smelly farts is a sign of good digestive system .


I observed that there are 2 types of people who passes farts .


1. Noise makers 

I must say that these people are not dangerous . They don't do any harm to the surroundings  , other than creating the noise . The gas they produce and pass is non smelly one . But it gives rise to embarrassing situation in a packed hall or a place where lots of people are gathered . These are the people who can be caught easily .


2. Silent killers

One must be very cautious about these type of people . They pass the farts , without any sound . Most of the time , the farts are smelly ones .


Imagine sitting in a packed gathering , full of people . Suppose there is a silent killer in the crowd . We will never come to know the origin of smell but we have to inhale the air with no choice left .

These people must go for a medical help .


3. People who makes passage for the gas to leave the body


These people are the sub category of the first one , noise makers . I haven't seen these type of people in silent killers .

I have noticed some people just tilt to their side , not completely , lifting up their bottom slightly ,when they pass farts . Obviously it refers to people in sitting position .


These people are the dare devils . They don't care for their reputation . They don't care for what other people may think of them .

I come in second category of silent killers . One advantage of this category is you always can put the blame on other person !!!


But if you are alone , we must be ready to inhale the fragrance of our own farts . 

Who has got the last laddoo ?!

In a village , there lived an old couple . They were childless . So , they don't have to do cooking for others . They don't have relatives too . All these made them misers .

Once , their neighbour had offered them laddoos of their son's birthday party . Old couple , for the first time have tasted a laddoo and they liked it .

 

Afterwards , they thought of preparing laddoos by themselves . Husband quickly went to market and bought all the ingredients required .

 

Wife had planned to prepare only 2 laddoos , one for each of them . But if they prepare laddoo in house , they have to share with neighbours .

 

Old couple don't want that . Hence they decided to go to nearby woods to prepare laddoos . Finally , wife prepared laddoos . But instead of 2 , she made 3 laddoos .

 

Both of them returned to their house . Now they have started quarelling on who will eat the extra laddoo ? Husband said he will as he went to market to buy the ingredients .

 

Wife didn't agree for that and said she will have the extra laddoo as she prepared them . Time passed but dispute was not solved .

 

Finally , they decided to be silent . Whoever first breaks the silence , he is the loser and he must give the extra laddoo to winner .

 

As it was late in the night , both of them slept by keeping the plate of laddoo in between . Soon , it became morning . None of them moved from their place fearing that they will lose the bet .

 

Time passed . Their neighbour was very curious to know why there is no sound coming from the house . He just peeped in the window . He saw old couple lying down without any movement .

 

He alarmed the whole village saying that old couple are dead . Whole village has gathered in the house of old couple . Still , old couple didn't do any movement fearing that they may lose the bet .




Villagers are now convinced that old couple are dead . They started preparations to do last rites of old couple . They brought the bodies to graveyard .

 

It was the time to ignite the bodies . Husband was very frightened by the sight of fire . He got up and said to his wife she has won the bet .

 

Listening to that , even wife jumped and got up . As villagers were puzzled by what is going on , old couple started running towards their house to eat laddoos .

 

But when they reached the house , they saw a stray dog having the byte of the last piece of laddoo !

Static Electricity and examples of it in daily life

We know that all the matter ( things ) are made up of atoms and all the atoms are made up of subatomic particles namely protons which are positively charged , electrons which are negatively charged and neutrons which are charge less. When two materials come close together, either of them lose their electrons and the other, gain the electrons. Now this imbalance of charges on objects results in STATIC ELECTRICITY. Opposite charges attract. If one object has positive charge and the other , negative then they attract each other. Similar charges repel each other. If one one object has positive charge and the other also has positive charge, then they will repel each other. Now we will take a plastic comb and rub it against wool. As we rub , comb loses electrons because of friction ( in this case rubbing activity ) and becomes negatively charged. Now if this comb is taken near paper pieces, then paper pieces will get attract to comb and come near the comb. So paper pieces are positively charged. Now we will take same 2 plastic combs. Now we will rub both of them against wool separately. Now when we make the combs to come together, they will repel each other as both of them now are negatively charged. This phenomena commonly referred as static electricity.

Australia bounced back to win the one day cricket series

Yesterday was the day of final match of 5 match one day cricket series . After losing the first two games of the series , Australia won the next two consecutive matches of the series .


After that , series of 5 matches is levelled at 2 - 2 . India had won the first two games and Australia , the next two consecutive matches .



So  , yesterday's final and series decider cricket match was a do or die match for both the sides . After winning toss and elected to bat first , Australia had scored 272 / 9 .



I was expecting that Australia would score more than 300 runs as their first wicket partnership was strong . But Indian bowlers restricted them to 278 .


Indian innings was not good . No top order batsmen stayed in the crease . Finally India was able to score only  237 .


There by , India has lost the match . Since it was the series decider match and India has lost the match , Australia has won the match as well as the one day cricket series against India .

Bumra's last ball sixer .....

Today is the 4th ODI cricket match between India and Australia . India has won the toss and elected to bat first . In Indian innings everyone scored . Dhawan scored 142 and Rohit Sharma missed 100 runs by couple of runs . It was the perfect batting track .



I didn't count how many times I had clapped by watching Indian batsmen scoring boundaries and sixes . My mother scolded me for my childish behaviour . But I am doing it when I am extremely happy .



In the previous match , Australia had scored 313 runs . I thought what a mammoth total . But today India has scored much much more . That is 358 runs!!!!




We have given the visitors a sweet revenge total . But out of all the sixes scored in today's match , the sixer hit by Bumra in the last ball of Indian innings is unpredictable . Bumra is the last man of Indian batting playlist . That too he came to bat in the last ball of Indian innings .


Everyone must had thought Bumra either will try to score single or get caught . Similarly he hit the ball very high ...... I thought it is going to be an easy catch for Australian fielders .


But no..... no..... It was a six !!!!

The title of article describes the situation of 2nd one day cricket match against Australia . Yesterday Australia had won the toss and elected to field first . Indian innings was able to post a target of 250 runs in 50 overs thanks to the century by Kohli .


I again started watching the tv when the match was going to end . That was the final over . Australia needed to score 11 runs from 6 balls . They had only 2 wickets in hand.

This is definitely going to be a thriller . Team which can withstand the pressure at this situation is going to be the winner .

Indian bowler Vijay Shankar was set to bowl the final over . First ball itself is a wicket .! I was sitting at the edge of the chair now .


Second ball Australian players managed to take 2 runs . Now 8 runs are required to win the match . Next ball , Australian batsman was clean bowled ! There were smiles at the faces of Indian players as we have won this match !!!

Taking just singles made India to win the match

Yesterday was the day of first ODI between India and Australia . As Australia had won the toss , they decided to bat first .


I started watching tv when India started chasing that too after 8.00 pm . At that time , India's score card read 62 runs from 63 balls .


By reading the score card , I thought of only 2 possibilities . First one is attempting to score more by hitting sixes and boundaries . This one helps in raising the current run rate but there is a risk of losing wickets .



Second one is just go on taking singles . This means one run per ball . There will not be the risk of losing wickets as batsman is not going for a big shot .



India has followed the second step and won the game against Australia . 

Pineapple-rice payasa

Ingredients

Cooked rice - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - a pinch or 1/2 tea spoon ( to get color)
Pineapple pieces - 3 to 6
Sugar - 1 cup or as per taste
Raisins and cashew pieces - little
Ghee - to fry dry fruits


Method


First  , prepare rice and make it ready . Now to this rice , add turmeric powder . Now add pineapple pieces and sugar as per taste  .

Now take ghee in a pan and in that , fry raisins and cashew pieces till they become red . Add the dry fruits to payasa and serve hot .

IAF pilot held captive by Pakistan , he was beaten black and blue

Abhinandan Vartaman  is a IAF pilot . When Pakistani jets violated Indian airspace and tried to attack on Indian military bases , Abhinandan was the pilot of the MIG fighter jet which was successfully sent back the Pakistani jet.


Since it was the area of mountains and hilly terrain , his aircraft lost the control and got crashed . Unfortunately the area of crash is Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.



Here comes the trouble . Though it is not a war , Abhinandan was held captive . Now locals are hitting him with the help of Pakistani army .


I am worried . These Pakistani demons can do anything if they come to know captive is an Indian that too a Hindu . I am confident that our government will make the arrangement for his safety and quick release .

Surgical strike 2.0 by India on LOC

Instead of arguing about whether India should play against Pakistan in world cup , today's breaking news is very important . Our air force soldiers carried out the second surgical strike.


According to news , strike carried out today morning 3.30 . This time it is mirage fighter plane of Indian Air Force 




This was required . Enemies must know if they kill our soldiers , even we know how to retaliate .

Hardik Pandya is injured and out of the series against Australia

Today morning I read in the news paper that Hardik Pandya has injured his back . Because of this , he will not be available for the coming series against Australia which will be played in Indian soil.


I am really worried . Though I am a huge fan of Hardik Pandya , I oppose him in one thing . Now Hardik Pandya has missed the series which is the form testing series before the world cup , he would be suddenly fit and fine for IPL matches !!

If Hardik Pandya proves my assumption wrong and misses IPL matches too , because of back injury , I am more than happy .


But truth is always different and people will do anything , without caring for their health too , for MONEY . 

Mud volcanoes

A mud volcano is a formation created by the ejection of mud from the ground. However , a mud volcano is not a true volcano since no lava or ash are  produced.


How are mud volcanoes formed?

Ground water is heated by geo thermal activities and mixes with sediment to form mud. Steam from heated water deep underground , forces mud through an opening in the ground .


A mud volcano is present in Balochistan , Pakistan .

Burning magnesium

Magnesium metal and its alloys are extremely hazardous . They are highly flammable in air , act violently with water. The bright light produced by burning magnesium contains ultraviolet rays , which can permanently damage the eyes if precaution is not taken. It is advised to wear goggles to avoid directly looking at with naked eye . When magnesium metal burns in air , it reacts with oxygen to form magnesium oxide which is a white powder. This is an exothermic reaction means it gives energy ( heat ) . Magnesium acts as reducing agent when treated with water. It reduces water into highly flammable hydrogen gas. The surprising fact of magnesium is that it acts in the same way with carbon dioxide as it acts with oxygen. Suppose if we place a burning magnesium near dry ice ( solid carbon dioxide ) , then it will burn brightly leaving carbon as one of the end product. Hence , both water and carbon dioxide can not be used as fire extinguishers if fire is due to magnesium related products . India lost the T20 match against New Zealand

Today is the final T20 cricket match between India and New Zealand . India has lost the match . I was expecting the result .


Though India has won the toss , it decided to field first . New Zealand has taken the very good advantage of this . New Zealand batsmen were in a scoring spirit . All Sixers and boundaries .


I was beginning to think that a New Zealand batsman , if he just touches the ball , the ball is either going to a six or four !


Indian fielding was at its worst  , as Indian fielders have dropped 3 catches to ground . New Zealand posted a score of 212 runs with 6 wickets still in their hand .


India started chasing poorly . In the 3rd ball of the first over itself , Shikhar Dhawan got out . Rishabh Panth scored some runs and also Hardik Pandya .


From this point  ,I had switched off t.v. . Just now from watching news , I came to know that India lost by just 4 runs .


India could have won this match if they didn't dropped the catches .

India has levelled the T20 cricket series against New Zealand

3 matches of T20 cricket series is going on against New Zealand . Today is the second match . After losing the first match by a huge margin , India had to win today's match to keep the series alive .


New Zealand batted first . Their 4 batsmen were back in the pavilion very early . It is spinner Krinal Pandya who sent 2 New Zealand top order batsmen quickly to pavilion claiming leg before wickets .


He is named man of the match . New Zealand posted a score of 158 runs . According to me , Indian openers were able to score today . Specially Rohit Sharma . He started chasing by hitting sixes and boundaries .


He was out when he was at 50 runs . I believe he was succeeded in giving positive vibes to other batsmen . When the starting is going good , others will also go good . Same thing happened .


Other batsmen could bat freely because of solid start. Though 158 runs look an easy target to chase down , we must remember that anything can happen in a T20 cricket match .

Hardik Pandya shined in today's match against New Zealand

Today is the final one day international cricket match against New Zealand . I could not watch the live telecast of match on tv .


I came to know about the result that India has won the match against New Zealand . I came to know that it was Hardik Pandya's game that saved India's face after collapse of top order batsmen .



Hardik Pandya's ton helped India to post a score of 252 runs against New Zealand . Hardik Pandya scored 45 runs off just 22 balls . It consisted of 5 sixes and 2 boundaries .


Though India had already won the series , this match was also important as Kohli was rested .


Hardik Pandya is always a saviour for India .

Different types of people

Recently I heard a lecture on different types of people . I will explain it in a simplified form with real examples .

There are 3 types of people .

1. People who listen to elders and act as they say 

          These are the people who listen to what the elders say and also follow it in their life .

Best example is me !!! I always listen to what the elders say . I remember my childhood days . I was very fascinated by a burning candle and wanted to touch it . But my father  forbidded me by doing so saying that I will hurt myself . I listened to him and dropped the idea of touching it . Now I know we must not touch any burning things as we may hurt ourselves .


2 . People who listen to elders but don't act as they say 

These are the people who act like they listen to elders but they don't follow their saying .


Example is my 2 year old nephew . Even he was trying to touch the burning candle . All of us ( elders ) asked him not to touch . But also he went ahead and touched . As a result he has burnt his finger .



3 . People who don't listen to elders


These are the people who neither listen to elders nor act like that .


Example is my cat . He is a tomcat . His name is Shambhu . He just likes to sleep whole day . Anywhere in the house we can see him drowsing . Last year during winter he was sitting on gas stove as it is warm . As usual he was drowsing . I said him don't sit there . You will burn your body hair . But he didn't listen . Sat there . He was so sleepy that he didn't even realize that his body hairs have got fire . It is my mother who noticed and made him to vacate the place .

Flying Hardik Pandya !!

Nowadays Indian cricket team is playing against New Zealand . Now they are playing 50 over match of 5 one day cricket series .



Out of 5 matches , India has already won 2 matches . Today is the 3rd match . I don't think New Zealand is going to win this match .




Opted to bat first , New Zealand managed to score 243 all out . India is batting now and already scored 168 /3 . India needs 76 runs from 17 overs .


I am here to write an article praising my favourite all rounder Hardik Pandya . Today he once again proved that he is an all rounder and he is fit and fine .


Recently Hardik Pandya was in news for all the wrong reasons . But now he has joined the Indian cricket team in New Zealand .


Today when he was fielding , he caught the ball in his both hands , by diving to his left . It was a very difficult catch indeed .


Hardik Pandya got hold of the ball , like he is flying in air with both of his feet above the ground !!!!

Why does sky looks more red during sunset than sunrise ?

Sunrise and sunset are the two phenomena where Sun is near the horizon . Everyone knows during sunrise and sunset , sky turns red or orange colour which is the mixure of red and yellow colour . My doubt is why sky looks more red during sunset than sunrise ? Before explaining this , I would like to tell some facts . Visible light is made of 7 colours which are violet , indigo , blue , green , yellow , orange and red . The wavelength of red colour is longer than violet colour . Now , the light from the Sun gets scattered before reaching the observer . Now when Sun is near the horizon , scattering is more . Because of this , light components of shorter wavelengths are virtually removed ( violet colour and others ) and only light components of longer wavelengths( yellow to red ) reach the observer . Hence , sky looks dark red or orange during sunrise and sunset when Sun is near the horizon . Let's come back to question . Why does the sky looks more red during sunset than sunrise? As I said earlier , light gets scattered throughout the atmosphere . During morning , dust particles and pollution are less . As day passes , the amount gets added up . During evening , scattering of light components is more . Scattering is more meaning more rays of longer wavelengths like red , orange and yellow colour . That's why sky looks more red during sunset than sunrise .

India has won the ODI match series against Australia

Today was the day of final match of the 3 match series against Australia . India has won the toss and opted to bowl first . So I didn't watch the Indian bowling session . I can't watch Indian bowlers and fielders getting punished from opponents .



Australia had scored 230 runs . I thought it is a small target compared to the target of second match . When India was able to chase down the huge target of 298 runs , this target is nothing .



I watched Indian batting . The play ground was very large . Even though batsmen try to hit a boundary or sixer , the ball is not going beyond the boundary line . Batsmen have to be satisfied with singles or two runs . I don't know how Australian players managed to score . That is their home ground .



Finally it was Dhoni who had come to rescue . Other batsmen too scored . But as the match progressed , it seemed very similar to second match .



Only difference was in the previous match , Dhoni had hit the winning run . But in this match , Kedar Jadhav did it .


Similarity is Dhoni was present in both the matches till the end !

Final over sixer by Dhoni made India to win

Today is the 2nd one day cricket match between India and Australia . As India has lost the first match of 3 match series ; today's match was the do or die match for India to keep the series alive .


Again Australia won the toss and elected to bat first . That time itself I feared that scenario of first match may repeat . So I switched off t.v.


Australia posted a score of 298 . It would have been different story in Indian cricket pitches to chase and win this mammoth total .


But it is an Australian cricket track . By watching the way Indian players played in the first match , I didn't imagined India may win this match .


But Indian openers Dhawan and Rohit Sharma succeeded in giving a sizzling start . By watching them playing , it was not a dream to chase the target .



After Dhawan departed , Kohli came . Kohli must be declared man of the match . He scored a century in tense situation .


But true match began after departure of Kohli . It is Dhoni who made India to win the match . The situation was too tense . In the final over , India needed 7 runs from 6 balls .


It may sound simple to score . The way Australian fielders were fielding , chances of scoring runs were very bleak .


But Dhoni hit a sixer in the first ball of final over !!!  Then it was not a problem to hit the single run to win from remaining 5 balls .


Dhoni is a great finisher and his six in final over made India to win the match .
