India vs Australia series decider match

 Yesterday was the series decider match between India and Australia.

The T20 series is of 5 matches. India has won the first 2 matches. 

Series is now 2 - 0. If India wins this match, then whole series would be won by India.

If Australia wins, then the series would be alive. 

Australia has won the toss and decided to bowl first. 

Australia started its bowling by a wide  !!!!

Jaiswal got out in the first over just for 6 runs.

Ishan Kishen hot out for a duck....

India is now 24 runs for 2 wickets.......

New batsman Surya started to shine by hitting 4s and 6s  !!!

Partnership of 50 runs was there between Surya and Gaikwad.

Surya was out after scoring 38 runs.

India completed 100 runs in 12 overs. 

Australian bowlers were under pressure as it was clearly evident with the number of extras they had bowled. 

Gaikwad was in full swing in this match. 

New batsman Tilak and Gaikwad built a partnership of 69 runs. 

India has reached 150 runs in 16 overs. 

Gaikwad had scored 123 runs in 57 balls. 

He is the first one to score a 100 in T20 against Australia. 

India finished their innings for 222 runs.

Australia were 66 runs for 3 wickets just in first 6 overs !!!!

At this point, they need a big partnership to chase the big total. 

Maxwell was going strong and it seems he is going to win the match for Australia. 

 

Australia needed 124 runs in 64 balls. 

As I was afraid, Maxwell turned dangerous and he snatched away the win from India. 

He even scored a century. 

There by, Australia recorded their first win in the series. 

Now 5 match series is 2 - 1.

Hope next match would be a series decider match !!!!

India vs Australia 2nd T20 cricket match

 Yesterday was the 2nd T20 cricket match between India and Australia.

As I didn't watch the previous match , where India has won the match by chasing a big total of Australia , I decided not to miss any action in 2nd T20 match.

Australia had won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Indian  opening batsmen are doing fireworks !!!!

Just in 3.5 overs ,, India completed  50 runs.

  

Jaiswal had completed his 50 runs in just 23 balls with the boundary but got out after that. 

After 5 overs , fielding restrictions were gone and Australian fielders were showing good fielding.

India were 100 runs for 1 wicket after 10 overs .

Ishan Kishan, was in full swing . He completed his 50 runs with lots of sixes. But after 50 ,he got out.

New batsman Surya started his batting hitting a 6.

But he didn't last long.

Meanwhile all the first 3 batsmen of  India had scored 50 runs. 

Rinku singh came and had hit 25 runs in just 7 balls  !!!!!!

India were 235 runs for 4 wickets in 50 overs.

Runrate is almost 20 runs per over  !!!!!

Chasing this is an almost impossible task.

Australia were struggling at 82 for 4 wickets....

In the middle order, Australian batsmen tried to give a fight back and raised my BP !!!!! 

But they were all out for 191 runs..... 

India is now ahead in the 5 match series with 2 - 0.

Naseeruddin's dream

 One night , Naseeruddin had a dream .

In the dream , a passenger was asking Naseeruddin that whether he can

spend a night in his house ?He would give 10 gold coins for the stay .

Listening to that , Naseeruddin readily agreed . But Naseeruddin put a

 condition that passenger must pay the full amount in advance. 

Passenger agreed and took out his wallet and started counting the gold coins to pay. 

He counted 9 gold coins and gave them to Naseeruddin.

Naseeruddin shouted but the deal was for 10 gold coins !!

Shouting as he is, Naseeruddin woke up from sleep.

He searched here and there for the passenger. But he could not find him. 

Naseeruddin thought for a while and murmuring to himself All right, All 

right !! Give me the 9 gold coins itself  !!

Then he went back to sleep.

Final of cricket World Cup, we are the chokers.....

We are the new chokers.!!!!

Australia has won the world cup..... 

Our opening batsmen didn't play well. 

Shreyas could have stood for some more time. 

Jadeja got out quickly. 

We could have gathered at least 50 to 60 more runs. 

First of all we could have won the toss. 

Every thing went against us....... 

But truth is, 

                   We are the chokers....... 

The Australian player Head must be beheaded..... 

He was the person who slowly built up the partnership and finally got out for 137 runs. 

But Australia had reached the target already. 

South Africa vs Australia semifinal cricket match

 Once a Chokers will be always chokers........

Yesterday was the match between South Africa and Australia. 

This was the second semifinal. 

South Africa batted well in all of the league matches. They stormed into semifinal as the 2nd team in points table. 

Till now, in all the matches whenever South Africa batted first, they didn't score less than  300 runs...... 

Yesterday also, they won the toss and batted first. 

They were 44 runs for 4 wickets  when rain has halted the play. 

Still it was 14th over. Big hitters were back to pavilion. 

Middle order batsmen of South Africa batted well.  Specially Miller. 

South Africa somehow managed to score 212 runs. 

Australia had lost first 2 wickets very early. 

South African bowlers and fielders were not letting Australian batsmen to run for singles also !!!!

Australia were closing in to reach target but no wickets near them.

Already lost 6 wickets..

Australia needed 31 runs from 82 balls.......

Australia needed 9 runs from 39 balls.....

Australia just needed  3 runs to win.....

Though South Africa lose this match ,, they had given their 100% to defend their low score .

But bitter truth is now South Africa are out of world cup.

India vs New Zealand semifinal cricket match

 Yesterday was the semifinal match between India and New Zealand.

India won the toss and decided to bat first. 

Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill had given a strong foundation.

Rohit Sharma was aggressive as usual. Just in a blink of a second, he scored 47 runs and got out.

Till he was batting,  the crowd had witnessed a rainfall of sixes !!!

But as soon as the first power play got ended, New Zealand fielding had become tight. 

Shubhman Gill was able to score a half century. 

When Gill was at 78 runs, he got leg cramps and was retired hurt and back to pavilion. 

Shreyas joined Kohli. Shreyas aiyyer batted well and even he scored 50 !!! 

India had reached 300 runs in 47th over. 

Virat Kohli scored 100 runs and with that Kohli has broken the record of Tendulkar of scoring highest number of centuries. 

Before ending his batting. Kohli had hit a huge 6 and New Zealand fielders seemed restless and frustrated !!! 

Sixer Shreyas had completed his century in just 67 balls. 

After dismissal of Shreyas, Surya came to bat and returned to the pavilion instantly 

I wonder why did he take the trouble to come to crease ??? 

After his dismissal, Shubhman Gill had come to bat as he was retired hurt earlier but not got out. 

So, at the end of. 50 overs India posted a huge score of 397 runs. 

New Zealand were fighting back. There were 212 /2 in just 31 overs.

India was not able to break  the 3rd wicket partnership. As the time passes , New Zealand was looking dangerous .

Indian side is staring a defeat. Crowd has gone silent.

Mohammed Shami did magic !!!!!

He had taken back to back 2 wickets.

India was again on winning streak ......

Deepavali kartika amavasya

 Yesterday was deepavali kartika amavasya.

On this day, we worship Goddess Lakshmi and God Kubera. 

As everyone knows about Goddess Laxmi, today I am writing about God Kubera. 

In Hinduism,  God Kubera is the guardian of treasures. He is also the treasurer of Gods.

He is the step brother of Ravana but not a Rakshasa. 

All the Hindu gods and goddesses have animals as their vehicles. 

But Kubera rides on a man. 

It symbolises how man can be easily made a slave of money.

It also tells us that we must be the master of money not it's slave. 

Why is it like that?

 This was the question asked by a Pakistani cricket fan.

We know that there was a match between England and Pakistan. 

The result of the match was very crucial for Pakistan. 

Because there was a slight chance of going to semifinal for Pakistan if it wins the toss and elects to bat first. 

But alas !! England won the toss and decided to bat first and piled up runs of 339 in 50 overs. 

Pakistan could not chase the target and got defeated and was out of the world cup. 

At that time, a Pakistani fan expressed his disappointment like above. 

According to him, 

Since the beginning of the world cup, England was not playing good. 

But for the final two league matches, England reinvented itself and posted a score more than 300 runs  !!!! 

Suppose, if England could had played like this from the start of world cup, then whole scenario would be different. 

Who knows Pakistan could have been in semifinals at least !!!! 

After listening to the words and reasons behind that, even I agreed. 

I can feel the pain.......!!!!! 

One sided league cricket matches

 Now cricket world cup 2023 is coming to an end......

The teams which are going to semifinals are fixed. 

Now last phase of league matches are going on..... 

These matches are not going to affect the teams which are already confirmed their place in semi finals. 

Today there is a match between India and Netherlands. 

No need to say who will win the match....... 

It is the match between the team who is at first place in the points table and the team which is at bottom last position..... 

Yesterday's matches were also same.

Now I am waiting for the semi finals to start.......

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

With this match, Sri Lanka was not going to get anything as it is already out of the world cup. 

But New Zealand is going to confirm a place in top 4 teams and get qualify for the semi finals. 

When the match was started, Sri Lanka had lost 3 wickets very early. 

I thought this was once again going to be an one sided match. 

But middle order batsmen and the tail enders powered Sri Lanka to 171 runs which is still unbelievable !!!

Sri Lanka were all out just for 171 runs. 

New Zealand batsmen were going strong.

Winning this game was really easy for them as the target was low.

By watching them losing against Australia and Pakistan, I really wanted them to win this match.

Now New Zealand is in semifinals and Pakistan is out  !!!

England vs Netherlands cricket match

 At least from yesterday's match, England may come up from bottom most position in points table.. 

Yesterday was the match between England and Netherlands. 

As per latest updates of points table , Netherlands were in 9th position and England were in 10th position in points table. 

In yesterday's match, England batted first and had batted like they were champions of last year.....!!!

Finally England has rediscovered themselves as they posted a huge amount of target of  339 runs.

Netherlands at one point, they were 78 for 3 wickets.

Middle order batsmen were trying to give a fight back.

Required run rate of reaction increasing beyond 10 runs per over and current run rate was less than 5 runs per over. 

Netherlands has lost the match by 160 runs. 

Netherlands is out of the world cup . But this win is not going to affect England either  !!!! 

Australia vs Afghanistan cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between Australia and Afghanistan.

Now fighting  for no 4 position has started..... 

In the first 3 positions, India, South Africa and Australia are there. 

But for the no 4 position, there is a fight between New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan. 

These top 4 teams will qualify for the semi finals. 

Yesterday's match I started to watch from 40th over. 

Afghanistan were batting. 

They had lost only 2 wickets so far. I expected them to play some scoring shots in the last 10 overs.

I was not disappointed...... 

Afghanistan batsmen scored mostly sixers..... 

Australian bowlers and fielders must had got surprised by watching the game of Afghanistan. 

Finally, Afghanistan had end their innings by scoring 291 runs...... 

Australia now has to face Afghan spin attack........ 

Australian batsmen were struggling to face Afghan spin attack. 

At one point they were 72 runs for 5 wickets.

Australia were just keeping hopes on Maxwell as they were already 158 for 7 wickets. 

But Maxwell didn't disappoint. He scored  double century in spite of suffering from muscle pain. 

By watching his game, Afghanistan had understood that he, alone is sufficient to win the game for Australia.....

Same question was asked on Koun Banega Karodpati program recently.

Given options were

I was surprised...... Not from the question.... 

But from the options ........ 

There was not the mention of England...........!!!!!

I waited for the reply by contestant. 

He replied   Netherlands  !!!!!

Amitabh Bachchan said it as the correct answer.......!!!!

I started checking the new updated version of cricket World Cup 2023 points table. 

There it is....... 

10 nations participated in  cricket world cup 2023. Points table

This table clearly shows England is at the bottom most position and Netherlands at 8th position.

Then the question asked in the program has different answer. 

Confused as I was, I asked the same question with my father.

My father has answer to all the questions I ask...... 

He replied, The shooting date and telecasted date of program would be different.

When the program was shot, Netherlands could have been in bottom position. 

As for England, no one ever imagined that the team would be in bottom most position...... 

From the above point of view, the given answer is correct. 

India vs South Africa cricket match

 Yesterday was the much awaited match between India and South Africa.

India elected to bat first after winning the toss. 

Indian openers made good use of batting first. 

Both Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill played some fireworks strokes. 

Rohit Sharma got out when he was nearing 50 runs. 

After some time, even Gill got out. 

Then dangerous duo Kohli and Iyer were joined together and made India to cross 200 run milestone. 

Yesterday was Kohli 's birthday. Kohli made yesterday memorable by scoring a century. 

This century was his 49th.

Rahul and Surya didn't last long. 

India crossed 300 runs. 

In the last over of match, Jadeja had hit a 6 and 4.

India closed its innings by scoring 325 runs. 

South Africa had got scared by India's total.

At one point,  they were 40 for 4 wickets  !!!!

The team which was terrorizing other teams by its batting strength, had already lost key batsmen  !!!!!

In front our bowlers  , their powerful batsmen could not stand.

South Africa were all out just for 83 runs. 

They could not score 100 runs also. 

All credits go to Indian bowlers both spinners and fast bowlers. 

India is now invincible at this world cup !!!!! 

New Zealand vs Pakistan cricket match

 Yesterday's match was really worth watching as New Zealand batsmen thrashed each and every Pakistani bowlers !!!

Pakistan had to repent for its decision of bowling first. 

New Zealand had posted a mammoth 401 runs against Pakistan. 

Each and every Pakistani bowlers has given away more than 70 runs in their 10 over quota.. 

All the New Zealand batsmen came to play went on thrashing Pakistani bowlers except the first one. 

Pakistan had to get satisfied with this much only yesterday. 

New Zealand became the first team to pass 400 run mark in ODI cricket world cup.

Pakistan was also giving a fight back and showing it is not going to give up. 

Now I know why were they trying to score more runs...... 

Pakistan knew that it was going to rain later.  DLS unscientific method is going to be applied...... 

If Pakistan is ahead in getting runs than New Zealand, then without playing they will win the match.... 

What a clever and cunning thinking..... 

But same thing happened.... 

New Zealand lost the match in spite of scoring 401 runs...... 

Bad luck haunts New Zealand........

I didn't watch.........!!!!

I have to watch 2 important cricket matches today...... 

Just now I watched the news and came to know that air quality of New Delhi  is drastically decreased because of air pollution. 

People are suffering from breathing problems. 

Since our parliament is in  Delhi and National presidents of various political parties resides in Delhi.

I didn't read any reports of these politicians getting admitted to hospital because of breathing problems. 

Are they not affected from air pollution ???!!!!

 Million dollars question ....... 

India vs Sri Lanka cricket match

 Yesterday was the match between Sri Lanka and India.

Sri Lanka bowled first. 

India lost opener Rohit Sharma very early. 

But there was a good partnership between Kohli and Gill., which was very crucial at that point. 

 Because of these two batsmen a partnership of 100 runs was built and India as a team crossed 100 run milestone at 16 over.

Though they are scoring runs, they were happy with boundaries and singles. 

The first 6 of Indian innings came at 27th over by Gill. 

But he was out after scoring 92 runs, missed his century...... 

Gill and Kohli partnership is of 189 runs. 

Even Kohli missed his century, got out for 88 runs.... 

  

Shreyas Iyer's quickfire 36 ball half century kept India alive. 

Finally India finished its innings at 357 runs for 8 wickets. 

In reply, Sri Lanka has started batting and in first 3 overs had lost 4 wickets just for 3 runs !!! 

By looking at the score, I thought this match is going to be one sided match as half of Sri Lankan batsmen were already back to pavilion !!!! 

There was nothing interesting left to watch in the match. 

Sri Lanka were all out just for 55 runs. 

They could not complete 20 overs also. 

Sri Lanka have recorded the second lowest total in a world cup cricket match. 

Siraj and Shami both of them together broke the backbone of Sri Lanka. batting. 

South Africa vs New Zealand cricket match

 Yesterday's match was between South Africa and New Zealand.

I think whatever had happened, only New Zealand is responsible for that. 

New Zealand had won the toss. 

It could have been a good decision to select batting first. 

But it didn't and asked in form South Africa team to bat first. 

South Africa batters had a good use of the opportunity and just pounced upon New Zealand cricket team. 

In the first 10 overs, they had made it clear. They were scoring runs without losing any wickets....... 

List of in form batters of South Africa is very long. 

Likewise 2 of them scored centuries, one half century. 

The batting strength of South Africa is such that  in the last over, before to last ball,  South African batsman got out.

The new batman Markham had come to crease to face the last ball of last over of the match....... 

That person also finished the innings of his team with a sixer...!!!!!

Everyone was playing sixers .... 

South Africa piled up runs and ended their innings with 357 runs. 

New Zealand starting was not good. 

It had lost first 3 wickets for just 55 runs. 

I was wondering was it the same New Zealand team who had chased Australia without any hesitation ??? 

What had happened when playing against Australia was just an one time wonder ....... 

New Zealand had surrendered itself before South Africa without giving a fight also...... 

When losing is confirmed, 

Always lose with a grace ........ 

Bangladesh vs Pakistan cricket match

 Yesterday's match was between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

In short, I can summarise the match like this..... 

Bangladesh batted first. 

The Bangladeshi batters found it tough against Pakistani bowlers.

They failed to put up a challenging score.... 

Bangladesh were all out just for 204 runs.

In bowling also, no magic was done by Bangladeshi bowlers. 

Pakistan had reached the target easily just by losing 3 wickets.
