It was a no-moon day and still it is dark
The street dog completed his duty of bark;
I saw in western sky, something glowing bright
Finally I concluded it must be planet Venus's light !

Fear of death

                                     Fear of death

Once a man was walking in a desert. He was very thirsty. He thought if he could find a tree to rest on, he may escape from the heat. What a luck ! As soon as he finished his thought, a tree all with green leaves stood infront of him.
Man was very happy.  He ran towards the tree. He leaned to stem of tree. He was getting drowsy. He thought if he could have a bed with pillows it would be nice. As he finished his thought, a bed with pillows stood infront of him !
Man was happy. He laid down on the bed. Then suddenly he remembered he is thirsty and hungry too. He thought if he could have some food and some water to drink, it would be nice. His wish became true. A plate with various dishes and also water to drink came infront him.
By seeing all these, he thought my every wish is coming true. There must be some ghosts on the tree who can read my mind. As soon as he finished thinking, he heard some noise on the top of tree. He thought the sound must be of ghosts. He was scared that what will he do if they come infront of him?
As soon as he finished the thought, a ghost came infront of him. By seeing its external appearance, he thought it may eat him. Same thing happened. Ghost ate him.
Moral : Our ill thoughts are our enemies.

Why rainbow is not visible on afternoon?

                                       Why rainbow is not visible on afternoon?

We all have seen Rainbows. But they are usually formed in mornings or evenings not in afternoon. Because we know that for rainbow formation, sunrays has to pass through raindrops. Then refraction of rays take place and light is split into 7 colours.
But though in afternoon, rain comes and rays passes through them,refraction wont take place. Because, for rainbow formation, sunrays has to be in 40 degree angle to that of rain drops. In afternoon, Sun will not be in 40 degree position. It is possible only in morning(when Sun is coming up) and in afternoon (when Sun is going down). Thats why rainbow is also formed only in mornings and evenings.

He had the ambition of asking the village head the secret of his success. L:ikewise, King disguised himself as a common man and went near the village head. At that time, 2 persons had come near village head with a cow.
Both are saying that he is the real owner of cow. Argument started between two. To seek justice, now they have come near village head. King was curious as to know the truth. But village head asked the men to tie the cow in his house and leave.
He said he will give judgement after 3 days. Both of them agreed and left. After 3 days, they have come back so also the King. That time, village head pointed to one of them and said that he is the real owner of cow. He ordered guards to punish the other man for telling lie.
King was surprised. He asked the village head how did he find out the truth? Village head replied " I have asked them to leave the cow in ny house. The real owner was with the cow all the time, feeding it and looking after it's needs. But the other man was nowhere to be seen. Only real owner can care for his belongings. On that logic, i have found out truth".
King was pleased by the answer and awarded the village head with prize.

ಆಪದ್ಭಾವನಂತೆ ಇವತ್ತು ಮುಖ ತೋರಿಸಿತು ಮಳೆ ;

Chanakya's words

                                            Chanakya's words

Chanakya is the minister in the court of Chandra Gupta Mourya. Chanakya is well known for his administrative advice he had given to King. Once an ambassador from Greece had come to King's court. Even he had heard about Chanakya. As soon as he entered the capital, he asked a guard in king's court to show the house of Chanakya.
Guard said Chanakya don't live in capital. Surprised ambassador asked about the where abouts of Chanakya. Then he came to know that Chanakya lives in a hut in the outskirts of city. Ambassador went to meet Chanakya in his hut.
After meeting Chanakya,the first question ambassador asked was why is Chanakya living in a hut while he can enjoy all the fecilities given to a minister by King. Then Chanakya replied " Its true that I can live a luxurious life. But the enjoyment is being carried out at people of state who are paying the tax. In the state itself, there are people who can not afford a square meal per day. In this situation, I can not waste people's money for luxurious things. I can use them for useful work for people. Thats why I opted to live in a hut without much expenditure."
After listening to Chanakya's words, ambassador understood why Chanakya is hailed for his administrativew skills.
