                                   Significance of Naraka Chaturdashi

There was demon by name Narakasura. He worshipped God Shiva and got a boon that he must die because of a woman only. So, now he became invincible. Because there are no women who can kill him. He was giving trouble to sages and people.
All complained near Shrikrishna. Krishna faught with Narakasura. But could not win because of boon he had got. Narakasura captured nearly 16,000 women and kept them as hostages. He feared that these women may kill him in future.
Shri Krishna after knowing the details of boon, decided that his wife Sathyabhama must kill him. Like wise, Narakasura and Krishna again faught. But this time, Satyabhama succeded in killing the demon. Hearing the death of demon, the captured women had taken oil bath to celebrate the feat.
They prayed to Shri Krishna to marry all of them as they were captured by demon and people may look at them suspeciously.Shri Krishna agreed and married all of them. People seen celebrating this victory that is death of troublesome Narakasura by taking oil bath and wearing new clothes and lighting lamps in their house. Till now,people are practicing in same way.
It is Diwali. This festival is celebrated all over world.
