The compensation

 Once Mulla Naseeruddin was walking on the road.

Suddenly a stranger came in front of him and slapped him !!!!

Naseeruddin stood there in the shock not knowing what was going on. 

After some time, same stranger returned and apologised to Naseeruddin for slapping him as he had got confused Naseeruddin with some one else.

Naseeruddin didn't feel satisfied with his apology. 

Naseeruddin dragged the stranger to court and narrated the whole story near the judge.

After listening, judge gave the judgement that Naseeruddin must slap the stranger to avenge the insult.

But Naseeruddin was not happy with the verdict.

So judge ordered the stranger to pay one gold coin in lieu of the slap.

Stranger left the court saying that he will return with the gold coin. 

Naseeruddin waited for some time but stranger didn't return. 

So, Naseeruddin stood up and slapped the judge squarely on the face  and said, 

I have lots of work to do. So whenever that man returns with the gold coin, you keep the gold coin as the compensation for this slap  !!!!!

Who is the real destroyer?

 In a village, there was the big menace of rats.. 

Rats were not sparing anything. How much people tried to protect their things, rats somehow destroy them. 

Unable to bear the burden, all villagers assembled together and listed out the methods to control the rats. 

There were more than 100 methods of controlling the rats which were suggested by villagers. 

Chief of village noted down all of them in a book and kept the book on the table. 

As it was getting dark, villagers decided to plan on the next day.

Everyone left . In the night , rat army had arrived in the house.

Rats observed that the book is lying on table .

Rats gathered around the book.

Book though it is scared  , started talking  !!

Book said ,

Don't come near me . I am the destroyer of rats.

I have more than 100 methods to control rats with me 

Tomorrow villagers are going to implement each one of them on you.

Listening to that , rats had a good laugh among themselves.

Rats just jumped on the book.

They just tore everything of the book.

Finally , book was left with pieces of paper .....

Obsessive compulsive disorder

 It was the COVID time.

Everyone were advised to properly wash their hands. 

Here was a lady who was  following the advisory but in a strange manner.

After touching anything, she was heading to bathroom to wash her hands. 

But how much ever she washes her hands, she is not satisfied. 

She was going on washing her hands till they become sore or chopped. 

This type of behaviour is called obsessive compulsive disorder. 

There is a difference between being perfectionist and obsessive compulsive disorder. 

I always double check if the stove, fan and lights are switched off. 

Also I double check if the doors of house are properly closed when going out. 

These practices cause no harm..

But they are called disorder when they affect the quality of life. 

Inauguration ceremony of IPL 2024

 Yesterday was the inauguration ceremony of IPL 2024..

Though I don't watch the matches played by different teams , I believe the players are playing just for money. 

In a single team, there are players from different countries  !!!!

I wonder what is the purpose  ???

If a T20 match being played between two individual countries, I would definitely watch. 

Because there will be a feeling that our country must win. 

Here I get confused who to support ???

IPL has become a player centered game.

Yesterday 's  was the inauguration of the male IPL tournament.  It was a colourful start. 

But BCCI had not done this much arrangement for women's IPL tournament. 

Why is this partiality between two genders  ??? 

Sport is always a sport   ...... 

Kids are always kids !!!!!!

 From today, men's IPL T20 Cricket matches are starting..... 

I remembered this incident happened recently. 

My nephew Aniruddha is having great interest in news regarding cricket .

I had a doubt.

Our Indian male cricket players only play in IPL T20 matches.

But throughout the world, T20 cricket matches are being played 

Indian male cricket players don't play in other T20 matches being held in other countries .

Why   ????

I asked my doubt near Aniruddha.

He explained

" There are many T20 leagues being played.

Like IPL of India, 

Pakistan  , Sri Lanka , Bangladesh , Australia, West Indies  , South Africa , UAE also conducting T20 leagues..

But Indian male cricket players don't play in every T20 cricket matches.

This is because of decision taken by BCCI...

Indian government has taken a stand that it's cricket players are not going to play with Pakistani cricket players. 

So, when other countries wished to conduct T20 league, they were given an option - - - - - - -

Either Indian cricket player in the team or the Pakistani cricket player in the team but not both of them together    !!!!

According to that, some countries chose Indian players and some, Pakistani players. 

We can find Indian male cricket players in T20 critical league of

UAE

Remember Pakistani cricket players don't play  in these leagues 

Similarly Pakistan , Sri Lanka, Bangladesh , Australia , West Indies premier T20 cricket matches don't have Indian players as they have opted for Pakistani players.

But same problem is not there in women's T20 cricket league.

Because Pakistan don't have a strong women T20 cricket team like us  !!!!

A couple has 3 sons..

Each son has a sister, a wife and a child.

How many people are there in the family   ??

Answer 

A couple has 3 sons. Each one of them has a sister.

This is possible only when all of the sons have only one sister.

That means, couple has 4 children. 3 sons and 1 daughter 

Total number of family members, 2 + 4  = 6.

Now each son has a wife and a child. 

That means, 1st son =2 members 

Same way, 3 sons = 6 members. 

First we got number of members as 6 

Now again 6 members. 

Adding both the equation, we get numbers of family members   =  12.

Dream of the desert

 Dream of the desert is a luxurious train and is launched in Soudi Arabia recently.

Train will start from Riyadh, capital of Soudi Arabia and end in Northern border of Jordan.

In their journey, passengers will get to travel through scenic desert and UNESCO world heritage archaeological sites.

The train has the capability of 80 people. 

The passengers will get to spend either 1 or 2 nights on board the train. 

It is expected to start from year 2025.. 

Green horse

 Akbar was always fond of wisdom of Birbal.

One day both of them were taking a walk in the garden. 

That time, a crazy idea came to the mind of Akbar by looking at the greenery of garden. 

The idea was to Ride a green horse  !!!

Akbar shared his idea with Birbal.

Akbar ordered Birbal to get a green horse for him to ride. Or else to face punishment.

Birbal agreed and he didn't turn up to the court for 7 days.

Birbal came back to court on 8th day.

As soon as he came, Akbar asked for the green horse. 

Birbal said that He has found the owner with green horse.

He is ready to give the horse, but he has some conditions. 

Akbar asked about the conditions.

Birbal listed out the conditions. 

1. Akbar himself has to come to take the horse.

2.  Besides 7 days of a week, on any day Akbar can come to take the horse  !!!!!

After listening to the conditions, Akbar realised that impossible conditions for the impossible task..

Why ice is slippery ?

Ice on ots own is not slippery.

The friction on the ice causes a very thin layer of water to develop on top.  This little layer of water laid over the icy surface causes the slipperiness.

The thin layer of water reduces the friction of the surface making it more slippery.

We can lessen the chance's of injury because of slipperiness by using proper amount of salt to sprinkle on ice .

How Naseeruddin handled the vinegar for so many years ??

 One day neighbour came near Mulla Naseeruddin and asked him,

I have heard that you have got vinegar that is 40 years old.

Will you give me some ???

Naseeruddin replied,

If I go on giving the vinegar to everyone who wants to have some of it,

it would not have become 40 years old  !!!

What is  2   +   2    -   2   *   2   /   2

We must follow BODMAS formula. 

This formula states that we must perform 

1. Bracket 

2. Order 

3. Division 

4. Multiplication 

5. Addition 

6.. Subtraction 

We must follow this formula to solve the problem. 

1. we check for the brackets. 

There are none. 

2. We check for order or exponants.

There are none. 

3. We check for the division. 

2  +   2  -  2  *   2  /  2

There is division between 2 and 2 that is 2   /   2 = 1.

Now equation reduces to

2  +  2    -   2  *  1

4. Check for multiplication.

There is  2     +       2      -    2    *  1     =>   2    +     2   -   2    

5. Check for addition. 

2   +   2  -   2   => 4   -   2

6. Finally checking for the subtraction. 

4  -  2   =  2.

Answer is                   2.

Kids are always kids !!!

 My nephew Anirudh is very smart.

His name is Aniruddha. 

But he wants everyone to call him just Anirudh..... 

Aniruddha is one of the name of God Vishnu. 

So in our house, everyone calls him just Anirudh..... as he wish. 

But not me........!!!!!!

I call him with his full name. Not just that. With extra elongation.......... 

Aniruddha..... aaaa....... aaaaa..... 

That's how I call him. 

When he was small, he used to get irritated by my calling him like that. 

But now he don't say anything. 

Because he has now understood that I am not going to change...... 

No chance..........!!!!!!

Why do we served with small plates in buffet ??

Whenever I attended a buffet lunch, I am always served with a small plate.. 

I always wondered, there are many things to eat and they are giving such small plates !!! 

 Why  ??? 

It is an optical illusion called Delboeuf illusion.

Every time we fill our plates, this illusion affects how much food we take and how much food we think we have taken.

As predicted by the illusion,  we

Under serve and over estimate in small plates.

Reverse is also true.

Suppose, we are served with a same dish of same quantity in two different plates,

One is small and other is larger, 

Then we tend to think that there is more food in small plate compared to the larger plate. 

But truth is that quantity of food is same   !!! 

This is the illusion. 

So  when served food in smaller plates, we actually eat less than we thought we had eaten. 

That's why in buffet, food is always served in small plates !!!

Story of BhimaShankar jyotirling

Today is Maha Shivaratri.  So I am writing about Shiva temple.

We all know about BhimaShankar jyotirling .

It is among the 12 jyotirling temples of India .

Bhima of Bhima Shamkar is not the Bhima of Mahabharata  !!!!

This Bhima is of Ramayana times .

We all know about Kumbhakarna , brother of Ravana .

Kumbhakarna had a wife by the name Karkadi.

Bhima is the son of Kumbhakarna and Karkadi.

But when Karkadi came to know about death of Kumbhakarna from gods   , she hid her son from everyone.

When Bhima grew up  , he came to know about death of his father from gods , he developed hatredness against gods.

He performed austerities regarding God Brahma to please him.

God Brahma had to give him boons .

But after getting the boons he started troubling everyone such that he declared himself as God  !!!!

He asked everyone  to worship only him .

But there was a King who was the ardent follower of God Shiva .

Bhima came near him when he was worshipping God Shiva .

Enraged by this , Bhima asked the king to stop worshiping other God than him .

But king didn't listen and continued .

Angry Bhima tried to damage the shivling by his sword .

That time God Shiva himself stood infront of him and killed him for his evil works .

King prayed God Shiva to stay in the shivaling and to bless the devotees .

God Shiva agreed and from that time onwards, the place and also the shivaling were known as BhimaShankar .

 Recently I came across this question on web radio.

Question - - - - -

I have 7 candles lit. 2 of them blew out. At the end of the day, how many candles do I left with ???

Answer - - - - -

The reading of the question is important.

The answer is not as we thought. 

At the first glance, we feel that whether burning or blown off, the number of candles remains same. 

Because none of them disappeared !!!!

So we can tell we have total 7 candles with us, 5 are lit and 2 are not.

Now question says "at the end of the day" ,

That means we have 5 candles which are lit. They will glow through out the day, then they will go off.

Finally we are left with the 2 candles which are blown off in the beginning. 

Rest 5 are lit and now melted !!!!

So, we have only 2 candles........ 

Why Dhritarashtra was born as blind ??

 We all know Dhritarashtra of Mahabharata.

He was the king of Hastinapur.

He had 101 children who were known as Kouravas.

He was born as blind. Knowing his disability after marriage, his wife Gandhari decided to sacrifice everything, which her husband can not enjoy and blindfolded herself permanently.

But why Dhritarashtra was born as blind by birth  ??

Around 100 births before he born as Dhritarashtra, he was a hunter.

Hunter's main job was to catch the birds alive or dead and to sell them.

He was earning good money from this profession. 

One day in the forest, he saw a tree inhabited by hundreds of birds.

As it was their reproduction time, many of them had built their nests and some have welcomed the new born babies. 

The babies were so small that they didn't open their eyes also.

Hunter made a note of all these. 

To acquire more money, in greediness hunter put the fire around the tree. 

Many of the birds and their offspring died there itself as smoke engulfed them.

Hunter was watching all these and he didn't repent for what he has done.

KARMA HAUNTS.........

As a result, hunter was reborn as Dhritarashtra.

He was blind by birth. 

As the punishment for his bad works in his previous birth, he has witnessed the death of his 100 sons too. 

I want to marry......

 Wife of Mulla Naseeruddin has died at the age of 70 years.

Naseeruddin is 80  years old now. 

 

Naseeruddin called his son of 60 years old to talk. 

Son :  What is the matter, father ?

Naseeruddin : I want to marry !!!!

Son : Who will agree to marry you at this age ?

Naseeruddin :  I am in love with the  neighbourhood girl !!!

 Son :   She is just 18 years old......

Naseeruddin : So what  ??!

                      When I got married to your mother, she was also                            18 years old !!!

 When I was watching the episode of Koun Banega Karodpati program, this question was there regarding heaviest animal.

I knew it is blue whale.

But there are some more animals which are heavily built. These animals are large in nature but not in bone.

Mother take care of everyone

  It was the time of Ramayana.

Ravana had kidnapped Sita Mata and he kept her in Lanka's Ashokvan.

Sita didn't have anything, neither food nor water. 

She was always worried about her husband Sri Rama and brother in law Lakshmana.

Seeing her deteriorating condition, King of heaven God Indra decided to help her.

He came down to earth with special payasa.

The speciality of the payasa is that whoever consumes it, they will not feel hungry or thirsty.

Indra came near Sita and presented her the payasa. 

But Sita was suspicious about Indra as she had never seen him before. 

She thought it to be the black magic of Ravana. 

Ravana had kidnapped Sita disguised himself as a sadhu. 

Sita was not in the mood of believing anyone as she is staying in the captivity of Rakshasas. 

But Indra produced some of the evidences  that only angels would have. 

Finally Indra was successful in making Sita to believe that he is really the friend of Shri Ram. 

Indra presented Sita, the payasa. 

But Sita refused to accept it. 

She said, 

How can I take it when my husband and brother in law are suffering from hunger and being thirsty ?? 

Sita didn't accept the payasa though she herself is suffering from hunger and being thirsty. 

Finally God Indra made both Sri Rama and Lakshmana free of hunger and being thirsty. 

Sita made sure that her husband and brother in law are really free of hunger. 

Only then she agreed to have payasa. 

That is a mother. 

She always thinks about others more than herself. 

A murder mystery

 2 boys entered a bar.

Both of them ordered a drink for themselves. 

The ordered drink chilled with ice cubes was served.

First boy gulped the drink as soon as it was served. 

Second boy was seen slowly sipping the drink.

After some time, second boy was seen dead. His drink was poisoned. 

Drink of first boy was also poisoned. 

But nothing happened to him.

How is it possible ????

Answer

As I said earlier, both of the boys drank the drink with chilled ice cubes.

The drinks ordered by both itself was poisonous. 

But the second boy was dead whereas the first one was not !!! 

The ice cubes were having the poison. 

As the first boy gulped down his drink as soon as it was served,  the ice cubes didn't melt down so as to release the poison. 

But the second boy was sipping the drink. The time was sufficient for the ice cubes to melt down and release the poison. 

Thus, only second boy was dead not the first one  !!!!

These animals don't have sound sleep through out the night.  They would be having short periods of sleep. 

It is mainly to avoid predators.
