What are we teaching our children ?

 Yesterday I was watching a quiz show on TV for school children . This week itself we celebrated republic day . Quiz program was organised on the facts of our independence and democracy .One question was there regarding the first independence struggle of India . We all know it happened on the year 1857.

Though the British called it as revolt and brushed away as the internal matter within army , this incident sowed the seeds to seek complete independence from British .

The question was who called the incident of 1857 as the first independence struggle ? Quite easy question . Everyone knows that it was Vinayak Savarkar .The student could not answer the question . 

Finally quiz master revealed the answer and asked her what she know about Savarkar ?The answer she gave totally shocked me . She said Savarkar was a terrorist !!! 

I didn't know what to say about that ? I kept on thinking where we are heading to ? If our children think all the freedom fighters are terrorists , there is no meaning for the independence we are enjoying now .

Don't give anything without thinking !

 This story I read it in a Kannada newspaper . I found it funny yet relatable to present day situations . I thought I will recreate in my own words .



We know the thrimurthies in Hinduism . They all are married .

They are -----

 God Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi
  God Brahma and Goddess Saraswati
    God Shiva and Goddess Parvati


Once , all the 3 goddesses met together and they were sharing their happiness and sorrows .


Goddess Lakshmi said , " I have a big house in Vaikuntha . 2 door keepers  ( Jaya and Vijaya ) are guarding our house . Milk sea itself is our house ."

 Goddess Saraswati also described her house , how big it is . Now it is the turn of Goddess Parvati . But she don't own a proper house like everyone else . She and God Shiva live under a tree .


She couldn't say anything . Insulted as she was , she returned to Kailash . She saw her husband , God Shiva meditating .


She got angry on her husband . She said how much she was got insulted while chitchatting with her sisters . Later she pressurised her husband to do something on that matter .


No husband can say NO to his wife's demands . Likewise , God Shiva called the architect Vishwakarma and asked him to build a large , beautiful house for him .


Vishwakarma agreed and accordingly built the house . Now  Parvati is very happy . Now she is planning to organize a lavish house warming ceremony and busy in calling the other fellow gods .


Everything was planned . God Shiva decided to call  demon king as well as a great brahmin Ravana to grace the occasion as a purohit .


Ravana agreed . Function was a huge success . Everyone was surprised to see the beauty of the newly created house .


God Shiva and Goddess Parvati were very happy . God Shiva decided to honour purohith Ravana according to his wish . God Shiva asked Ravana to ask anything as a reward .



Ravana politely refused the offer . But God Shiva insisted . Then Ravana asked the newly constructed house of God Shiva itself as the reward !!!


Without thinking , God Shiva said Thasthastu meaning yes . Next second itself , the Devine couple God Shiva and Goddess Parvati were standing under the tree !!!!!

A win in Brisbane after 32 years !

 India has achieved a milestone which no other countries had achieved in Australia for 32 years .

Australia was invincible in Brisbane cricket stadium for past 32 years . But India made the Australians to taste their first defeat .

Today is the final day of fourth test cricket match of Border-Gavaskar series . When I started watching ,, pujara and pant were batting . India needed 195 runs to win . Pujara as usual not interested in playing scoring shots . Even Pant was doing the same thing .

Australian bowlers are getting frustrated . So was I !!!

When India needed 100 runs to win , Indian batsmen started playing strokes . Specially   , Rishabh Pant . He returned to his usual aggressive form .

When Pant was playing , the match looked like T20 match not test match . When India needed just 3 runs to win  , a wicket fell down . But finally Pant had hit a winning stroke of boundary .

Thus India won the match and also won the series .

Century partnership of Thakur and Sundar

 Today final test match between India and Australia is being played . Indian cricket team is having more number of injured players who had the knowledge of playing in foreign soil .

Hence Indian cricket team is having inexperienced players in its squad . But this Indian cricket team is doing wonders in Australia.

Australia in their first innings scored 369 all out  . When indIn started their first innings , they lost their openers yesterday itself .

But today India batted really well . The century partnership between Thakur and Sundar was praiseworthy .

Sundar scored 62 runs . It is the highest score by a visiting batsman  at number 7 playing in Australia .

Indian tail enders didn't allow Australia to gain a huge lead . Now it is interesting to see what is going to happen in secise innings of both the teams .

India vs Australia . 3rd test cricket match

 Today is the last day of 3 rd test cricket match between India and Australia . I watch the test cricket match on the last day of match . 

Now India need 102 runs from 90 balls to win this match . But the way Indian batsmen are batting , I don't think they can pass this . The present batsmen playing are just wasting the balls without scoring any runs .

It is better to let jadeja to come to play as he is ready with pads on . It is better to finish the match as soon as possible  . We don't have any other batsmen except jadeJa .

Unexpected winter rain in udupi

 As I am writing this blog article ,it is raining heavily outside . It is full of lightning and thunder . Since morning , it was too hot . But not sweating like summer season .

Now rain has stopped pouring . Lighting and thunder are still there . Whenever it starts raining , first thing to go off is electric power . Ohh .... it started to rain again ..

It just feel like rainy season . I just love the fragrance of soil we get to smell , when we have the first rain . Today also , I smelled it . My parents are searching for umbrellas which they may need tomorrow .

Yat bhaavam tat bhavati .....

The above line is in Samskrit language . Meaning of this line is what we think , that same thing will happen .  I  can say it is scientifically proven also .





There was this gentleman . He had the habit of taking afternoon naps . Once he was taking nap and his mouth was open . Some people have this habit of sleeping with open mouth .




At that time itself , a house fly entered his mouth !! 



As soon as it entered his mouth , gentleman was awakened and started coughing continuously so that the house fly can come out .



But his efforts were not of any use as house fly had gone deep down . After this , gentleman started to think that he knows the walking path of house fly within his body . He started saying this now house fly is near the eye ,now near the lips etc.


His family members were very upset because of this behaviour of gentleman . Whole day gentleman used to give updates on the whereabouts of house fly inside his body .



Family members consulted a doctor . Doctor did all the physical check up and tests . All reports were normal . Finally doctor said that it is unlikely that the house fly is still alive . Its dead body would come out in the stools . No reason to worry .


But gentleman was not ready to accept the report . He was very much sure that house fly is still alive and is travelling inside his body !!!!



He consulted one more doctor . Even that fellow has said the same and he advised gentleman to stop thinking about the house fly . Doctor asked the gentleman to stop imagining things .



Gentleman nowadays acting like a mad person . Then one of his friends came and told him that he can take out the house fly from his body .


Gentleman was very happy that someone has come for his help . Relative asked him to lay down in the same position when house fly had entered his mouth . Gentleman did the same .


Then relative asked him to close his eyes and not to open the eyes till he catches the house fly . After that he started pressing the body parts slowly as if he is making the house fly to come up in the body .



When he acted as he has made the house fly to reach the throat , he signalled his assistant to bring a dead house fly in a container .


Soon , he acted as if he has made the house fly to come out of the mouth and he caught it inside the container . Gentleman was told to open his eyes and he was shown the dead body of house fly .


Thinking that , house fly was extracted from his mouth , gentleman felt relieved . Still he don't know the truth about house fly .
