Shyamantaka mani story

                                Shyamantaka mani story

Once a man named Satrajita has done rituals to please Sooryanarayana to grant him richness. Soorya was pleased by this and gave a pearl named Shyamantaka mani to Satrajita and cautioned him to use it in a hygenic state as it will grant richness and luxury.
Satrajita was very happy. After that he got pearl, he was blessed with richness. But it made him to look at everyone suspeciously thinking that they may steal his pearl. Srikrishna was also lived in same region. But now, Satrajita is not talking to Krishna.
Satrajita had a brother named Prasannajith. Once Prasannajith went for hunting wearing the pearl by permission of his brother. But in forest, he was killed by a lion. Lion has taken pearl from victim. As it was passing , a bear named Jaambavanta faught with lion and killed it. Now the pearl is in possession of bear. It gave the pearl to his daughter Jaambavati.
Meanwhile,Satrajita was waiting for his brother to return.  But he didnt. Days passed. No sign of him. People are sure that Brother must have got killed. Satrajita started saying that Krishna has killed his brother in order to have the pearl.
Krishna heard of this. He felt bad. He decided that he will look for the missing brother. As he entered forest, he found the body of brother killed by lion. Krishna picturised what had happen. But after some distance, he found the body of lion too. Krishna saw the foot prints of a bear nearby.
He thought in the fight between lion and bear, lion got killed. He found out the place where the bear lived. He entered the house. There he saw Jaambavati playing with pearl. By seeing Krishna in his house, Jaambavata started attacking Krishna. A fight started. But no one got defeated. Then Jaambavata realised that Krishna is none other than Sriram to whom he was ardent follower.
Jaambavata was full of shame as he faught with Krishna. He begged pardon and gave Krishna the pearl and also married his daughter Jaambavati to Krishna. Krishna returned home with pearl. By listening to the story happened, Satrajita realised his folly and got married his daughter Satyavati to Krishna.
