Cat's Head nebula

Cat's Head nebula is NOT a separate nebula. It's a small pillar of dust INSIDE the big *Carina Nebula*.

- Distance: *7,500 light-years* from Earth.

*Why called Cat's Head?*

- It looks like a *cat sitting with its back to us, head turned right*.!!!!

- Long dark body = cat's back and tail

- Top rounded part = head with 2 small ears

- *Red glowing dot = Cat's eye!* That eye is actually a *baby star* born inside dust.!!!!

*How it formed?*

- Nearby there are super big stars (Eta Carinae - 5 million times brighter than Sun).

- Their strong UV light and wind blew away light dust, but dense dust stayed - carved into cat shape.

- It's temporary - after some lakh years, it will break and vanish.
