Everyone knows about Dennis the menace. Similarly, I am thinking of writing Monkey, the menace ! Because in the place I stay, the trouble given by monkeys are unimaginable.
When I went near the gate today morning, I heard noise coming from up the coconut tree. There I saw a group of monkeys sitting atop the coconut tree and picking the tender coconuts.
In next moment , they were on the next tree drinking tender coconuts. We humans drink water or tender coconuts to quench our thirst during afternoon. But these monkeys are on the duty early in morning. If we are able to catch and train the monkeys,  the labour problem we are facing for climbing the coconut trees and plucking the coconuts will get solved !
I hope they dont want anything in return than tender coconuts. Because of deforestation, monkeys are coming to nearby villages of forest . No way other than this for them too. I wonder how monkeys come to know which are the tender coconuts and the bad ones.
If they can teach the technique to us , it will be a great help.

One night, when Naseeruddin Hodja was asleep in his house, a thief broke in to Hodja's house. Silently, he started searching for valuable things. The things whatever he got, he was packing them in a bag. He was surprised to see a helping hand.
It was Naseeruddin Hodja.  He was helping the thief to accumulate the valuables and was helping thief to pack them in a bag. Thief was really worried now. He had seen people who were shouting at him. But here, Hodja was helping him to steal!
Thief asked Hodja the reason for his behaviour. Then Hodja replied" I am thinking of shifting the house. I was worried that how to pack all these things. Anyway, you have come and was packing the things. So, I thought I will help you to do the job. "
By hearing this, thief was dumbfounded.

There was a man who was telling with everyone that no one can fool him. This was heard by Mulla Naseeruddin. He decided to teach man, a lesson . Likewise, he met the man and said he has come to fool him. Man was very surprised. Because Naseeruddin was not at all looking the man who can fool anyone !
Man agreed for the challenge. That time Naseeruddin asked the man to wait for sometime as he remembered an important work to do. Naseeruddin said he will return soon . Man agreed and he was waiting. Hours passed. But he was still waiting.
A passerby asked him the reason. Man replied that Naseeruddin has challenged that he will fool the man and man was waiting for Naseeruddin as he told that he would return soon.
By listening to that passerby could not stop laughing. He said Naseeruddin has already fooled the man by making  him to wait and he didnt return still !

Long ago, there was a man named Somanna. He was a farmer. But he was very lazy that he didnt grow anything in his field. But he was telling lies about the yield he got in his farm.
One night, he returned to his home after wandering in the streets. His wife demanded that there is nothing to eat in the house. She asked Somanna to get some vegetables from their field as she wants to taste the vegetables grown in their own field.
Now Somanna is really in fix. He didnt want to make his wife disappointed. He went outside saying that he will do the work. But he had a plan that he will steal some of the vegetables from other's field. Likewise, he went to the farm of his neighbour Raghu.
Raghu had grown brinjals in his field. Somanna acted as if he is asking the permission from field itself! The reply also given by him. The reply was to allow him to take brinjals from the field. Somanna took a bounty and returned home.
Raghu realised that the crop he had grown was stolen. He decided that he will catch the thief that night. He hid in his field.  Somanna came that night also to steal. Raghu was watching. Somanna acted as if he is asking the permission and acted that he has got the permission to steal. Raghu was very furious by seeing all these. He held the hand of Somanna tightly.
Somanna could not run. Raghu's grip was very tight. Raghu came near a lake with Somanna. Raghu acted as if he is asking the permission with lake to immerse Somanna in water. Reply also given by him in approval. Somanna spent whole night in lake water .
Morning he came out and with this good lesson, he stopped stealing !

River Ganga in Udupi !

It is believed that in Udupi, River Ganga comes for every 12 years. It may sound surprising that river Ganga comes to Udupi.
It dates back to the time of Madhwacharya . One day Madwacharya had an ambition to bath in river Ganga. He expressed his wish near his master.
That time, his master said no need of going to north India to take bath in river Ganga. River Ganga will come to Udupi. As the master said River Ganga was there in Madwa Sarovar. Since that time, it is believed that for every 12 years, River Ganga come to Udupi.
There is evidence also for the arrival of Ganga. When River Ganga come to udupi that is to Madhwa Sarovar, that time, the colour of water gets changed to white colour. That is the sign to show the arrival of Ganga. That day is celebrated as Bhagirathi Jayanti.
