How does a battery produce electricity?

How does a battery produce electricity?

A battery consists of battery cells which convert chemical energy into electrical energy. A portion of this chemical energy is transformed into heat and other to , electrical energy.
Every battery cell consists of electrodes . Cathode part is primarily zinc and the anode part is carbon. The electrodes are immersed in liquid electrolyte.
A chemical action sets the electrons free,  it triggers the cathode to slowly get dissolved in liquid electrolyte. A circuit provides the route for electrons to flow in the form of electric current.
