What is a blood moon ?

Tomorrow Oct 7 is a full moon day . That time , lunar eclipse is formed .

Why do lunar eclipses formed only on full moon days ?

A lunar eclipse is formed when Sun , Earth and FULL MOON all come in a straight line .

Earth's shadow will be on moon . During lunar eclipse , moon look coppery red because Earth can not overshadow moon completely . Some of reddish sunlight reaches moon thus making it coppery red .

Full moons of four total lunar eclipses on a row are called " Blood moons " .

The series began on April 14-15 , 2014. To identify this series , there must not be any partial lunar eclipses in between the row of lunar eclipses .

Tomorrow's moon is the second blood moon .
