I love to read the Hindu mythology books . Specially that part having the stories of demons . I have written about famous demons earlier . Today I am writing about 2 demon brothers .
They are Rambhasura and his brother Karambhasura . Recently I heard the story about them . These demons wished for immortality and likewise got the boon too . Now everyone must die some or the other day . I am writing about how they have met their end in the hands of gods .
These demon brothers are always giving trouble to others since their childhood . They were killing and eating their fellow students , i mean the demon brothers are eating .
Soon they have grown up . Now they want to occupy heaven itself and be the rulers of this whole universe !! To achieve this goal , they started performing penance to please gods .
Rambhasura started doing penance to please Agni , God of fire . Karambhasura started doing penance to please Varuna , God of water .
They were doing penance standing on one leg amidst fire and water respectively . The owner of heaven , God Indra got scared of them . He knew they want to occupy heaven .
So he took the form of a crocodile and managed to kill Karambhasura who was doing penance amidst water . But could not do anything with Rambhasura who was doing penance amidst fire .
Soon , Agni got pleased with the penance of Rambhasura . He was ready to grant the boon for which the demon wished for .
Rambhasura got the boon that he would not be killed by anyone including animal , bird , god , demon and humans . Only a dead man can kill him . Meaning immortality itself .
Because of this boon , the demon was invincible and started giving trouble to the whole universe . But he can be killed only by a dead man . Now how it is possible ?????
Gods assembled together and thought of a solution . Indra was having the weapon called Vajrayudha . It was made from the backbone of Saint Dhadhichi after his death .
So this meets all the required criteria to kill the troublesome demon . Likewise Indra killed Rambhasura using Vajrayudha .
