One day it was a sudden heavy rain fall in forest . None of the animals were prepared for this condition . An ant was busy in constructing its home near the river bank . But this sudden downpour made it to loose its house . Now it is getting drowned in the flowing rain water . It is trying desperately to breathe .
That time itself , a pigeon was trying to save itself from falling rain water . It was very near to a tree branch which is above the river bank . As it was heading towards its shelter , it observed that the ant is getting drowned in the flowing rain water .
In order to save the life of the ant , instantaneously it carried a long dry tree branch in its beak and flying at ground level , it offered the tree branch as a support for the ant , to climb up on it .
Then pigeon slowly dropped the tree branch on dry ground . Ant was very grateful to pigeon for saving its life . It promised to pigeon for that it has got a new friend in pigeon and also it is ready to help pigeon in its difficult times .
Then they departed . Days passed . All the animals got busy in their daily routine . But pigeon and ant were still friends .
One day a Hunter entered the forest . At that time , ant and pigeon were talking with each other , sitting on the ground . Pigeon didn't realised that Hunter was standing behind . Soon Hunter caught hold of the pigeon by its neck .
Ant quickly understood the situation . It understood that its friend is in great danger . Without wasting a second , it bit the leg of the Hunter so hard that he screamed and let go of pigeon and started rubbing his leg . Pigeon flew away to a safer place .
Friend in need is friend indeed !!!!
