Why don't we get the shadow of flame when matchstick is lit ?

Suppose we lit a matchstick and throw the battery light over it. We will see the shadow of matchstick only  but not the shadow of flame . Why ?

We get shadow of a object only when the object do not allow the light rays to pass through it . If it allows the light rays to pass through it , it would be called transparent .

Solids don't allow the light rays to pass through them . In this case , matchstick is in solid form. Hence we get the shadow of it . But the flame that we get when we light it, is in the gaseous state ..

Gases allow light rays to pass through them . Hence we can not differentiate a particular gas from visible light as they are transparent . That's why we don't get to see the shadow of flame .
