Chinese had taken part in Mahabharata war!

We all know the story of Mahabharata. How Kouravas cheated Pandavas of their share of land.

It finally got ended in Mahabharata war where Kouravas and Pandavas fought with each other with their allies.

In our Puranas, people from North Eastern part of India and beyond, are referred as  Kiratakas.

The kingdom of Kiratakas was vast. Capital of their kingdom is Pragyojotishapura which is now believed to be today's Tripura. In olden days, Pragyojotishapura is the capital of Narakasura.

Narakasura was ruling this region. Narakasura was killed by Sri Krishna. After death of Narakasura, his son Bhagadatta was crowned as King.

Bhagadatta was the part of Mahabharata war. Though there is no valid reason for him to take part in fight, he allied with Kouravas because Sri Krishna was on Pandavas side.

He with his army of Kiratakas which included Chinese also fought the war along with Kouravas.

As all of us know what is the result of Mahabharata war, Bhagadatta along with his army got killed in the battle.

What I  Iiked is how our ancestors referred to Chinese, Kiratakas. The word optlly suits them!
